🌟 DESCRIPTION🌟
The game stars the members of Star Fox, a team of spacefaring mercenaries: Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad and their newest member Krystal participate in combat missions, while Peppy Hare and ROB 64 provide tactical support from their mothership, the Great Fox. Star Fox frequently clash with rival mercenary group Star Wolf, made up of Wolf O'Donnell, Leon Powalski and new recruit Panther Caroso; former members Pigma Dengar and Andrew Oikonny have since been kicked out of the team. Other supporting characters include Cornerian commanding officer General Pepper and Slippy's scientist father, Beltino Toad.
The Star Fox team's primary opponents are the Aparoids, a race of cybernetic insectoid creatures. They are capable of controlling machines and life forms through an infection process known as "Aparoidedation". The Aparoids operate as a hive mind under the control of the Aparoid Queen, who believes that all things exist for the infestation and seeks to assimilate everything in the universe under her control.
Assault takes place one year after the events of Star Fox Adventures. The game is once again set in the Lylat System and sees the Star Fox team traveling to many different locations, such as their native planet Corneria, Star Wolf's base the Sargasso Hideout, the prehistoric planet Sauria, and the Aparoid Homeworld. Other planets are featured exclusively in the game's multiplayer mode.

I will defend this Star Fox game’s reputation for the life of me. This was my first Star Fox ever, this gives me so many memories as an 03 baby.
This is the best Star Fox game. I wish there were more like this one. Better villains and missions.
In my opinion this was a worthy sequel to Star Fox 64, it even connects a little with Star Fox Adventures, it's so sad after Command Nintendo focused on trying to remake SF64 and forgot about this story.

I blame the 64 fans cause they kept dogshitting on Assault and Adventures, really every Star Fox game that came out after after 64, saying that they ruined the “Star Fox formula” which is just a special way of saying that any Star Fox game that plays differently than 64 is a betrayal. So Nintendo focused on remaking 64 since it was the only option that pleased the loud fans. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug man.
Assault is always gonna be my favorite because the gameplay has the most freedom and variety.
@@neroidius6915That's so true, I hadn't thought about that, personally I didn't like Adventures that much but Assault was really good, people said it was terrible just because of the amount of missions outside the Arwing, now all Nintendo is willing to produce is Star Fox 64 again and again.
@neroidius6915 well lets be real though, Adventure was straight up a zelda game with the star fox brand, while Assault had the best starship levels of the series .....but most of the time youre on the ground with those awful controls.
As someone who loved the originals enough to get a tatoo of the logo (and eventually cover it), it feels like Nintendo forgot that the starship levels are the main reason people love starfox
Adventure had almost none, Assault was like 20/80 between ship/ground combat, and Zero decided to nuke the controls making the entire game unbearable for most
With better ground controls and 2x more ship missions, assault would've been GOATed for everybody.

"Nintendo saw that people wanted more on-rails ship missions in assault, and didnt like that command didnt have any on-rails missions, so they rebooted" literally makes no sense in any context.
The story was NEVER the issue outside of a few obviously non-cannon endings in Command, blame Nintendo for rebooting and destroying the franchise lol

This game really gave a chance for Nintendo to do something different. I honestly think Star Fox would make a perfect Halo-like game with a Nintendo IP. I have a soft spot for all Star Fox games, but i always though Assault gave Nintendo an opportunity they seriously couldn’t capitalize on

Star Fox Assault is the best Star Fox game
I loved this game. I enjoyed all play modes. Only thing that could have been improved were the explosion/charged shot effects. Shooting an enemy with a charged shot didn’t feel like an energy blast, it felt more like throwing a bag of flour at something. But the level designs/gameplay and the story was all awesome!
And the dialogue needs rewriting

@thegreatestever913 A remake of Adventures could be the best option to re-introduce Krystal into the Star Fox universe. If only they could make it feel more like an actual Star Fox game and as long as they don't rush the game like Rare did with the original.

First time i played star fox n64 i was like 8 years old and begin to play that game and now im 30 now an old man but i think i begin to play it again :)
Peppy and Slippy are actually quite well voiced acted for in house work, everyone else is unintentionally funny, especially Fox. His responses are always quick and dry. Moments like 9:30 are gems that being a tear to my eye; “Really? Well, OK”
Second favorite moment is at 56:13 “What???”
The thing I love so much about this game is that despite their deferences Wolf and Fox’s story comes full circle in this game.
The quality of the soundtrack in this game still holds up.

I loved Star fox assault it was really awesome and such a fun game in my opinion.
Ratchet and Clank had been to one dimension, cerazza had to travel dimensions to save the world, you'd think they would've been dimension travel for star fox. Even when the game after this went old fashion as if his universe is simular to bayonetta even when she wasn't made when it comes to chaos.
I would love to assemble a team of modders and just remaster this. Nintendo clearly doesn’t have an appreciation of these things anymore.

We never saw Pigma again after this, so I assume he's dead
He is indeed dead. (Although he got “revived” by Nintendo for Star Fox Zero and the DLCs of Starlink: Battle for Atlas, the former is a reboot of the series while the latter happens is a crossover… including both Star Fox and Star Wolf teams with their appearance from Zero.)

Peppy actually survived. Actually, there are only two Star Fox members who canonically died/are probably dead and they are James and Pigma.
I’ve been playing this game for years and I’ve never noticed that in the cutscenes at 3:25 that the cockpits canopy is glitched above the models.
Man, I knew about the history of star fox and I've never played any of them but from what I've heard and seen so far is that its 64, adventures, and assault Storywise everything else is a mess or a remake or remaster. But Starfox has potential to be a smash hit if Nintendo were to make another star fox game that's after this, to move the story along with a new enemy and new missions and hell maybe even a few new characters added to the star fox team. Cause having both space and land battles are a pretty fun dynamic. Imagine the star fox crew in real engine holy crap that would be something, hell they could capitalize it with Shows, movies and comic books/manga.

This is an unpopular opinion, but Star Fox Adventures will alway be my favorite Star Fox game due to it's non traditional adventure gameplay. However, Star Fox Assault is an amazing follow up to Adventures and, in my opinion has the best multiplayer out of any other Star Fox game, bar none!
The thing is Star Fox doesn't have a traditional gameplay. Adventures is the 2nd arc of the franchise with Assault as the 3rd
