just to clarify - this game takes place after control but because the oldest house was in lockdown they've only received letters from trench, nobody in the FBC outside the oldest house even know who jesse is
I think that either the Oldest House or Bright Falls is suffering from time dilation. During the ending of the AWE DLC when they get the Cauldron Lake alert, they're puzzled why the date is showing a few years in the future and say they'll send Agent Estevez to investigate.
The Oldest House is in lockdown due to the events of Control, so anyone on the outside doesn't know the fate of Trench nor that Jesse has replaced him. Edit: lol someone in chat made the same clarification almost word for word.
I am livid about the disbanding of the PoP:Lost Crown Team. They made an absolutely stunning game with a unique take on the IP and DLCs were great as well (tide up loose ends). The build a very good foundation for at least one sequel and expand on the world, lore and gameplay. I hope this game will at least inspire other metroidvania`s. Shout-Out to Voidwrought, an easier but very passionately made metroidvania.
media and critic opinions really dont mean that much when sales arent there. People werent interested enough and not enough sold. I didnt care because I wasnt interested in the protagonist and i feel it was too expensive for a Metroidvania, regardless of what came in the game, its hard to grab people to pay that price for one. I believe they were also banking on the game to help fund future prince of persia projects and hoping this would be similar to a "reboot" but it didn't land. It was heavily marketed. I saw it everywhere with adverisements on youtube , ign praising it etc.
Maybe I should try Prince of persia. I love team Montpellier, but I tried Prince of Persia demo and I was not compelled. Is the game way better than the demo?

Supposedly, Lost Crown only sold 300,000 despite being on all platforms. I don't know if anything could have saved it. Buying a Ubisoft game in the first few months is basically burning extra money for the worst version of their game, and it would have needed to be like $20-30 to combat that perception.
I remember being interested in lost crown as a prince of persia ps2 fan but didn’t get it because it launched near games i was more interested in and kinda got forgotten and my hype died down and moved on. Might get it this christmas
I've seen Lost Crown (PS5) for like sub AU$35 which is actually a great price for such a highly regarded game. I'll be buying it soon to check it out, but I will say I don't love that you need a Ubisoft account to play a single player game.
Prince of Persia is definitely my cup of tea. I was quite excited. Installed the demo on PS5. And it was forcing me to open a ubisoft account for a single player offline game. I just cannot stand sh*t like this. I deleted the game and I think I'll never play again. If single player game forces me to login to an account, forces me to be online, advertise microtransactions, and battle passes everywhere, I just don't play it.
@@fakepasta3935 There are tons of great games around. I don't have time to play all of it so I have to choose anyway. Stuff like this make the elimination process easier.

I dunno. I downloaded the demo for Lost Crown on Switch and it ran sub-30fps and crashed multiple times. Shame because the aesthetic and mechanics were nice, but if it was literally unplayable to play it, why even consider it.
Odd, no clue what happened there, but it was running at 60 FPS on Switch like six months before launch. And as far as I know the final game runs well, too. Tbf, if they launched The Lost Crown at half the price, it would have to sell twice as much as it did. Not sure if that would realistically happen.
