  • The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza co-presented a two-part panel discussion, "The Work of the Warren Commission, Half a Century On: Its Methods, Successes & Questions." The second panel featured several members of the Warren Commission staff to discuss their roles on the commission and how the experience affected their professional lives. Judge Burt W. Griffin, Justice Richard M. Mosk, Justice Stuart R. Pollak, Professor W. David Slawson and Howard P. Willens made remarks moderated by Professor William J. Bridge, SMU Dedman School of Law. They were joined by Dallas attorney and former Warren Commission staff member Jay M. Vogelson and SMU professors Lackland H. Bloom, Jr., Chris Jenks, Dennis M. Simon and Tom E. Stone. The presentation took place October 11, 2013 on Southern Methodist University's Dallas campus. It was presented in partnership with the SMU Dedman School of Law and the John G. Tower Center for Political Studies. To see related films, photos, documents and oral histories from The Sixth Floor Museum's collection, visit our online collections database (emuseum.jfk.org). • @billkeon880
      @billkeon880 Рік тому +1

      I thought so for years as well jimbo. BUT the meme of the upper back/neck wound placement comes from the hole in the clothes. However if you Google pictures of the limo from Dallas Morning News you see two crucial things the verify the WC findings. To answer your question, the first is that pictures show that Kennedy’s clothes were bunched up on his back. When he slid down in his seat the jacket and shirt got pulled up like is does to me and most other people at times. You can see the bunching riding up in the pictures. This would make the hole appear lower when the clothes were laid out flat. The second thing the pictures show is that Kennedy is clearly sitting about 6-8 inches to the right of Connelly. That messes up Jim Marr andOliver Stones line diagram that conspiracy buffs rely on to attach the single bullet theory. Spector got it right. Oswald’s rifle angle lines up perfectly for the throat wound. The autopsy X-ray showed no bullet left in Kennedy’s throat path, so a metal jacketed bullet from behind would pass through into Connelly. Entrance wound in both men had entrance abrasion collar on posterior sides of their bodies (not anterior) and Kennedy’s wound was round (direct entry) and Connelly’s wound was oblong (from a tumbling bullet which occurs after a bullet gets deflected of leaves another body. All the evidence supports the WC

    It’s true the grief was overwhelming. My dad was about 27 years old. He found out about the assassination when he walked into a small convenient store after work. In those days they published an evening paper. He saw the headline ‘Kennedy Shot.’ He thought it was Robert Kennedy. He just couldn’t conceive that it was the president. He cried when he got home. I was a four months old at the time. My dad didn’t cry often, so it all meant a lot to him. I still have his 1960s copy of the Warren Commission report. I read it cover to cover. It’s pretty convincing.

      What a farce! One participant of the Warren Commission after another assures us that they followed every lead; that there was only two bullets which came from behind; that there was only one shooter etc. Then when questions are allowed they have to admit that they were not allowed to see the photos and xrays of the President's body. Unbelievable! How are we supposed to take any of these guys seriously?

    1 thing to me that stands out an it's in plain view frame by frame an in slow motion on zapruder film is last 2 shots right on top of each other over a second apart. 1st of last 2 shots from rear you see briefly jfk lean forward that was a rear shot then a second later at the most a close front right side shot where jfk falls hard back an to his left. It's right there on film it's not a witness or talk discussion. Of course you won't hear this in Warren commission report. We clearly know now it was just the lone wolf Oswald 3 shots 6 floor cover up so they thought we could let it go an move on.

    Willens book is really excellent, I agree. It shows how implausible and ridiculous that there was a conspiracy not so much at the level of evidence, which is dealt with amazingly well in other books, but in the workings of day to day investigations like these. It would be impossible to have a conspiracy. The Warren report is also excellent despite a few shortcomings
