That's just one of his legitimate beefs...The others were 1. He was there 1st, encroaching urbanization...ecosystemic ruin do to over hunting his deer, and moving the deer due to destroying the territory of the deer and mountain lion habitat. We should either feed the Mountain lions to preserve their kind, or fence the area and regularly restock the inside with living deer from other places where over population has occurred; I think then you won't see any more Mountain Lion's walking the paths they've walked for hundreds of years!

Don't be stupid. The owner did the smartest thing he could have by not interfering. Those dogs obviously had full control of the situation, but if the owner had called them back to him they would have been doomed the second they turned their backs on the cougar.
The kind that wants to stay alive and avoid being attacked. Sorry, if I was in that situation, my 5'1" butt would have stayed inside. The dogs have a way better chance of staying alive than my clumsy a**
It was smart for the owner NOT to come out. People say "protect the dogs" but It would've made dogs more aggressive seeing the owner behind them, and it could've provoked an attack by the cougar. Dogs were smart by driving cougar away from the house..... instincts in both the dogs and the cougar worked perfectly to resolve conflict.
markv1 Makes sense to me. The cougar didn't seem all that interested in fighting anyway. Maybe there was only one dog it would have been different, but I don't know for sure.

markv1 just gonna say plenty of people keep eye contact and send cougars on their way who are a lot bigger by just doing so. Not being scared of something locking eyes shows it you might be a predator as well and better off avoiding you or suffering from if they don't.

Simon Not unless it feels cornered. Cats generally avoid fights, unless if maybe it's against another cat for territory. Even then, it's a last resort.
Cougars are usually non-confrontational, and they especially do not like to be outnumbered. There was a video of a cougar actually running away from and being chased up trees by at least two or three coyotes, even though it could have killed them with a few swipes of its paws. If a cougar will run from coyotes, it certainly wouldn't want to risk a fight with two 60+ pound dogs that could do some serious damage. Huskies are very tough, athletic dogs, and German shepherds have an incredibly powerful bite which is second only to the rottweiler. So if the cougar and the dogs did fight, the cougar would win, but it would get some serious bite wounds and broken bones in the process.
Also depends on how territorial and powerful the dogs are. Also intelligence plays a great part. If the dogs fought smart and didn't hold back, in my opinion, the dogs would win but would have some serious injuries from the cougars sharp claws and teeth.
***** *Just like a lion or cheetah, A wounded cat is a dead cat*. *Because it can't hunt anymore, the cougar would win most definitely, but it would come with it's life, not because the dogs are most powerful, but because it would die from infection*.
***** *In my perspective its a possibility it can get a serious fatal wound in a scrap with two dogs.* *Maybe not as serious as a usual fight confrontation because these are house dogs and they don't look well trained, plus some cougars can be more experienced than other cougars, but some have been killed by a dog.* *I can't really recollect any information of a cougar dying from infection, but why not?* *Felines suffer from a internal infection called (peritonitis) an infection that affects the kidneys of feline's*. *A wild cat can die from infection just like lion's & cheetah's do, although lion's usually heal rapidly they're built to handle injuries. Infections is a 50/50 in my perspective.* *A documentary I once saw showed this lion in the Masai Mara all scrapped up from an attack and the tail broken, next day she was fine.* *"Lion's are incredible healers.*" *Cheetah's are screwed because if a paw is injured they cannot run if they cannot run they can't hunt if they can't hunt they can't protect themselves and their cubs.* *It's a slow death*.
Interestingenough4 I think cougars are VERY confrontational. But they are with other predators, not at all with humans. There's tons of footage of cougars taking on wolves, bears, jaguars, etc. They don't really back down. When it comes to humans though, they stay far away for the most part.
***** yeah thts now tho maybe a couples years ago wen human discovered coagers there was abit of confrontation then coagers learnts to stay away from us even tho they can kill us easily if we are not armed

Check yourself because you may be an idiot. What if the feline that you love so much came at night and ate you? You claim to not like viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites, but what do you think a feline is? It's a carnivorous parasite that feeds on other animals. They have no soul and no bonding ability. A dog has spirit and aspirations as well as loyalty and love for its pack members. Ever notice how dog people are always out and about, doing things and being productive, enjoying life, like a dog would. Then we have cat people, who sit in the dark making inflammatory statements on UA-cam in their house with 60 stupid cats shitting and pissing all over the place. ***** The only superior thing about a feline is its "loserness?" You must be living in an alternate universe where black is white and white is black. Cats are gorgeous creatures, magic apparitions. Good video. The dogs did their job and stood their ground - protecting their territory. The cougar might learn not to go near human houses with large dogs (small dogs would become lunch) - and preserve it's own life by not having to be shot for being too close to ppl. It's a "win - win" for everyone. HOWEVER - the owner should have joined the dogs in intimidating the cougar. The cougar would not have tried to attack the human with the dogs harassing it. The human should have come out and made noise and thrown stuff at the cougar. That's how they teach bears to stay away. They use Karelian bear dogs.

