Fun fact: The opening "Specialz" was written from the viewpoint of a cursed spirit. We know that a cursed spirit would find all this death and chaos pleasurable. So Yuji breaking down and crying while they put the opening song is an allegory for Sukuna to mock him and taunt him while he's literally at the lowest point of his life right now
This is good, and I love the parallels, except Sukuna isn't a curse spirit, he's a curse user, a sorcerer who uses their cursed techniques for malicious purposes. After he was killed, his body was turned into 20 special grade cursed objects by (Spoilers)
Kenjaku
What do you mean by this I've seen this same post on several videos and have yet to get your meaning. I preferred the revelation that the blond cuck got sliced because he ran the wrong way into sukana s domain
@@TheEclipse420yeah, even Sukuna said that Mahoraga would have one tapped him if he were a cursed spirit with the sword of extermination
yeah like the other replies state, sukuna is just human, a really messed up and deformed one at that but yeah
@@TheEclipse420 He was never killed, he just turned himself into 20 pieces using Kenjaku knowledge, but he was NEVER killed by anyone
We love seeing the appreciation y’all have for this show! Sukuna has the AURA. And you got to see Megumi finally summon the ace shadow, Mahoraga. As you guys said, free the Mappa team from their working conditions as they have worked incredibly hard and their CEO is just led by greed. I didn’t expect for you guys to love this as much as you did considering the lukewarm reaction to Season 1, but I suppose that’s the power of the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and Shibuya Incident arcs. When I read this in the manga for the first time recently it was an insane ride and it’s still not over yet.
The Shibuya incident started whenever Gojo crossed that veil amd it hasnt stopped 😶
We saw multiple times in S1 that Megumi was about to unleash something powerful and throw his life away. But it's so funny that when it FINALLY gets used, it's against Haruta of all people. Mahoraga. Sukuna shows up and has fun for a bit but unlike with Jogo, he realizes that having fun won't be enough for this thing. If it adapts to all of his moves, there won't be a path to victory. So he has to take it out in one blow. Then he demolishes most of the city, annihilates SO MANY PEOPLE(including Haruta who's luck had ran out) and then makes Yuji see and experience it all so he can laugh at his misery. Once again, Sukuna is not Yuji's friend. He is not on his side at all. Yuji's suffering and despair brings Sukuna entertainment. Just like how he laughed with Mahito when Junpei was killed in front of Yuji. He is diabolical. And now, Nanami is back. Nearly burnt to a crisp but still walking. Where does his path lead to, I wonder?
Fr, people keep thinking Sukuna is Kurama lol
Cringe corny ass copy paste comment lmao
Haruta isn’t weak, especially with his CT. Not to mention Megumi was literally bleeding out after being stabbed multiple times. There was no reason for him not to use his trump card at such a time.
@@c3p6well haruta actually is weak asf, but that’s just cause he doesn’t know how his ct works
If he did he’d be strong asf yeah
wtf is this essay
Mahoraga being summoned against the blonde guy is literally the Hydrogen Bomb VS Coughing Baby meme.
I wasn't sure what Sukuna meant when he said, "I would have lost back then". But after this reaction, I realized that he's talking about when him and Megumi fought way back in S1.
It’s a lot clearer in the manga but yeah you’re 100% right. In the manga it shows a panel right from that fight
I thought it was obvious off the bat. He says that then it forms Megumi before forming the Moharaga and he exclaims how much Megumi interests him
@@Step43099there was a lot happening, at first I thought it might have meant when he was still alive, which sounded absurd. Pretty obvious in hindsight, he was only one or two fingers strong in S1.
@@Folkmoot 3, actually, but close enough
As a manga reader, this speculation section is crazy XD
"Mahoraga" is actually the "mistranslation", you can clearly hear in the episode "Makora", but mahoraga is kinda correct too. it's some complicated japanese language thing.
To elaborate "Mahoraga" is a Buddhist/Hindu race of deity like things. If we translate it from the original Sanskrit we get Mahoraga.
However if we translate it from Sanskrit to Japanese, then the english Phonetic translation is Makora.
The easier explanation would be that,
Makora is just how japanese people pronounce Mahoraga
@@znaz8114 Honestly true. Im on so many painkillers that I can't think properly XD.
Edit. I think the main reason why i went with my explanation is I can hear hints of the hora in the japanese Ko (or atleast when they say Makora) so I think its a deeper linguistic problem in the double translation but I'm not certain with that theory.
@@znaz8114
大嘘で草生える
It's not a mistranslation Mahoraga (महोरग) is Sanskrit but Makora (摩虎羅) is Japanese, that's it.
I'm loving the theorycrafting. Accurate or out to lunch, its good to see theories that are based in an actual understanding of the things the show has been establishing about the power system. JJK is an easy series for that stuff to blur together and drift into the background, but its done well and stays consistent.
#REAL VILLAIN LESGOOOOOOO
"He just Oppenheimered"
Yes..He totally did
"If you start putting fingers into another person what would happen?"
That made me giggle like a stupid highschooler.
This episode, megumi and the narrator both said makora instead of mahoraga which proved that the English translators all this time lead us astray with the original name in sanskrit instead of how it's pronounced/called in Japanese. Malevolent shrine, cleave and dismantle were mistranslated tho. Crunchyroll really came up with weak sauce like fillet and disect lol Malevolent kitchen isn't exactly a wrong translation as it means both shrine and kitchen but we all prefer shrine xD
WELL I DONT PREFER SHRINE!
Really tho, I like kitchen much better, also Fillet and Dissect cause it communicates the cooking theme of Sukuna way better, which is important cause they didnt show the cooking knifes in the anime, so that tidbit is left out the puzzle for anime onlys.
@Ozone946 alright...I guess I should've said the majority prefer shrine xD...but I get your point tho. Fillet and dissect don't have that rawness of dismantle and cleave likewise with mahoraga/makora but in this case we got clarification that we had it wrong from the jump...except the French they always translated mahoraga to makora lol
@@yorozuyanex5625 it’s true. The original names sounded more menacing, but I like the idea of Sukuna being a simple chef that coincidentally also is the strongest guy out there and will eat you
@@Ozone946 Man that shit sounds goofy af
@@user-783hhss7w2oifhe tell that to sukuna while he's eating you lmao
The Ten Shadows Technique is possessed by the Zenin family, allowing them to collect and summon up to ten different shikigami or spirit creatures. These ten shinigami are two Demon Dogs, Nue, Toad, Great Serpent, Max Elephant, Rabbit Escape, Piercing Ox, Round Deer, and finally the Makora. However, not a single person who has used the Ten Shadows Technique has ever succeeded in taming Makora.
Actually Mourning Tiger is the 10th, Mahoraga isn't included in the count
@@jaynek.4821I think it's more correct to say the two dogs are counted as 1 shikigami, since they are received at the same time for free and it fits the correct number of shadows
@@jaynek.4821 Thank u for the clarifying. we haven't seen the tiger right?
@@MinhPhuongNguyen-hp8ptwe have not seen the tiger but we can see bits of it on Agito
It's Shibuyover.
One question I have about the subjection ritual. If Megumi had to solo (+ his already tamed shikigami) how the hell did he beat the rabbits? Did you see their kung-fu? Even Toji elected to dodge their kicks, rather than risk taking that hit. Those things would dumpster most sorcerers.
Probably just zap them with nues lightning, the rabbits aren’t exactly op
@@farsous10 woosh!
insane episode

