    Well Martin, I've spent my whole working life in a Electronics repair shop from 15 to 67, and survived, now in retirement I only restore 1970's radio's upwards, so this bench multimeter would be
    ideal for my bench setup, I was also surprise how good the Siglent sds1104 CNL is for the price, looking forward to viewing the rest of this series, very well explained.

    Martin when you were in the UK do you remember Blue Tac, you shove a big lump of that in the beeper and that will quieten the damn thing down perfectly

      It's called "Sticky Tac" here in CAN/US. Every School Marm uses it to put up posters on classroom walls. I would suggest marrying a School Marm like I did, to ensure a steady supply of Sticky Tac. (Double Bonus Points if she owns a dual temperature hot glue gun.) I use it all the time on those damned buzzers, beepers, and (the worst) those damned sonalerts. Works in cars, too, for those stupid beeping contrivances-you "dash dive" once to find the noxious noise source, and Bob's your Uncle. Also works on annoying led "indicator" lights, designed to blind you. While it's removable, you can also use hot snot to hush these things up better and more permanently, if you can't access them to give them the snip that they need. Damned all extraneous noise and light sources and shitty design, and praise the Moral Sheriffs who quell them, Amen. AND don't you HATE those LED clocks that are so too bright when you are trying to sleep? Plastic from milk carton cut to the exact shape of the display works well to dim these.

    Hi Martin. Years ago (it must be about 9 or 10 year now) you did some ohm's law tutorial's showing "REAL WORLD" resistance verses calculated resistance and you had a DMM inline showing current demonstration that even the wire on the breadboard and the meter added to the resistance. I was trying to remember the value of resistance that the meter had but I think it was about 2 ohm's. PLEASE do the same test on this meter and maybe shoot a video on the resistance of your different meters. The results should be interesting and I would like to see and Excel spread sheet with the data. LOVE THIS VIDEO.

    The Alloet AN8008 at (more or less) $20US has slayed the "handheld" True RMS market for experimenters. Again, for the hobby market, not for CATIV stuff, just the small stuff that we do. But we don't have as of yet a bench multimeter (with True RMS and with a microamps range) that I know of. With the AN8008 handheld at that price point, certainly a "good enough" bench top multimeter in the sub $100US range is attainable. We just wait for a Shenzhen Supplier to make and market one... 73 DE W8LV Bill

    Martin, could you suggest any GOOD probes from Aliexpress? In case you have bought probes from it in the past.

    Sucks that the "bar graph" view is in 80,000 count range, not in 0-100% of range selection...

    Love your Videos. You Donald good job of explaining things. The #1 dealbreaker for me with this unit is no microamps. 73 DE W8LV Bill

    They are available on Aliexpress for 134 Euros all day long. NEVER BUY Chinese made stuff on Amazon or Ebay. It will always be cheaper from the manufacturer or trading companies.

      excited box sometimes you get hit by import duty from manufacturer ect and here in uk they then charge you a charge from the delivery company

      excited box ... If you are a consumer then it won't be cheaper to you since you need to pay other purchasing costs like shipping , logistics , banking , customs duty , ...etc. so it will not make any difference but if you are a reseller then you make count those fractions cut in cost of all these steps to gain by so I think it is unwise to bother purchasing prices rather than what to do by after purchasing the product, i.e. focus on your work rather than others, definitely there are others are cheaper services than yours if we may apply same rules !!

      @@ahmedalshalchi With most products the savings is enough that you can still save money even if you pay customs. I saved over 400 Euros on my oscilloscope. You can have sellers label things as engineering samples in some countries if you are a business. There are customs exceptions on some products and thresholds on low value items. I buy solder for 3 euros that costs me over 20 here. I would pay more for a single stepper motor than I pay for an entire 600mm linear rail kit with stepper motor, 2 support rods, screw rail, mounting hardware and slide. On 96 packages with a value over 2k I had 1 customs charge of around 20 euros. I would easily have paid over 4k buying everything on Amazon and Ebay.

    • @excitedbox5705
      @excitedbox5705 4 роки тому

      @@ahmedalshalchi Customs is 19% so if you save 50-80% you still come out ahead. A lot of items are under the 35 Euro duty free limit or have exceptions or just don´t get checked. As a business the wait for shipping from China is usually not worth the savings in lost time. Also a lot of items on Ebay are still shipped from China and the price increase is in part just the profit the exporter is making plus ebay fees.

    As a heads-up (mentioned before), I have written a free Windows 10 software application that makes this meter more satisfactory. www.hardandsoftware.net/Downloads.htm NOTE, Downloads.htm with a capital "D".

      The software that I have written includes the 2nd display, a graphing mode, and data logging.
