My Father (Jim) was a huge fan of Phil Collins. We had this play at his funeral today. R.I.P Dad 05/11/65 - 18/02/24. I hope we did you proud, I love you! xx
Hi, I was born on the same day as your dad, I'm battling cancer and I'm a big Phil Collins fan too.... This song at the funeral, beautiful. Allow me to send you a big hug, he will surely be proud of you from up there...
this song was widely negatively received by critics because phil was the only one back then to speak up and say something and people don't like you when you're honest. god bless you Phil.
GenericRubbishName 1) what are you doing on the video if you say 'it's terrible'? Just curious. 2) it's one of the best songs of all time. period. Ignoring what shit critics say.
I'm glad it's simplistic. It's a simple message,He is telling a story from someone else's perspective. Powerful message and meaning. One of the best artists of all time. Hands down.
My Father can't speak English but he sings this song as someone who has been in a place where it is fluently spoken. I like to listen to him always when the music is being played and principally when he begins to whistle. May the Lord protect him for long
This songs brings tears to my eyes. Reminds me when I was homeless and addicted to drugs and I'd walk the streets thinking no one cared. Been clean and sober nearly 17 years now and this songs still takes me back to a dark place 😔
Most people don't realize it can happen to *anyone*. Right now millions are barely one paycheck away from homelessness. Be VERY proud of who you are. You survived where so many would have succumbed.

He walks on, doesn't look back He pretends he can't hear her Starts to whistle as he crosses the street Seems embarrassed to be there Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you and me in paradise Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you You and me in paradise Think about it She calls out to the man on the street He can see she's been crying She's got blisters on the soles of her feet She can't walk but she's trying Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you and me in paradise Oh, think twice, it's just another day for you You and me in paradise Just think about it Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do? Oh Lord, there must be something you can say You can tell from the lines on her face You can see that she's been there Probably been moved on from every place 'Cause she didn't fit in there Oh, think twice, 'cause it's another day for you and me in paradise Oh, think twice, it's just another day for you You and me in paradise Just think about it Mhm Think about it It's just another day for you and me in paradise It's just another day for you and me in paradise (para-paradise) Paradise Ooh, just think about it Paradise Just think about it (para-paradise) Paradise Mhm, paradise Paradise Just another day

