Hey, Its me who was asking for the video. Thanks that helped a lot.
The reasoning behind be asking was that for me in almost any given situation, a close handed shot is more convenient?
The only situation where I make use of a open handed shot is, as you mentioned yourself, when performing a snake shot and change it into a pull kick.

Thanks for another great video. Can you give some tips on on how to practice for open handed grip? how to improve accuracy(avoid uncontrolled sprays), passing(lateral) speed and timing?

Watching Unreal Foos has helped so much with control and technique. I've beat everyone at my college so far ;)

Good to hear! Make sure you tell your buddies to watch Unreal Foos as well :) If they get better, then you will get better as well.

In Belgium, we all play Collignon-style. Rarely will you see close handed shots. Im learning the push kick though, but its hard on jupiter tables.

I've been playing foos off and on for about 20 years now. Ill play pretty regularly for about 2-3 years maybe a liitle less or more at times. In between those periods I've had anywhere from a year to 5 years off. My point being is I don't consider myself a rookie or novice player. I am by no means a pro but I'd like to think I have some game LOL! I just started watching your tutorials recently and they have help my game tremendously! I have always played with what you call an opened handed grip. When I play goal I usually don't have much issue getting shots off but when I play front I am always shooting long or wide, whichever you want to call it, on pull and push shots. I've tried incorporating the closed grip to my game but cant seem to get comfortable with it and loose so much shot speed I quickly give up trying it. I don't really have a place where I can put in quality practice time. That being said is there any suggestions you might have for me to generate a quicker shot, other than keep at trying the closed grip. Which I have a feeling will be your answer but it never hurts to ask LOL. Thanks for any help.

When talking about open/closed shoot I assume we talk about pinshot. Because it does not make sense to compare a closed pull kick with an open handed pinshot. I do not think a closed handed pinshot makes the shooter faster. I prefer open handed. I can walk the ball open handed and Maura Porrmann is ranked 2nd in world list of foosball for female. Look at her shots: ua-cam.com/video/f17oppdZ6jo/v-deo.html

close handed is quicker and is good for more aggressive plays while open handed is better for angled shots and 2 bar shots due to the amount of power it has

Zeke, this is the best Foosball tutorial out there. It's nice that you speak to people that don't know how to play at all. I feel that Foosball is a dead sport.

Foosball is not a dead sport if you look at it from a global perspective. It's on the decline here in the USA but it's such a great game that it will never die. Great thing about social media, youtube, etc is that you document what tournament foosball is about so that somebody that doesn't have access to pro caliber players or a local foosball scene can still learn to play the game at a high level. My goal is to let people know how great this game is.

Your right. I love the game. It's just dead in my area (Huntington, WV). There's a brand new Tornado table in my local pool hall, and most of the time it's just me hitting balls around -- hard to find someone else to play with. There used to be several good players around.
