I have two echo cs 7310-P saws and I love them. I keep a 24" bar on one and a 28" bar on the other. I just took down a massive oak last weekend and the trunk was 38" at the base. My ECHO is eating right trough the toughest part of the trunk now. I have ran ECHO saws for over 30 years and so prefer them to the Stihl saws. I do not have any Husky dealers even close to me and have never ran a Husky. I do 60-70 full cords every year and all with my ECHO saws. I loved the video and really appreciate you and your channel.

First impressions...About what I expected and have seen with other Echo models. Does the job but very mild out of the box. Rich carb settings from the factory and over goverment regulated exhaust. I can't wait for it to get broken in, rings set, and opened up some so it can breath/flow so we can all see what it is really capable of doing! Nice saw, and having a few extra moldy Benjamins left in the wallet is always a good thing!👍

Yes! break in, open the muffler, pull the limiter caps, and it is an ok saw, base gasket delete and they get a bit better at least the couple small ones I have.

Echo was the industry standard for emissions that all saw manufacturers had to comply with in the early 2000s they are tough saws. I bought my first Echo saw in 2004 it still runs great and has never been touched, still factory original. New bar and chains that’s it. Adam you’re going to love it. Keep on cutting 😎

Wait until you see how clean the air filter stays! Let her rip. Only saw better in this size range is the Dolmar 7900! Their switch is up for choke and down for stop; and it is a momentary down that automatically returns to start position. Every saw needs that feature!

I have had the echo 7310 for 3 years and I like the saw however I have found out it is heavier and doesn't have the high end rpm as other saws in the same class ie the jonsered 2171 or husky 372. Just my 2 cents.

    • @benjaminleslie3155
      @benjaminleslie3155 11 місяців тому +2

Well from what I understand, the oe 372xp/jred 2171 could rev very high because of the mass of the piston, that's partly why the xtorqs don't rev as high but have better low end power, because most pro saws are now strato and typically require the piston to have more mass for the extra channels for the ports. Now I know the echo isn't a strato saw but it does have a big piston in it. I hear people describe it's power likening it to an xtorq. But I've never touched any of those saws unfortunately so I could be completely wrong 😂

You cut down on the rounds then roll them over then cut through. So here's an idea cut through the end of the log first then cut the rounds. So the rounds are split before you cut them off the log.

Haven't found found a solid answer online yet, but it runs like a non strato saw.
Just reminds me of older saws in the way it runs. Runs more like a 200 or gen1 300 series husqvarna saw.
My opinion, but I think that echo would respond very well to port work.
You get 5 gallons of fuel through it, it mite need a very miner carb adjustment. But it's definitely improving as it runs.
    .
Basically in current production husqvarnas, the 390, 395, 3120 are the only non strato saws left being made.
Strato saws are basically an emissions thing, where a portion of the air goes in the saw without fuel mix with it. Tell its in the combustion chamber. Or that's my best understanding.

Do you think it got better as it broke in or did the operators just learn how to feed it a little slower? I'll definitely be in line to run it and the 592xp at HFH2024!

Not sure what but almost sounds like tight chain, sprocket nose, clutch, brake, dry rails something draggy almost stopping the chain once off the throttle not like the normal chain wind down. Needs a chance to break in and tune the carb but right now it sounds a bit doggy with no snap as Adam pointed out which is most likely low speed needle adjustment needed and 4strking on the high end. Positive note Adam's PROTOS helmet is looking good and would like his opinion review on a might spendy helmet.👍

I have a large Husky, a Medium Echo, abd a small Stihl. I don’t know if it’s the size if the Echo or what, but I almost always reach for it. Anyway I bought it because that’s the best dealer in my hometown. Mine really did wake up after running
    about 10 tanks

Understood I just follow the manual in my stihl saw to run it less than 100% for the first three tanks of gas. I think the number was 70%. And after your first start, let it idle for 10 minutes at least that’s what my manual says. Thank you for responding.

Curious, there was a lot of bogging down, something on that size log shouldnt happen with a 73 cc saw. were theguys pressing the saw, or taking it easy on the throttle. also, curious no breakin time before full throttle? trying to learn something from this. saw looks great, sounds great, good luck with it.

If you wanted to try a Mikita I have a couple of them I bought from Home Depot that were rentals. Saws looked fairly new other than the bars had been painted orange. They are 6421 basically a 65cc pro saw but those saws have the same bottom ends as a couple of their bigger saws so you can buy the top end for a 79cc saw for it if you wanted they have another in between can't remember either 71cc or 73cc. I paid $250 each for them buying one new I think is somewhere around $650. They don't make that model anymore but pretty sure they have a new version of the same saw imagine they are still renting them. The ones I have I got 4-5 years ago.

Well I have a Stihl and an Echo but the echo is much smaller so hard to compare.
I’ve had the homeowner echo for 10 years at least and it’s been used way more than its potential….. still starts and runs every time.
Honestly it sounds like it needs to rev a bit more and a port job will make it breath better.
My prediction is husky and stihl will outperform it… not by a lot but that’s my guess… but maybe the echo will last longer as it’s Japanese??

They're set up very very conservative from the factory. They offer a 5-year warranty. Your average homeowner will never blow that thing up within 5 years. Unless they manage to run straight gas through it which wouldn't be covered anyway 🤣

Truth is, Stihl switch direction is upward, BUT it's a PULLING motion with your fingers on your right hand, AFTER you swing it around with bar facing rearward (like op manual shows for walking around with it). The Husky you have to PUSH down with your thumb. BOTH work fine, but I think pulling up with fingers is a little more ergonomic than pushing down with thumb.

Hello, I had a big dilemma about which 70cc saw to buy.
    572XP MS462 or 7310P
Considering that I already had 3 Echo saws, I decided on the 7310. The Echo 7310P is the most useful and looks the best, it seems to me to be of high quality and long-lasting, this is my amateur opinion, maybe I'm wrong. The Stihl MS462 is really just as good a saw, but it was a bit more expensive, the Husqvarna 572xp I didn't like its construction, I have the feeling that it could have been made much better, I didn't like the quality of the plastic and the final construction.
I am very happy with the 7310P and I think it will serve me for many years.
I have a question which saw to buy 90cc MS 661 or 592XP
