Savannah is a beautiful city to visit. Lots to see, and taste. Love the history. So nice Maggie was able to visit too 🙂. Have not stayed at that state park, but have a few others there, and privately owned ones. Merry Christmas!! 🎄👍🙂
We agree that there is so much to do and see in Savannah, it’s hard to do it all in one day. We will have to go back. We hope you are having a wonderful Christmas holiday.
Hi, new to your channel. I live 20 min outside the city of Savannah, in Pooler Georgia. I take my dog into Savannah often and sight see. For anyone interested in Vanlife and not having to pay to stay, you can park overnight on the weekends for free, just be really stealth about it. There are also parking garages. If you stay in the historic district you should be fine. If you go a bunch of blocks away from the river there is free neighborhood parking, again, be very discreet as I'm sure it's not legal to sleep in your vehicle. The historic section is fairly safe, especially during the day. As a general rule, when you start seeing front yards with fences around them and trash on lawns, don't park in that area. It's harder to find parking during tourist season - all summer long.
Very cool, the white trolley is the best. Happy Maggie could ride the trolley. We love love Savanah. We never get enough. So much fun. Another great video. Bundle up and get cozy! Gonna get cold. Hope you guys are home! Love you guys. David and Juanita

Savannah, my favorite city! Thank you for the visit. If I'm anywhere nearby, I have to at least drive through town, up or down Oglethorpe Street. When I get to a new city, I try to take a trolley or bus tour. It's a good way to get an overview, decide where to focus and often you have the option to get off to visit areas, then get back on the ride.
We parked on the other side of the river, hutchinson Island at the westin parking lot, from there you can take the free water taxi, 5 min ride to the Savannah water front. Our dog loved the boat ride.
New to your channel!! The “pet friendly” caught my eye. As a couple with our “fur kid” and hoping to travel more around the USA it’s nice to see places like The Peach Cobbler Factory! I’m loosing forward to more adventures with you all and Maggie ♥️🐾♥️

That was Maggie’s first pup cup, which was whipped cream with a little bit of peanut butter on top. She didn’t know what to think about it at first but loved it when she figured it out. The cobbler was delicious especially with ice cream. Merry Christmas to you and may you have a Blessed New Year!
Don’t think I’ve ever met a peach cobbler I didn’t like, especially with ice cream. Our country’s oldest cities have a certain charm about them and there’s always something interesting to learn. Great to see you in Savannah... been there a couple of times now since our daughter goes to college there. That peaches 'n' ice cream place is makin' me HONG-GA-REE!!! It cold in NC too. We’ve been baby sitting the Ekko for the last several days making sure she stays nice an warm. Planning to get out of this cold soon.

Yes Savannah is a cool city, lots to see and the History of it is amazing. I tell everyone to go at least once.. now for the bad part, the crime is out of control in certain parts of the town. While friends of mine were having a luncheon at a well known diner in military uniform last Year, collage students started chanting for them to leave. Wokeness has taken over and its much worse during "certain celebrations" during the year. I would still recommend it to people, just ask the locals which parts of town to stay away from especially after sundown. We camp at Skidaway often and love it in the winter... Summer, not so much.
When we were walking back to our RV we walked through the not so good part of town… I think there are not so good places in any big city just glad it was day light. I think I would also prefer Skidaway in the winter. Thanks so much for your comment.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle The midnight Ghost tours are fun. Most of them start at the waterfront. Summer time is miserable with the sandfleas and mosquitoes.
New to Van Trekking (Roadtrek). How does Maggie do in the Van when you go out to dinner/shop/siteseeing etc. where dogs aren't allowed?Anything you do special? Thanks.
Maggie has always done well staying in the van by herself. We have used a pet monitor in the past but now we have a thermometer we can check, we also put a camera in the van to check on her and for security. Granted we don’t leave her for long periods of time and are always very cautions about the Temperatures.
Savannah appeared to have a New Orleans vibe to it. I wish more place were pet friendly. Most 🐕 that travel are usually pretty social and their owners responsible....Happy Trails 🐕 Merry Christmas 🎅
We love it when we get to include Maggie so we were all excited that she got to go with us. Often times we just don’t go places because we hate leaving her. We appreciate your comment.
We’ve been twice. Such a cool town and the historical society has a lock down on the old part. It’s like walking in history. We did a walking tour with a book and that was interesting but a lot of walking. River street is cool too. Great video 👍🏼
We love it. Super responsive with lots of pep. Not so much mpg 11.5-12.5 but diner it's gas instead of diesel it makes up for it a little. Loving the AWD system too.

Man please. Imma be honest it's a lot of you all who come down to this city with your entitlement and your horrible attitude. You do not clean up after your pets you let your children run amok. So yeah some of the comments are talking about crime crime is everywhere and for the most part you can just stay away like I'm pretty sure you have a HomeTown what you just enjoy that.

As others have stated, Ga parks are some of the best in the nation. I just found your vlog, so im not sure if you've been or not, but travel over to the middle west side of the state on the bama border and hit up FDR state park.. The Little White house and Warm Springs is just wonderful. Our favorite. Take 16 west out of Savannah to begin your trip if you go. Although with the weather coming in, you may want to head south. :)
We had not visited either of the parks you suggested but we will put them on our list. This was our first time really exploring Georgia so we will be doing a lot more in the future. Glad you found us.

I will say that for the way we are traveling right now it is our favorite. We are really enjoying the extra space on these longer trips.
