      @@rvermillion8188 No she said ARMY helped with the preparation. I interpreted one of BTS songs for school and ARMY really helps with finding the true message of each song. If you'd like I can go into detail about how Big Hit went about hiring the interpreters or at least how they would go about it in the US.

    • @rvermillion8188
      @rvermillion8188 4 роки тому +4

      Samantha Hom Oh wow, really? BH did that? Please inform me more, because I'm so curious. You see, do you have to constantly look at the interpreter , or look at the stage? It must feel like watching subs or watching the performance.. I surely cannot do both at the same time, especially when it's about them, all of them is mesmerizing.

    • @samanthahom4973
      @samanthahom4973 4 роки тому +16

      @@rvermillion8188 In the US for an event like a concert normally it's the deaf person who notifies the company that they will be attending the event. I believe this was the case here being the interpreters where only there for day one and not both days. Then the company reaches out to a interpreting company or individual to work for them; I believe that Big Hit hired a freelance interpreter. I'm really impressed that they asked for two interpreters to work the show. In the US if you have an interpreter working for more than an hour you must have two present and normally for a concert as big as BTS they would have sent three.
      As far as watching the interpreters or the stage that is up to the person. I had a professor who did concert interpreting and she said some people would look at the stage while performing because they knew the song but would look to her when the artist were talking. Like she described, interpreters sit with thier backs to the stage so you can see them and the stage at the same time.
      I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if I missed anything or if you have any more questions.

When bts and big hit do little things like this to create more diversity and inclusivity in their fandom know I'm watching them start quiet revolutions. They're opening up not just their music and concerts but also Armys hearts to be more inclusive and caring of people who speak different languages and live different kinds of lives.

    It’s been a long time, if I am not mistaken, since exactly this style and form of the video, music and all, was last used. :) Goes perfectly with story as this.
    She leaves an exceptionally positive impression. Believes intensely in what she does and does it with such passion and excitement. That's truly commendable. I’m also majorly impressed and fascinated it’s possible for a sign language interpreter to interpret even a concert, synchronously, in real-time, the whole time of the concert. That must be so very demanding! And even though one week was all she got, she made it to analyze and prepare everything she could. Just the fact such interpreter was arranged for the event of this type is impressive by itself. They appointed the right person. First part of her master’s thesis title “Expansion of Cultural Accessibility for People with Hearing Loss” maybe speaks of her intuition too. She wrote about something and soon after was called to participate and turned it into reality in a place she probably could've never imagined - a concert. Isn't that amazing.

    very nice!! I always enjoy having interpreters at a play. I went to Enchanted April play and the interpreters were wonderful it really helped me understand it so much more. :)

    I remember there was a girl in front of my seating area at the LA Love Yourself concert interpreting in ASL. It's always cool to see how diverse the ARMY fanbase is and how many different communities it combines

    BTS care about all their fans a and that makes me so happy. I'm really thankful to army and people like her that help others so they can also enjoy BTS' messages 💜
    I'm here again because of "Permission to dance", Bangtan used sign language in their choreo and I saw that a lot of deaf people or with hearing loss felt touched and happy because they never saw artist like them.
    I'm currently studying modern languages in the university and there's a selective unit and sign language is an option, I've been always interested in that one and thanks to BTS now I really want and to pick that one, so excited 🙌🏻

    The video is great and I really enjoyed watching it! Just for the feedback, I recommend to avoid using hearing impaired because that term is considered a negative in the Deaf community.
    Also, as a Deaf person and enjoy K-pop, I have noticed that there are Korean sign language infused in the dance and that made me really happy because it’s spreading the awareness with the Deaf community in South Korea! It really warm my heart when Hearing Army helped to process and get access for Deaf Army! Much love! 🤟🏼

    I always wanted to learn sign language, I’m happy that I found a UA-cam Chanel that teaches it ! Also, if anyone know a UA-cam channel in French/English or even Spanish/Japanese that teaches it I would be so thankful! I know that they differ from language to language so I want to learn as most as possible 😊
