Did glass blowing in Highschool and this just blows me away, the coordination bewteen everyone, the concentration and pace, just everything. Theres very little room for mistake and these look beautiful
Back in 1992 we lived in Cortland NY. We brought our 2 1/2 yr old there to Corning Museum💙HE WAS FASCINATED🔮He has been a glass blower now for about 7 yrs. His color combos 🌈are beautiful. ~THANK YOU for sharing this video🙂
That is just truly bloody beautiful guys! Accidentally started watching the presentation thinking it was something else and ended up watching the whole two hours. Amazing stuff and amazing team work and craftsmanship!
I love that you guys found a way to keep these demos going in a manner as safe as possible. The adjustment of the cameras and gear looks pretty well thought of too.
@@BTCNSDAP Shut up and go get your shots like a big boy. We're trying to watch the creation of something beautiful, not listen to your ignorant pontifications.
I love this. When I was a child my parents took us to Corning in Rochester NY. I loved it as a 7 year old and still do. That was in the late 60’s early 70’s. How time flies. Nice work.
******I've never ever imagined that those ending fractals are product of so much work - heating, spinning, cutting, connecting, heating, spinning, cutting, connecting, etc. Wow! That's such a preciously useful set of soul, knowledge and skills, needed to create that piece of art! Thanks for showing us this amazing process.
Love the Artist/Designer/Teaching aspect of this demonstration.....been watching this channel for awhile...today enjoying having the 'Master" explain what, why and how of the process...thanks...
I spent 20 years creating an interior home wall finish that like this process you could not tell what it looked like until 2 days after the process. It changed looks as it dried. I always wanted to Time Lapse the drying but I never found a camera 30 years ago that would allow me to do that. Love seeing things as they develop and especially those things that are out of your control. Thank you for sharing, this beautiful art work.
Absolutely gorgeous. I was mesmerized watching this being made. Those boys work well together too they seem to work like an operating theatre in a hospital. Teamwork. Thanks guys for allowing us to watch. And I hope you do get to Australia now Covids on the decline. 🤠🤠🤠
Totally totally Awesome. Thank you All. For for showing us your beautiful talent. I appreciate it so much!!! Look forward to seeing more of your Art work!!!
First time seeing something this intricate. I've seen glass being blown before, but nothing like this. It's a masterpiece you and your team created here.
Every time I watch one of these, that in-oven cam footage just blows me away. Whoever made that happen is a genius, and I'm drinking to his or her health.
Right? That footage is always so stunning. You can learn more about how the furnace cam came to be in this blog post: blog.cmog.org/2016/12/12/the-view-from-inside-the-furnace/. Thanks for watching!
@@corningmuseumofglass Incredible! I used to work at a glass blowing studio in Louisiana in the 90's. It was so interesting! I never learned to blow glass, but I learn a lot about HOW it is done. Still, until today, I had no idea fused silica could withstand such heat. And what a neat way to film this for us. Thank you!
I had no idea how much time and effort went into creating one of these awesomely beautiful pieces. How I wish I could get one. I just absolutely love colored and or shaped glass.
I find very few things more calming than watching highly skilled workers at their craft. In the Uk I used to regularly visit glassworks to watch. My favourite was always Langham Glass in Norfolk, UK.
I'm stunned! It's just a masterpiece! I never would have thought it was possible if I hadn't watched this video. It always seemed to me that such beauty is made on a conveyor simply by pouring multi-colored glass into molds. But I did not know how difficult and amazing the process is!
As a boro lampworker I can really appreciate the size of this massive wigwag. Two very different yet similar worlds and experiences of glass work. Absolutely beautiful
I think that's the most amazing display of artistry I've EVER seen! Thank you for sharing this! WOW is such a small word, but WOW WOW! Y'all stay healthy and safe!
Awesomely beautiful,,the time and effort that went into making that gorgeous swirling vase must be very rewarding,,, its mesmerizing. You just want to keep looking at its beauty,,, from sand to a true work of art,you guys are all awesome stay safe and take care.
My favourite forms of art are turned wood, specifically burl pieces, and artisanal glass. I have zero knowledge of either area, but I know of all the forms I have seen around the world, these two speak to me so loudly I cannot ignore their siren call. Thanks for this lovely video!
Yes, watching these kinds of videos ( wood-turning and glass-blowing ) is very therapeutic to me. Just so beautiful, satisfying and soothing, though I know nothing about these arts. There's something about it.
Incredible skills and mastery. One can only marvel at the art that was created. Thank you for letting us watch you create such a wonderful piece of work.
Watched the whole process! Truly amazing work! I apprenticed with two different glass workers. Both have since passed away. William Porter from Anaheim in the 80s with his company neo Renaissance Glass and David Hartman here on Kauai. Both were incredible artists as well. I really miss both blowing and doing solid pieces.... thanks for the video! Look forward to watching all your old ones and the ones to come.
I loved seeing this as a child when we visited the plant. I still love my corningware. I wish they still made it. The glass they did there was awsome. I am happy that you are keeping this beautiful art alive.
I've been to the Corning Museum, it's spectacular! I have taken glass classes in Corning, mostly warm glass processes. This is a beautifully filmed segment, very instructional, and George Kennard is the master! Bravo! I loved seeing this!
I've been there too. It was a major journey, as I live on the other side of the world. I'm so pleased we stopped there. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. My husband went to a workshop demonstration while I went to the museum. Seeing all the venetian glass and hanging lamps in the glass showcase, will stay with me forever. Thankyou so much for an awesome collection. And the glass dress! Oh my that surely would stop traffic
I know this hot, hard work, but I find it almost hypnotic to watch and am amazed by the final product. You are true artists. Thank you for bringing beauty, talent, and creative vision to life.
Auto-blower, thought it was so smart to reduce moving around then heard you say it was to minimize germ spreading ! Brilliant, a two-fer! This is such a treat to watch this incredibly complex creation, the dance of team members, great art is mostly hard work, and the master handling of the molten glass (mesmerizing). Thank you so much to everyone for making this available. The last 20 minutes, nah the whole vid is a nail biter though.
I love that we can hear the sounds of the glassworking as it happens, makes it more engrossing and intimate as an internet audience. Would have liked closer shots of rolling and blowing the cup, was harrd to make out. Love this technique, beautiful.

You can see how masterful George, and all the team are by the quiet and calm atmosphere, and so few words are needed to complete the piece. How many hours all together did this piece take?
I very much enjoy these educational live streams. May I suggest spending a bit more time showing the final product? It seems an important step in understanding the process. Excellent commentary always.
I will never forget my trip to the Glass Museum when I was 12 in about 1958. An artist made me a 3" horse out of clear glass rod and it became a prized possession. I kept it safe until 2015 when it broke during a move.
While I prefer traditional shapes and patterns, this piece is Awesome! Really enjoyed watching it being made. Having the gaffer on a mic was very interesting as well.

This to me is true genius, the combination of art, science and magic to create something truly beautiful and unique
The precision, accuracy, and deliberation of glasswork and communication perfectly represent the perfect team for the perfect piece. 10/10.
The photos of it finished are beautiful. Love the blue and purple. SPECTACULAR.

If you're in Cali I collect pieces
