Hey Steve...Eric Roth here...from the Milwaukee Train Fest group.I'm no fan of contemporary modeling, being the dinosaur that I am, stuck in my 1953 time warp, but you've done a great job of making it look interesting and fun with lots of switching possibilities. You've done a splendid job of capturing the every day dirt and grime that go with railroading, both vintage and modern. Your models look like they've been through the mill...just like the prototype.Everything about railroading is heavy, dirty, greasy, grimy, dusty, noisy, and gritty...and you've captured it very nicely.Great job.Maybe we'll see you in Hamilton for the T.H. & B. flea market the end of January.
I have looked at a LOT of layout videos here on YT, and I have to say,the scenery on the peninsula is fantastic...you've even paid attention to what it looks like behind buildings, you don't have "bottle brush" trees everywhere, and your roads, driveways, etc, both paved and dirt, are some of the best I have seen. If your attention to detail on the rest of the layout is the same, its going to be one impressive layout. Job well done.
hey Steve, very impressive! The layout, locos, rolling stock, scenery, weathering and detailing all look great! Don't know where I've been this whole time, but I subbed. Yeah, it's the same guy from TRB/TWS. Thanks for the tour, Terry
Thanks for posting the up date Steve.I really like the weathering on your buildings and rolling stock. The detail work you've put into everything is just amazing..I look forward to seeing more in the new year. Thanks again Rich
Thank you Muskoka Steve . I really like your layout. The general feel and the details are superb. Great scenery , great modelling, everything is in fine balance. Very impressive.
Great update ! Very nice job ! Really nice layout. Great weathering, awesome job ! scenery and buildings looking good ! Love it ! Thanks for sharing ! Martin
Enjoyed this update! Scenery and detail is amazing!! Love the photo backdrops and that furniture factory that served as a background for your locomotive group is a really realistic looking structure...love the lights on the outside too! Look forward to catching up on more on the next update! Keep up the great work Steve!
I have enjoyed this layout tour and got some great ideas for my new layout. Very nice work and I am a fan of Ontario Northland myself even though I'm from and still living in Washington, DC. Look forward to more tours and info about your layout.
You sure are a master at weathering. I've built many structures because I enjoyed doing it but never built a model railroad. Been wanting to for many, many years and now that I'm 70 I feel like it's to late to start. Sigh.....
About your railroad name. Have you, or do you plan on custom painting any engines or rolling stock in that livery, or is that just the ownership name and other trains run on the railroad and pay a yearly lease? Just wondering if you’ve designated a prototype plan like that, or is it just a name to identify your model railroad specifically? I’m interested in this kind of realism. Nice layout, by the way! I love watching your videos!
Thanks so much. I DO have a switcher that I made up in my MC scheme. I don't think I have it in any videos but I do have pictures. I have a few patched out Box Cars as well, but nothing specifically in Muskoka Central colours.
PS Just blown m mind with the superb structures and back-scene! Could you do a video on the use of the hole-punch for the photos? Being a Brit, sometimes the local lingo looses me... I don't understand how that would work. Thanks again.
nice looking layout and future plans , HO scale to so I really like it , that's the scale I am doing , like your choice of Ontario northland , does that mean your in Ontario , I am in Cambridge , I just starting a new layout and videos of it all , I will be doing Conrail based in St Thomas , I subbed to you , thinking your next 5 videos might just teach me some thing , about signals ,, thanks for sharing , thumbs up from me ,
Steve, amazing layout! Are you pleased with the photo backdrops? Any performance issues with them? Still deciding whether to use them on my new layout... Thanks for posting this! It will become a reference video as I begin my build. - Brian
NICE! Very nice! You might have mentioned this before in other videos and I missed it? But how do ya get down to the lower level,or do you have plans for that? Thank you for sharing! A real treat!
Really like your videos - just watched the the JMRI ones. What camera are you using Steve? I'm having problems with lighting and focus at times, but yours looks great! Thanks.

Awesome modeling! :-)
Awsome layout. Do you use the grade grossing pro for your gates and if so, do you put them side by side or a tie apart. Wondering which is better.
NICE! Very nice! You might have mentioned this before in other videos and I missed it? But how do ya get down to the lower level,or do you have plans for that?

I have a question for you. Did you or would you go through the steps on how you did your photo back drops?
I have a Cannon. I should check my soft ware. I would love to see you do a step by step. I am looking into do one for my layout.

Meant to ask how you place the sensors
