Heck to the no!!! he’s gonna give away every premier player we have… he probably give away Soto if he could!!! Stearns is cheap and only wants to use the farm until they get too expensive!! I see where this is going!!!
@@thomaslanzetta980 Clearly, you don't understand Baseball. 1 Having the highest payroll doesn't guarantee a world Series win. Just look at their 2023 team. 2 Good teams are built through great scouting and quality trades. The Mets have some really exciting infield/outfield prospects that could help them contend for the next ten years. 3 Teams don't want to have massive payrolls. The Mets have had their #1 pick knocked down 10 spots since 2023. When the CBA expires, MLB may decide to up the penalties on teams who blow past the luxury tax.
Would you be ok with sacrificing a #1,3, and 5 draft pick to sign a player with a QO? Do you want to have your international bonus money slashed even more? Maybe we sign a 26 yr old Vlad Jr, and lose the opportunity to sign the next Ronald Acuna.
If Mauricio is healthy (if/when) why couldn’t he be the long term third baseman? He has great pop and a shortstop background to be a solid defender. If he gets healthy and puts it together, couldn’t he be the long term third baseman?
@@jeremynitta1449 yup I like him a lot. Some how if Baty can figure it out he can be future 3B. But not counting on it. But if not McNeil holds down 3rd base, until Mauricio can get back to old self and take over 3B. Acuna is 2B of the future.
and who is to say, what would prevent them from also adding Tanner Scott, why not, still wouldn't add up to all they'd have to pay Pete - it's always great to see the Mets weaken the Braves yea.
God how did some mets fans become so spoiled? You dont need to sign every single top name in FA. Look at the dodgers, the complimentary pieces destroyed us in the playoffs, not the superstars. Get pieces that get us closer every single year. For once, i would like to be a top team every single year instead of having to reset every other one. Everyone wants to trade top prospects for vlad, pay pete, get bregman, get scott. What are we doin? lol Stearns is managing payroll flexibility so that in 2027, the mets arent running around with a $500M payroll with half these signings performing like dogshit. Chill tf out.
@AndyMilonakis-j5p They aren’t spoiled, they are just genuinely stupid human beings. This has been the most into the off season I have ever been and it’s amazing how stupid so many Mets fans are. Legit clueless.
@ they also dont just trade and spend everything all at once. Thats the gist of it. They balance developing young players, signing great players, and making smart trades. All these fans want to sign every single free agent in 2025. Then what? Sign everyone in 2026? We need balance.
The next pitcher the Mets should sign is Ryan Stanek
I agree 100%
Yes
I believe in David Stearns
Im glad you do.

Keep piling the pitchers, and we need a legit 1B. Great analisys bro
Best of the locked on series
Conversation between him and nimmo will be funny
I hope they bring back Ryan Stanic

Let’s the kids play & battle it out!!!
With the pitching staff that we have and with a bit of a weaker lineup we need another lockdown arm in the bullpen

They need another bat. Period
You are the only one here with a brain.
@@Dan-tt8sn nice self burn
Mauricio can play RF
Solid Move, Still bothered by Alonso disaster
Clay Holmes if he struggled as a starter is the 8 inning guy
That’s what I think too! If Holmes can’t be a starter, you could have a backend of Holmes, Minter and Diaz, which is the best we’ve had in years
GILBERT will be way too good to be 4th outfielder, Harper like, plays with hair on fire

Dodgers signed Roki too. Mets are nowhere near the Dodgers. After Soto, they've done little for the offense.
