Hi, I think you would have better luck with the fuse glued in about half way into tube instead of touching other side and gluing im your caps with Elmer's glue and setting flush with tube leaves room for a couple grams more flash, perchlorate, instead of nitrate will give a more sensitive(unfortunatey)but the sheer power is imcreadible. From the color of your flash it loks like your mag is fine enough. Dont store magnesium mixes though,bmost have a spontanious ignition danger..
Ya 3 grams is nothing,back in the day it was 5-7 which is a nice bang but to use a big tube to fill it a 1/8 of the way is just show no go,try putting triple that or buy the quarter stick sizes and dump 60 in there IDC the size of the tube it's what's inside
You’re doing the plugs backwards and please don’t stir the flash powder like that. Flash powder is very sensitive to friction so you could detonate the flash by stirring it like that. Just use the diaper method.

I hate to tell a lot of people this however that is not a safe way to make m80s, those paper plugs are supposed to be glued in upside down so there’s a cavity on each end and NOT FILLED standard 70/30 flash is enough to blow up full force with just a layer of paper, hot glue filled plugs are incredibly dangerous and will fire out a rubber bullet shatter windows blind people and leave a molt of flesh where it hits you, just glue the plugs in with hot glue or preferably wood glue and press the inside of the plug against the tube to make a good seal, here’s a video of a guy that ended up getting hit by a glue plug in the foot standing a distance away ua-cam.com/video/ZnZy2OVZcMU/v-deo.htmlsi=fRI5huTBAp6j-LIE it’s not good, I suggest clarifying it because a lot of people can get hurt seeing the standard tutorial for these on UA-cam being glue filled plugs. @@richchesebro5488 you push the flat end of the paper cup plugs in with wood glue in the sides to hold and seal it in, do not fill the hollow cavities with hot glue which leads to a bullet, you should have hollow cavities on each side since the plugs are cup shaped

I use American Visco cannon fuses with those. No, the paper plugs are not inverted like that. What you would want to do is to make a 1/4" bead around the inside of the tube end with an Adtec mini low temp glue gun. You would then want to feed the paper plug partially into the tube with a 11/32" quarter inch drive socket & extension, but only part way. Afterwards, seat the paper plug with your finger so that it is flush with the tube end. Oh, use a drill motor with a 1/8" drill bit to make the fuse holes. In addition, place a 3/8" half inch drive socket over a tube end, and pencil around it from the other end as this will give a visual indication as to how much flash powder should be used (approximately 3.0 grams). Seat the other paper plug in the same manner, but only apply the glue around the rim of the tube (not inside). No, you shouldn't use potassium nitrate and/or magnesium powder for flash powder. Actually, potassium nitrate is commonly used as a rocket propellant.

It's a bit safer with nitrate instead of perc but still WAY too much risk. ALWAYS use the diaper method for flash mixes,even some glitter mixes too.
