True! I always exclude voting for the songs that are sung in English. So for me to vote for UK the song would have to be in Welsh, Scottish or Irish.

To the international fans wondering what happened to him afterwards: he had like over 70 invitations to perform abroad after just 4 days from the final and the city of Vantaa gave him an apartment 😁 legend
And a huge mural in Vantaa! He also did a tour in Europe and is planning a next one. Also, cha cha cha streamed over 100 million in spotify which is the record for a song in finnish. Nowdays he's one of the biggest staple names in finnish music scene and won biggest amount of awards (5) in finnish music awards. So yes, he's still doing great 😊

And we thought it wouldn't get crazier, this year we had 2 of those getting robbed, and the numbers are going crazy. Joost's video is already getting at 30 millions.
He even visited some schools in Vantaa including mine :)
it's almost June 2024 and I still can't believe that this absolute banger didn't win, it's by far the song I listened the most in my entire life and I doubt that another Eurovision song replaces this one as my all time favourite

@@lilsappling Personally I think that the jury vote needs to be scrapped. This lad got twice the public votes of Loreen so in my opinion he's the winner. The same thing happened with Sergey Lazarev for Russia in 2016. He blitzed the public vote but the jury gave it to that terrible whiney Jamala song. And Keino in 2019 won the public vote too. The public pay for the voting so they should decide!

You forget now that Finland's history in the contest has mainly been pathetic. You can't call the songs bold. Just a few one have been completely random and the rest have been rather mediocre.

A few mediocre entries, yes, but so so many good ones that were robbed (ie. placed much lower than they should have), and yes, a few crazy ones as well.
We have let songs like Bess - Ram pam pam and Nightwish - Sleeping Sun off the shore in the past. We hit and miss. Before we just missed lmao.

At least he won the televote in a landslide, which I would much prefer between the two votes. He was #1 in broader Europe's hearts this year, regardless of what a few silly jurors think.

problem for me is that in 5 years time we wont remember cha cha cha, well remember tattoo, and that will be seen as the winner. Most of the recognition comes to the winner not the rest sadly

@@peterdue7676 Loreen (not her fault so no harm to her), barely got a reception when she landed back in Sweden. Kaarija got a heroes welcome and then did a live performance over the weekend there which was watched Worldwide as it was on free National Finnish TV. His song took the number one spot on Spotify, beating Tattoo and is played in charts all around Europe. Tattoo isn't.
Loreen won the Juror's vote with a safe 'technical' song. Kaarija's charisma, energy, performance and personality is infectious! There's a reason so many people come back here, why so many are making cover versions and why we're all watching videos about him SINCE Eurovision.
The only other people I've done that for was Sunstroke Project (Moldova's Epic Sax guy;s band) and Alessandra (Norway's entry this year).
Trust me, Kaarija is going places after this.
