Recently heard the sad news Willy passed away 24 January 2024. Details on his website. I played football with Willy in the mid 70s and 80s for a South London team St Matthews West Norwood and later on we both played again together for a West London team called Ajax Casuals FC. Ajax home ground was the old Guinness factory sports ground in Acton/Park Royal area. He was not only a brilliant musician and singer but also a fantastic football player I looked up to. RIP my old friend.
been looking for this version for YEARS. I couldn't remember who it was by or even what it was called. i've had the same few bars of music in my head for 25+ years. then today, here it is right in front of me. One thing ticked off my bucket list. i now know... thank you.
@. Starting with"here we are"..and of course the song continues,he is very popular, and has a large fan base and hope more can be added, that's including those new to the man,who is Irish based and plays guitar in recording tracks.😂
I love this song. I was so blessed to know Willy. Red Lion Brentford, great times. He inspired me to pick up a guitar. 30 years later I’m a singer and guitarist still. Only 36 yo. My friend and inspiration.
I'll never forget Willy, even though I never had the chance to meet him since I'm only 14 but my grandfather ( Jimmy Hush ) was in the band writing on the wall with him and according to him they had a lot of good memories together and I will say that his vocals are something else. Will Finlayson shall live on forever.
Bought this on 7" when it came out and played it until it was worn out. Its nostalgia for a time long gone. For past girlfriends, and teenage angst. For something which probably never was or will be. Just an amazing song.
Willy was just an immense talent as we're all the musicians he played with. What a loss, I will never forget that band, ever. The music is mortal. Paul
FINALLY!!!! Thank You! Thank You!! Thank You!!! I've been looking for this (literally) since it first came out; on hearing it on a local countdown of the British Charts.... then on Nightmare on Elm Street.... I have another version by the same artist, but this one is the better of the two!
...it's only lovers changing places..." Oh for when I wished the searched had stopped, long before the damage had been done. Should you meet someone, with whom you know it will be forever, stop looking. Trust me.
There's nothing to not like about this record. Singer has one of the best names I've ever heard, a remake of a brilliant song, the entire front cover, and that pose. It shared a record label with "Birdie Dance" by The Tweets (I think), and my undying curiosity, whatever happened to "Willy Finlayson"?
+David Burrows -- for me if there is someone with amazing voice among male singers its defintely Willy Finlayson...this guy is awesome..and On the air tonight is the most favorite of mine !!!1
Prior to this Wily Finlayson was in a band called Meal Ticket. They had a brilliant album called Code of the Road... Sadly it came out just as punk swept the charts & it didnt get the sales it deserved. They came out of the Twickenham pub rock scene.... And Rick Jones, the #Fingerbobs & #PlaySchool guy who died last week was also in Meal Ticket
I dont recall hearing this on Elm Street 2, unless it's on the soundtrack somewhere. By the way, I do have this song and all the other songs never produced on the soundtracks from Part 1 through 5
Loved ❤ this in 83 and still do 2025❤
Nightmare on Elm Street 2 brought me here.

Отличный саундтрек к фильму Кошмар на улице Вязов 2 " Месть Фредди "
i heard this on absolute 80's today. 1984.. gary davies of radio 1. used this track as his signature tune.
Stussy H Hi.lt was Bruno Brookes not Gary Davies.
@@scottheritage4545 i remember "On the air tonight ... with bruno brookes"
Gary Davies was using Small Town Creed by the Kane Gang around that time if I remember correctly.

Romeofud its playing when Lisa talks about going to see Jesse after he leaves their make out session to go sleep with Grady.
It plays at the pool scene
sounds like Comodore's hit Nightshift.