My husband is amazing😍
Gojos ancestor that lost to mahoraga was probably around the level of gojo was before he mastered reverse curse energy

It's Shrine, not Kitchen
Y’all always take forever to drop the new episode
Seeing how insane Makora was makes me concerned, Megumi almost used the nuclear launch codes on Todo in S1 after a slightly minor inconvenience...
He never indented to use Makora against Todo FFS
Megumi only thinks about using it when he's literally about to die or the problem is too big like Sukuna coming back
if u think he would have used it vs todo unironically, you might be a bit dumb lmao
@@marcioamaral7511but it's soooo much funnier to think he was using the nuclear option
@@Folkmoot
I didn't laugh at that moment,Todo was funny ar first but then turned into an unnecessary bully, even though I understand why he's like the way he is
Still love him though, after that he became one of my favorite characters
Is it right that
whats with the censorship edit on the jjk vids like you can see so little of it their is barely a point,,especially on these episodes with fast paced action scenes
Bc Copyright. Almost every one of our JJK videos either gets taken down, or we end up having to cut out a huge chunk of the episode to even upload it. For what ever reason we get a copyright claim on almost every episode and they get blocked from being uploaded. This is the best way for us to get around it.
@@WorkingTitleReacts that makes sense, its a shame when channels seem to get targeted regarding specific shows.the channels that targeted seem random as channel size varies.
Yeah it’s unfortunate. It doesn’t make sense bc sometimes large channels get away with it while other large ones don’t and same for small channels.
Just some context from a translators perspective: Makora, Malevolent Kitchen, Fillet, and Dissect aren't mistranslations. They're very literal translations.
Makora specifically is an actual mythical being in Buddhism, it's just that it's English name is Mahoraga. And again, Sukuna's attacks are translated very literally. The 'spelling' for Kitchen and Shrine are the same so Cleave being 'Fillet' and Dismantle being 'Dissect' check out when you look at it from that angle. Unfortunately Japanese is a language where a lot of it is just interpretations and for some reason the translator for this week didn't check the already established naming convention.
Things happen. Happy ya'll enjoyed the spectacle of an episode.
Yeah there are always several translations for every kanji but there is only one that fits the context and kitchen or fillet ain't it lol. The kanji 足 for example can mean foot or sufficient which are obviously very diferent words that have no immediate relation to eachother. Both are correct translations but a translator who actually knows his craft would choose the one that fits the situation.
I don't know why, but Malevolent Shrine sounds much more suitable and divine for someone deemed to be an ancient 'king of curses'. It might be a literal translation, but Malevolent Kitchen took the kick out of it. It sounds so....lame. Just my opinion though, others seem to enjoy it with the "let him cook" memes.
9:35 kitchen can be right translation as well. We lose meaning during translation anyway.
manga readers flinched when hearing a certain commentary in this episode 😰
Cutting Through reality 💀💀
The entire arc is the incident
BEST EPISODE HELL YEAH
Also thats the tv he's not cutting reality

39:39 There is actually a studio on YT currently animating the Black Swordsman Arc, (if it's good) I would love to maybe see it on this channel whenever it comes out.
"Fine I'll do it myself"
I like the subtle nod of Sukuna getting a drink and popcorn before pure cinema unfolded before our eyes
