Not only is this one of the best NES openings, it also explains everything you need to know with two pictures: splinter pointing towards shredder, and shredder with a kidnapped April.
This game is hard as balls but is still totally amazing. One of the first three NES games I ever owned and very special to me. This and Super Mario Bros. started my video gaming career.
Still one of the most badass video game intros. Back when they couldn't rely on symphonic orchestra music and video gualityy that requires 50 Gb installations, they had to come up with memorable melodies and succinct storytelling.
One of the first video games i ever played, a very young me spent hours getting spanked by this game. Always ran out of fecking rockets for the Party Wagon and getting stuck on the surface world, lol. Little old nooby me.
Such a fantastic and great intro! I don't think they make the intro sequence for store demo any more? But either way I always was so mesmerized by this intro as a kid like I've never been after to a video game's opening sequence or title. I got to say this sounds different from my memories even as an adult playing it on a tube TV with questionable audio quality speakers built in as a more visceral experience
I wonder if Contra and Metal Gear had anything to do with me thinking of this version of the TMNT feeling more "militaristic?" It's an honest question. I distinctly remember thinking "this sounds like they're soldiers," and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Stylistically it's nothing like the TMNT cartoon show or the movie that would come later, but for a good long while this was the ONLY TMNT video game that existed. Just think about that for a minute. There was a time when this was THE ONLY TMNT VIDEO GAME.
I was obsessed with this intro as a kid 😂 I used to just sit there and restart it over and over.
The music is so iconic...never gets old.
I love this intro, but for the longest time I thought it was a cover of Queen’s “Stone Cold Crazy” lmao
@@Phrygian12hmm, you may have something there

Great storytelling
Call the game by it's real name:
Donatello and his 3 Meat Shields.
For 20 years i was insecured, that i was playing the game wrong. But now i see i wasnt by far the only one :D
Leonardo was also usefull, only mike and especially raph were totally useless.
HAHAHA! Don> Leo>Mikey>Raph Totally true :D
Lol
@@meavyhetalderzweitegrafvon8240 Mikey had some application, but I don't remember what it was. Raph was truly useless though.
Donatello best playable character in game.
I like Raphael the best in this game...he spins his sai..its fkn cool bro lol best attack animation in the game but i enjoy playing as all the turtles
@@HighFalutinTootin Mikey is ny fav, but I saved Don for last Because he was by far the strongest most useful turtle.
Don is the strongest in the game and Raphael unfortunately the weakest
Raph was stronger tho.. his range sucks but his attacks did the most damage Donnie had the range tho 🤌🏻
Donatello>>>Leonardo>>>Michaelangelo>>>Raphael
Sooooooooooooooo many memories
Marty same here.tmnt.megaman zedla Mario and street fighter and fatal fury final fantasy that was my child hood lol
Good or bad ones?As for me,bad
This game was amazing as a kid. When you didn't really care that you couldn't beat it and just enjoyed being the turtles
This game is hard as balls but is still totally amazing. One of the first three NES games I ever owned and very special to me. This and Super Mario Bros. started my video gaming career.
my first 2 were mario and p.o.w.
You mean you started to make a video game?
Crush Crawfish's theme sounds like the beginning of this 😂😂
And neon tiger sounds like a my Michelle of guns and roses
Donatello: "Come with me if you want to live."
Oooorrrr....
Donatello: come with us if you want to eat pizza.
Is that a tmnt 2003 reference
Tennage Muant Ninja Turtles was my favorite Game Growing up
One of the first games i ever played and definitely one of the damn hardest. Good times.
Always confused me growing up because I played this game first and then heard Stone Cold Crazy a few years later
Still one of the most badass video game intros. Back when they couldn't rely on symphonic orchestra music and video gualityy that requires 50 Gb installations, they had to come up with memorable melodies and succinct storytelling.
I love and miss the NES music sound quality. This and Batman have such awesome and underappreciated soundtracks.
Michaelangelo
Weapon: nunchukus
Cowabungus dude
I remember playing this game a lot at my friend's house. My favorites were Leonardo and Raphael.
"New Form of Life Itself" from Mutant Mayhem feels like a tribute to this game and this intro..!
nostalgic momments...
Look up Queen -- Stone Cold Crazy
Justo vengo por escuchar esa tonada en la canción de Queen. Interesante
this song is such a banger
Awesome how they colored their shell fronts the same as their bandanas. Only time and place I've seen it.
I am happy someone else spotted this!! It really is a unique design for the turtles!!
Ahhhh one of the sounds of my childhood

My first nes game. Didn’t even know mario existed at that point. Had this about 88. This game was hard AF!
One of my favorite games growing up.
I still get fired up hearing this 8-bit music and the whole sequence. You just had to have been a kid for Turtlemania 🐢
Good times of my childhood
Stone Cold Crazy! What a game!
Should’ve just changed the name of this game to “The Adventures of Big D**K Donnie”. “He’s got a big stick…and ain’t takin’ nooooo S**T!”
My first game!!! Damn! This brings good old memories
Queen - Stone Cold Crazy
8 Dislikes came from power rangers fans.
am a power ranger fan but i love this game spend more than 400 hours with this
A lost gem of my childhood
This game was all down here after this opening.
Don't mind me...had to rewatch this CLASSIC intro after seeing the Shredder's Revenge trailer.

Fuckin game!!!! Best ever
Donatello the boss!
Coolest shit in existence
Michaelangelo
Weapon:
Garbage.
Lol
Don and Leo are lifesavers in this game, the other 2 are just extra lives.
You don't need the TV show theme with music this good
So tell me when you first experience anxiety?
Me: …
This game literally made me bite my controller in frustration as a kid
Donatello and his 3 Back Ups 😂 Without Donatello this game would be very impossible to beat..
Music is great. The game not only don 😤
Just realized this is a rip off of Stone Cold Crazy guitar riff by Queen..
This game was epic 🔥
Yeah, you may think that the game sucks. but nah, It's just hard.
So it's not really the game that sucked, it was the player.. like me. Never was able to rescue Splinter