My aunt loved to sing to my kids every night. In a small town nestled between rolling hills, there lived a girl named Emma who often felt lost and alone. Every day after school, she wandered to a quaint little church at the edge of town, seeking solace in its warm embrace. It was her refuge, a place where echoes of faith filled the air, comforting her weary heart. They sang of love that conquers fear, of grace that heals, and of dreams that soar. With every note, Emma felt her worries fade away, replaced by the promise of something greater. The choir’s music began to reach beyond the church, spreading hope throughout the town. They performed at local events, touching lives and bringing people together. Emma noticed the smiles that lit up faces as the music played, realizing the profound impact of their message. One evening, while practicing under a starry sky, Emma reflected on her journey. She felt a deep sense of belonging, knowing they were shining a light for others to find their way. Inspired by her experiences, Emma started to write her own songs, weaving her feelings into lyrics about faith, resilience, and hope. With her friends’ encouragement, she began to perform her songs during choir events, sharing her story with the world. The more she sang, the more her spirit lifted, transforming pain into purpose. As the seasons changed, so did Emma. She blossomed into a beacon of light in her community, using her voice to uplift those who felt lost. The little church became a hub of hope, where people gathered not just to listen but to share their own stories of struggle and triumph. Together, they sang not only of faith but also of love, friendship, and the beauty of new beginnings. Through the power of music, Emma found her voice and her purpose, inspiring others to embrace their journeys with courage. The melodies that once filled her heart with longing now resonated with joy, reminding everyone that no matter how dark the night, the dawn will always break, bringing the promise of a new day filled with hope and love. Emma’s story became a testament to the transformative power of faith and community, showing that through music, lives can be changed, hearts can heal, and dreams can come alive. As she looked around at her friends, she knew that together they were creating a symphony of hope, one note at a time. I lost my husband, moved in with my aunt when things went bad for us Kelvin owe all my gratitude to you for changing my life from being hoemless to owning a home. help me thank her in prayers Feedback@kelvinpro . com this are the exact lyrics she sang to my kids every night.!!
Me😊👍👍👍 10th September. God I haven't heard this brilliant song in a very long time!!!!. Last time I heard this, I was working in a factory in 1989, back when this came out , and there was a radio station playing on the factory floor and this would come on a few times during the day. I was 17 then, and turn 52 tomorrow but this still brings back all those great memories of working in the factory.
My Dad was born without knowing his parents. He grew up abused by his aunt and uncle but always listened to this song. He was bullied all his early life. This song brought him happiness in dark times. A few years passed and this extremely large man met him and changed his life. He was taken away from the abusive family by the man and taken to a boarding school. He found friendship, family and love at that school. Sadly, he also met the man who killed his parents there. He killed his parents killer just outside of the school grounds. I love you dad.
I know this very well now.. I personally had to go through the same thing myself for several months before my family could get to me to help me because they lived two states east, so happy I'm with them now
This song is relevant for all times. It hasn’t changed ,we just see it more. Strife, famine homelessness, political unrest, murder, genocide , racism & disease , domestic violence, child trafficking and sexual abuse. I could go on. We see it more thanks to the media and social media. If it wasn’t for wireless technology we wouldn’t see half of what we do.
The wealth dispersion is disparaging. So the only split is really rich and dirt poor. Middle class is almost gone. It breaks my heart. Most super rich can’t see past their own nose to even care. So sad
For good reason. This is a shitty virtue-signaling hypocritical song from a guy who’s making a song about how the homeless are in need all the while making even more million of dollars than he already had off of this song. Ugh.
16/09/2024.. I am a young African man, from Morocco to be exact. I can assure you that this is the best foreign masterpiece I have ever heard in my life. My mood changes when I hear it, it takes me far away to a place I do not know. It is a song that touches my heart a lot, and addresses a widespread issue in our time..
This song is fitting as the very last #1 Billboard song of the 80s. The 80s were paradise. A great era for music and the simpler life with everyone you knew was alive. 😢

So even if your paying 2/3rds of income to rent of a yearly income of $12,000. You can suddenly find yourself out of a home, when they do a market adjustment for the area unrelated to the value of the home your living in. Phil Collins' song 'Another Day in Paradise' really touches my heart. The lyrics talk about homelessness and make you think deeply about people who are struggling. The music and his voice together create a strong and emotional message. Every time I listen to it, I feel emotional and more aware of the world around me. The way Phil Collins brings attention to homelessness is powerful. It’s a reminder that many people face hardships every day while others might not notice. His ability to make such a serious issue feel personal and immediate is what makes this song so impactful. Hearing this song makes me want to do more to help those in need. It’s a call to action to show empathy and take steps to support others, whether it’s through volunteering, donating, or simply being more aware and compassionate in our daily lives. Phil Collins’ commitment to social issues shines through, and it’s clear he uses his music to make a difference. The song might have been released years ago, but its message is timeless and still very relevant today. It’s a beautiful, thought-provoking piece that continues to resonate with listeners and inspire change.
I was military army stationed In Hanau, Germany I was 19. I remembered when this song came out. 1989 I was walking down the street in Frankfurt, Germany, and it was playing outside. Whenever I here this song it takes me back to that day, great song Phil Collins.
The fact that this song is true makes it so much sadder. Most people don't care about the homeless and are more concerned with keeping them away from their world than helping them. If you've never been through it you can never understand how horrific it is. I was homeless when I was 21 and all I wanted at the time was to be able to curl up in a couch with a cup of tea and watch TV, knowing I didn't have to leave. That was my dream, something most take for granted. Twenty years later I'm still grateful each night when I get to go to bed in a soft, warm, safe bed. If you have that, be grateful. It is a luxury. If you have that and come across someone who doesn't you can help! A $5 gift certificate to McDonald's will buy a homeless person breakfast and a warm place to sit for a while along with the knowledge that someone cares.
I never give them money anymore, as too often I would next see them with a pack of cigarettes or a paper bag with a twisted top. BUT what I LOVE to surprise them with is a roasted chicken from King Soopers, a gallon of milk and a box of donuts. Don't forget to swing by Starbucks and grab some napkins for them too. When you give it to them, they think they've just died and gone to heaven, they're SOOO happy! If you give them a $20 Texas Roadhouse gift card, they can even get a STEAK DINNER!
@@noturningback2023 Cigs or alcohol may be the only thing they are living for. Like literally. I wouldn't be so against helping them escape for a bit. I doubt they got to where they are because they just need a little go-getting pick-me-up phrase.

