What a treat!
Remarkable about this clip is that it is from Sissel's All Good Things concert where she sings 'all over the place' in terms of song genre. For instance, next Pie Jesu, she sings Carrier of a Secret, a pop song of accumulative passion. With each song she alters her voice accordingly which must present its own challenge than if she sang within one genre.

Hey to you. I am norwegian ond as sutch bin listening to Sissel for many years. She has bin singing i US several times, as like with The Tabernakel in Salt Lake some years ago. She sang with the opening of winter-olympics in Lillihammer, Norway in 1994. She has bin visiting many lands and playses thru out her singing carier.11:06 es

Very much enjoy your reactions to Sissel. She has very recently release a song "I rest my eyes" that I am quite sure you would enjoy. As for older songs and videos the list is endless. From the show where she performed "Slow down" with the MTC, there were 2 songs I enjoyed, "O store gud" and the ABBA song "Like an angle passing through my room". But really whatever the language, whatever the style, Sissel is always most enjoyable.

I keep coming back to Sissel video titled 'Sissel j u l. It is over 50 min & mostly or all Norwegian. It helps me relax & feel at home even though I do not know the language. I'm 68 & appreciate more S's work as an older woman. I'm so glad others are discovering S.

Thank you, I love youre reactions on Sissel, Angelina and Aurora. 😀 I hope you will react to Sissel singing " Going Home " from her "northern lights" concert. Its mind blowing. From this concert you can pick anything and you won't go wrong.
Sissel is just fantastic! She was a young girl in Norway like Angelina and Aurora when she began singing. I really enjoy all three but Angelina is a little more relatable in overall musical styles. Sissel did all of the back up music in the Titanic movie and does a beautiful version of My Hart Will Go On.
Amira is so good. Her first performance on HGT is remarkable and all of her later concerts are beautiful as well. Another young classical singer that is fantastic is Laura Bretan. She started on AGT age 13 and is now about 20. She has a bit more power than Amira, but uses it tastefully. I enjoy her many concerts and some single releases.
There are many wonderful artists out there and we can appreciate them for the differences they create and the emotions they bring out depending on the circumstances we are experiencing at the time. Two of my favourites by Sissel are from her Northern Lights concert. She does an incredible version of Jesu joy of man's desiring, and also When you tell me that you love me with Jose Carreras which is stunning

Charlotte this song between 1998 and 2001. Hey Valerie you should react to Tommy Johannesen from Sabaton singing You raise me up and it's a octave higher challenge, he also sings Hallelujah, and O Holy Night in Swedish.

And I think you reacted with mixed feelings to this piece, because it really is - as you said - comforting to those who are left behind. I think I saw you were " fighting" your emotions in the beginning. And I totally understand that, because of the sudden loss of your husband. I hope it was comforting to you and I'm sure it will make you stronger!