Dogs were smart by driving cougar away from the house..... instincts in both the dogs and the cougar worked perfectly to resolve conflict.

*****
*Just like a lion or cheetah, A wounded cat is a dead cat*. *Because it can't hunt anymore, the cougar would win most definitely, but it would come with it's life, not because the dogs are most powerful, but because it would die from infection*.
*****
*In my perspective its a possibility it can get a serious fatal wound in a scrap with two dogs.* *Maybe not as serious as a usual fight confrontation because these are house dogs and they don't look well trained, plus some cougars can be more experienced than other cougars, but some have been killed by a dog.* *I can't really recollect any information of a cougar dying from infection, but why not?* *Felines suffer from a internal infection called (peritonitis) an infection that affects the kidneys of feline's*.
*A wild cat can die from infection just like lion's & cheetah's do, although lion's usually heal rapidly they're built to handle injuries. Infections is a 50/50 in my perspective.*
*A documentary I once saw showed this lion in the Masai Mara all scrapped up from an attack and the tail broken, next day she was fine.* *"Lion's are incredible healers.*" *Cheetah's are screwed because if a paw is injured they cannot run if they cannot run they can't hunt if they can't hunt they can't protect themselves and their cubs.* *It's a slow death*.

You can't make cat do any of those cuz they're more stupid and don't understand it.
Once my Rooster chased away a Cougar..believe me..
Details please
I do I live on a farm my rooster ran at a grey wolf than we came out side and it ran away I had a male Muskovy duck and it was really aggressive and it charged a black bear
Wolf Ridge Farm bet that black bear ripped that thing apart
That Rooster fucks
dude my rooster chased off a fucking coyote that shit was funny cause my rooster was massive and very fucking aggressive, he was only scared of one person and would only submit to me lol.
That shows the badassery of a German Shepherd honestly
Holy Shit!!! That Cougar looked skinny and malnourished. But still dwarfed those Dogs WOW!
@Andrew Smith I think the Cat was just playing..
They use Karelian bear dogs.
human doesn't need the dogs to defend himself from cougar. It's enough for him to come out with knife or small axe and a big cat is down
szymusiek1980 you are wrong u cant fight a cougar with a knife or axe its much risk if u fail the cougar could kill u the dogs knows how to deal with it its on their nature they detect and intimidate the cougar like wolves would do
Those dogs would have been lunch to if the cougar really wanted to kill them.
Eric M one on one - yes... but canines work in packs. you ever see how effective wild dogs are in Africa? the very land of the big cats.
Eric M true
people keep talking about dogs an pitbulls. That big ass mountain lion would make lunch out of ANY dog.....
You think that's big? Lol no. Maybe a real, big lion. A real trained dog or a big pitbull v.s that thing? Those dogs were tiny. Plus a pitbull probably would have attacked it on sight
+CPmuddle27 tiny? German Shepherds are bigger than pits my friend... and cougars have been known to kill wolves(which are bigger ,stronger than a pit)
Because a pitbull has no brain and would get killed
ANY dog? You are vastly overestimating the power of a mountain lion. 2 or 3 german shepherds could take one down. One goodly sized caucasian shepherd could kill one as well, they breed and train those dogs to hunt bears.
Zeno Kazuya we are talking about 1 v 1
Dogs keep looking at the man like “Alpha, could you oh idk..maybe HELP”
The cougar is just trying to walk away and if it killed a dog animal control would kill it
And the dogs are almost its size
Animal control would never find it, lol
Vince Golder true
Vince Golder I could by it's initial gait that we were dealing with a felon with 24 priors
The last bark sounds like a desperate one. Well done owners!
I agree did sound like a desperate bark hope both dogs are OK alright Cheers
You people just want an excuse to be angry at this point, I'm convinced
I hope the husky was ok
Dogs are probably thinking: “is this Biscuits cousin he always talks will kick our bums? Damn, he wasn’t kidding…”
The video is missnamed. If the coughar would have really been hungry the owner would have been minus one dog. Should have been titled "Dog annoying a cougar"
beautiful to see the comradery between the husky and german shephard, when the cougar charges the husky, the german shephard is right behind him 😊
GET OUT THERE AND PROTECT YOUR FAMILY FFS YOU COWARD
they're dogs not humans.. I mean I love my dogs and all but with something like that I'm not gonna risk my life
Les Salazar "risk my life"
A few dogs and a huge human VS a tiny little cougar.
Cougars aren't stupid. This man, however, is a coward.
" they're dogs not humans.. I mean I love my dogs" And yet you refuse to call them family. You sure don't sound like you love your dogs.
+Plague Doctor I mean yeah, I can consider them as family but they are not my brother or mother. This guy could be screaming at it from the window but I wouldn't go out there with it.
Les Salazar
Then you're a coward too. Congrats.
+Plague Doctor It's a dog. If it was one of my brothers then it's a different story, I would go out there but if it's my pet I'm not gonna risk it and get myself killed or injured. I'm not a coward, I'm using common sense.
The owner wasn’t concerned because he believed his dogs could take out a Cougar!
So the owners delusional🤪
