    Good old Donny Sutherland - all his dreams must have come true interviewing U2. Although the boys look rather bored.

      Policeoftruth90 boomerang... two versions of that song, boomerang 1 and boomerang 2, both on the remastered bonus disc of the unforgettable fire ... some great songs on that bonus disc well worth getting and fits in well with disc 1 ( as a single album / playlist ) .. just ditch elvis Presley and America ... the rest of the tracks, will make a great playlist to drive 2

    Interesting interview, before the success of JT, after which as the band got too big Hewson became less open than this in interviews. What's also interesting were his comments on the paramilitary war in Ulster & how little impact it had on people living in Dublin, proving Hewson's bogus statements regarding the personal inspiration for the song 'Raised by Wolves' 30 years later.

    • @goldenhourkodak
      @goldenhourkodak 3 роки тому +3

      Raise by Wolves was a story about a friend of his who witnessed a bombing and suffered PTSD from it. It's not about Bono's personal experience which was minor.

      @@goldenhourkodak I'm not sure that I buy into the story about "a friend's" experience either, I think he makes this stuff up.

      @@goldenhourkodak I went to Joshua tree 1987 - Pop mart 1997 - after that saw every tour on video- been a fan since 1983. Even called out to Bono at the back of the stadium- he turned around and said he had to go inside and couldn't chat- I've done everything a normal U2 fan ( without being a worshipping wack job) can do. I say now- after billions of dollars made and wallpaper music and Bono's voice being totally GONE - it's over. U2 gave they're best, time to hang up the hat.

    • @goldenhourkodak
      @goldenhourkodak 3 роки тому +2

      @@oreally8605 Did you see the 2017 Abbey Road performance? I'd say Bono's voice was better there than it had been in a while. He lost his voice countless times over PopMart & Elevation as well.

    • @oreally8605
      @oreally8605 3 роки тому

      @@goldenhourkodak True. But this time it's GONE felt that way all along (pardon the pun) Bono talks through songs he doesn't sing them anymore, the song list cuts four important albums, and a concert with 100k people is only a hour and a half. Rush when they were a band gave a 3 hour show (in comparison) Bono better see the best throat surgeons in the world- because I'll be darned if I pay $135 to see them again. Yes they are some of the best song writers ever- but add to that- everyone in the world has a U2 record. It may not be over- but its winding down.
