  • Vittorio Costantini is a Venetian glass master known for his precisely rendered small flameworked sculptures. He is inspired by nature, and he works with a range of subjects, including multi-colored insects, butterflies, birds, fish, and flowers. Costantini's pieces are celebrated for their accuracy of form and truth to detail. The film, by Academy and Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker Robin Lehman, was made at The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass in 2010. Until now, this film has only been available on DVD.

Grazie Tante ! Vittorio e Sra Costanini. You came to San Francisco I believe on the same trip in 2010 and I was able to take a two day workshop with you (& Luccio) and it was the very best! I still treasure the bird you made for class that I got from you. Ciao ~ !

This seems to be a difficult video to find when using "corning museum" keywords. Wading through the video list is daunting.
Vittorio, I absolutely love your work!

The mini figurines are soft glass i presume? I am new to working borosilicate but it looks like i could be using soft glass in a similar fashion, turn down the torch and kiln, anything else i should consider?

Vittorio is killing it, despite the horrid music overlay.

Why is there a cat running across a piano whenever he's working?

Iriss the best master craftspeople make their work look insanely easy. It’s part of the magic. 🙂.

There’s something people say when a statement like that is made. “Everyone would be doing it if it was that easy”

It looks like soft glass to me. I'm no professional but that's pretty much all I have access to and it all does what the video does