This song was negatively received because it's terrible.

My Father can't speak English but he sings this song as someone who has been in a place where it is fluently spoken. I like to listen to him always when the music is being played and principally when he begins to whistle.

Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do?
Oh Lord, there must be something you can say
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she's been there

Loud and clear. Just dropped the kids off at school and listening in my car.👌🏽
It's sad but this song is still relevant for the times we live in today. These lyrics tell a story and invoke emotions.
I know this very well now.. I personally had to go through the same thing myself for several months before my family could get to me to help me because they lived two states east, so happy I'm with them now
They say things change but everything really stays the same
This song is relevant for all times.
Its even more relevant sadly
Humans have accomplished SO much; but we have also accomplished so little in so many ways. I hope we become better as a species. I have hope.
it's so sad that no one is making music like this anymore..
Ugh.
Everything needs to be a dance track of old song these days.

I remember this video as a child, lone before I ever became homeless myself, and it moved me even then. Then as an adult I spent over 9 1/2 years living with no home, on streets and in shelters, had to beg at times, freezing at times because Im in a cold area of the US. It took ten years and disability diagnosis, almost dying, being raped sleeping in a park, before I finally found anyone to help and life's not perfect now but at least I have an Apt and some money and am safe.
Thank you for sharing what sounds like a very difficult time in your life! I am very glad to see that things have since improved for you and I hope and pray they only continue to do so.

So much truth in it.
[Verse 1]
She calls out to the man on the street
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"
He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there
[Chorus]
Oh think twice, it's another day for
You and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it's just another day for you
You and me in paradise
[Verse 2]
She calls out to the man on the street
He can see she's been crying
She's got blisters on the soles of her feet
She can't walk but she's trying
[Chorus]
Oh think twice, 'cause it's another day for
You and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it's just another day for you
You and me in paradise
(Just think about it)
[Bridge]
Oh lord, is there nothing more anybody can do?
Oh lord, there must be something you can say
[Verse 3]
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she's been there
Probably been moved on from every place
'cos she didn't fit in there
[Chorus]
Oh think twice, it's another day for
You and me in paradise
Oh think twice, it's just another day for you
You and me in paradise

Such a powerful message. We can choose to ignore these people or we can choose to acknowledge them and maybe even offer a helping hand. Homelessness can happen to anyone.

How can you be homeless just buy a home 🤦🏼♂️
Millions are just one monthly salary away from being homeless.
@@BW1875 those of us at poverty or lower can not keep up with the market rate changes. Which is NOT based on the condition or quality of the home. Market rate is adjusted in order to increase total taxes collected. Thus not based on the incomes of the actual groups of people at various income levels living in the area. So even if your paying 2/3rds of income to rent of a yearly income of $12,000. You can suddenly find yourself out of a home, when they do a market adjustment for the area unrelated to the value of the home your living in. And the persons who are suddenly homeless are not at fault what so ever. Its society and its greed that screwed us over.

My dad stopped in the middle of one of the town squares, and gave all of the left overs we had to the homeless. One of the most valuable lessons a father could ever teach his son.

So u was killing innocent people?
Well said sir. Help others always. God bless you!
@@gupiwa and THAT is why you NEED to GIVE THEM nutritious FOOD! For Pete's sake, it's not "helping" them to give them cigarettes or booze. Sheesh!!!
