The Orlando Solar Bears hockey and Predators Arena football games are a blast to go to. There's also Orlando City soccer and Magic games. The Phillips Center with the recent addition always has something going on. There are many state parks with freshwater springs nearby. The many beaches, Daytona Speedway and Kennedy Space Center are only an hour away. I'd say plenty to do.
Absolutely, 100%. As I stated in the beginning of the video, it was a comment we received on one of our other Orlando videos and we thought it would be fun to do a "contrarian" video. If you look at my other videos we're always talking up Orlando and the surrounding suburbs, sometimes to the point where people think we're just trying to get people to move here. Reality is, people are moving here anyway so our focus is on getting some of those people to use our services to find and win on a great home.
Totally get where you're coming from-traffic can be brutal. Some Orlando suburbs are trying to add public transportation to help with this, but, well, you know how that usually goes! It’s definitely a challenge in such a car-dependent state.
I know someone who sold a home in Orlando for close to $400 in a HOA community, picked up a sweet 2BR home in a manufactured home community in North Myrtle Beach SC for UNDER $125,000, put a cool quarter mil. in the bank, got himself a golf cart and is about a mile or less from everything, including the beach, church and restaurants. These communities will soon be the last good option for homeownership, so the time to grab up in these beach communities is NOW. My friend is whistling all the way to the bank and says that it's the smartest move he ever made!
Sounds like things have worked out for them. I see it all the time with people up North selling million dollar homes and moving here to buy a $400k house cash. It's all in being happy with what you have and where you are. Thanks for the comment!!!
I lived in Orlando for 7 years, I totally agree with what you say. Apart from the parks there is not much to do, the prices of houses, rents and insurance are ridiculous as if it were NYC, LA or Chicago, which are cities with a rich history of diverse ethnicities. In total the houses are basically made of woodframe, stucco, shingles and they want to charge you as if they were houses made of reinforced concrete, I have friends who still live there and have had to look for 2,3 jobs. People in Orlando live locked up in their houses and hardly know their neighbors
@torowudang life in Orlando is what you make of it. I have great relationships with my neighbors but it takes effort. As for homes, I'll dig into construction method percentages but anecdotally I see about 80% concrete block construction here. Thanks for the comment.

Depends on how far away you want to get. For sure you can stay somewhat local in places like Deland or Clermont but still be near Orlando. You could move to a much more rural part of Florida, or move to a less expensive state like Tennessee, thought I hear it's getting to be like the new Florida there. Anyway, I love Orlando and don't suggest anyone leaves, but if you want to then I'm happy to help you sell your home to do so.
Yes, I love that they are opening that new park, my daughter is actually getting ready to transfer to that park. The point here still carries though. The parks wear out over time and there needs to be other things to do. Orlando actually has a lot to do, but it really is covered up by the parks. We love Orlando, but it isn't for all.

@thepatriot9136 that's part of what I cover. TBH, it's not anywhere near "expensive",but the cost of living is above the average wages. We have had expenses rise much faster than much of the country due to the massive influx of people.

I have been here since 1997 and would never leave. Orlando ain't perfect but I love it. Anyone that moves here has to know it is hot here certain months. Move to CA or NY if you want a true shithole
I moved to Florida in 1985 and I'm never leaving. I've lived on the east coast, SW Florida in the Sarasota area for 13 years and I'm currently in Deltona, where I plan to retire. SW Florida is beautiful, especially the beaches, but there's much more to do in Central Florida. My girlfriend and I never get bored, downtown Orlando and Daytona Beach are both 30 miles away. We spend our free time going to the beach, boating, riding our motorcycles, going car shows and concerts. We usually go to Europe when we go on vacation and get all the culture we need. Lol
@@bgnorthport I agree, I love it here. I live in Lake Mary which is perfect for me, close enough to Orlando and the theme parks but far enough away to not have to deal with the tourists. Thanks for the comment!
Horrible. Its hot and humid all over FL. Not just Orlando. Tourists are not everywhere. Turned off your video. Are you really a realtor? Take this video down please.

The problem is that most of Floriduh is a car dependent shithole. Car free touristy places don't have the problems with traffic.
