That little banshee of a vocalist is called Mayu. She was around a few years before Nemophila but apparently she’d had some thoughts… She’s described Nemophila as the “loose and fluffy band with a sound from hell”, and if you watch more of their stuff, it will become very apparent why. Welcome to the next Japanese super group! 😁 You as drummer must keep an eye on this drummer: Her name is Tamu Murata. She's special. She's a serious talented drummer. 1) Adabana, 2) Hypnosis, 3) REVIVE, 4) A Ray Of Light, 5) Style, 6) GAME OVER. NEMOPHILA are like BAND-MAID - they don't write weak songs. All are good.
Two lead guirars both 7 strings and they both work so well together. Both leads duel very well and Mayu (vocalist) is one of a kind. RAITEI, FIGHTER, REVIVE, ADABANA, A RAY OF LIGHT. I'd enjoy seeing you react to these (NEE MO FEE LA) NEMOPHILA Favorites of mine. I enjoyed your reaction and welcome to this rabbit hole.
What's funny is that the vocalist, the currently-pregnant Mayu, was in a band called Lipstick where I don't think she ever did harsh vocals (and was known as Sindy). The guitarists are Saki and Hazuki. Saki was in Mary's Blood, a group that more or less split up earlier this year, and has a solo album out there. Hazuki was in Disqualia and the Li-Sa-X Band, two groups that didn't last too long. The bass guitarist, Haraguchi-san, is a friend of Mayu's from high school - I can't remember if she was in any previous groups - and Tamu Murata was a well-known studio drummer. They all got together because Mayu wanted to do a solo show after leaving Lipstick, but they felt that they were too good to have that show be all they did. As for my top five, it's tough to narrow it down to five, but here's my list in no particular order. 1. Raitei 2. Revive 3. Hypnosis 4. Adabana 5. Life
This track rips don't it. Melodic Metalcore ye. MAYU's whistle-tone fry scream is the best out there, and that rock rasp and her cleans top-notch, even her idle kawaii "cute" vocal mode is fire. She is my favorite rock vocalist. The Laughing Thunder dynamic duo TAMU and HARAGUCHI-SAN are also my fav rhythm section currently. Last, but not least, the IBANEZ Endorsed / KILLER Guitars royalty shred sisters HAZUKI and SAKI complete this beast of a band. The convergence of talent in NEMOPHILA is unbelievable. Welcome to it and Happy Birthday TAMU 🌸✨🌠

Knee-mo-feel-uh is how to pronounce it (I think) Oh man. This was a good introduction to Nemophila. They're a super good group for sure. They have other songs that aren't as heavy. They also do covers of other bands music. Life is a song they do that is very much on the gentler side of rock. It's a song the band wrote for their drummer as she came back from having a kid.
The members pronounce the band name pretty much how you would expect a word spelled out in romaji (Roman letters) to sound. Neh-moh-fee-lah That "e" at the beginning is more of an "eh" sound, but otherwise pretty much like you've got it.

You pronounced it correctly, except the last two letters - which are LA and pronounced "luh" . . . I have no idea how you got "lee-uh" out of that. No offense, but I've dealt with this all my life. The last two letters of my last name are "no", and it's pounced, well, . . NO. For some inexplicable reason, people always say the end of my name as "lee". For the life of me, I can't figure out how people get 'lee" out of "no".

@@Killermcknight most of these Japanese singers like saiki and miku from BAND-MAID have extraordinary skills, because they have coaches they train with several times a week and really practice hard. So the answer is "I don't know" but the guy from Linkin Park did it too. Saiki's skills and versatility are outrageous, she doesn't roar because it wouldn't go with her image. I've seen miku on tiktok doing one of these hyper fast vocal challenges and totally ace it with 100% accuracy.
@@Killermcknight one thing that is really obvious once you listen to her roar here is that her throat is totally open and relaxed - whatever she's doing it's not like the tense untrained noise most guys do and she's also not trying to "roar as well as a guy" like most female metal artists. All these Japanese women are totally relaxed at simply being way better and it doesn't go to their heads, partly because their friends are similar and also they know they've really put in the hours.
You should definitely check out Maximum The Hormone. Their drummer Nao has been a huge inspiration to many of the great japanese female musicians you are enjoying now. Including Band Maid and Nemophilla. I would recommend you start with the track Yoshu Fukushu to ease yourself into them as they have no qualms about mashing genres together often in the same song. Nemophilla also does covers of the M.T.H. songs Shimi and Zetsubou Billy.

Exactly!!!!
Thank you I appreciate that
This song is a demonic possession! Long live Nemophila! 🌸🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
1. Raitei
2. Revive
3. Hypnosis
4. Adabana
5. Life
That's crazy to me! Behold Mayu's screaming abilities lol thanks for the list I'm making my own for the next Nemophila songs I should check out!
Haraguchi-san was in Hölderlins - small band without much success.
Happy birthday Tamu😆😆😆
uhhh my top 5 with these girls would be:
Dissension.
Hypnosis
Sorai
Orian
Ratei
I too started with the Maids, and then i found these girls.. have taken both bands to the heart..
both so good in each their genre..
You got to include Life though. and turn on subtitles
@@LowSpecLinuxLaptop I totally agree with you.. but he said top 5.. 😉 but yea life is a amazing song as well.. actually that whole album is just so darn good.. but he forced me to choose 5.. 😁 evil as he was hehe
@@foothpath9966 😅🤣😅
Great reaction mate. What a band . Lots to pick from them. Adabana or revive is a good choice
Thanks man
Nemophila is the best band right now ..imo ⚡🤟🏼⚡
My Nemophila favorites:
1. ADABANA
2. Live
3. HYPNOSIS
4. SHIMI
5. REVIVE
When you have Band Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila, your modern-band musical life is largely complete. Thanks, Japan!
Neh-moh-fee-lah
That "e" at the beginning is more of an "eh" sound, but otherwise pretty much like you've got it.
In Japanese ‘e’ is pronounced ‘eh’.
Hell yeah bro! Love this band. That heavy slow breakdown you want? Check out Demon Light. In your face metal? Check out Revive. Want the bassist to melt your face off? Check out Rollin Rollin. You want a ballad? Check out Game Over. THIS BAND HAS NO BAD SONGS
BAND-MAID and nemophila are pals, the guitarists saki and kanami in particular.
My top 5:
1 - Oiran (official live)
2 - Adabana
3 - Hypnosis
4 - Kurenai ( X Japan cover)
5 - Shimi (Maximum the Hormone cover)
TOP JAPANESE FEMALE METAL BANDS
NEMOPHILA - next songs Revive, Raitei, live show at Whisky A GoGo Club Hollywood USA on 1st July 2022..🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
LOVEBITES - songs Set The World On Fire, Raise Some Hell, The Hammer Of Wrath, Break The Wall...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
BAND-MAID - live songs Freedom, Domination, Play, Dice, Thrill, latest songs Unleash, Influencer...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
HANABIE - another screamer...songs We Love Sweets, NEET GAME..🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
ASTERISM - female guitarist, songs (instruMetal) Dawn, Rising Moon, Light In The Darkness, 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You want a slow song, try "Life" written for their Drummer Tamu when she just came back from having her 1st baby. Also, you might want to check out some of their 36 cover songs. Welcome to "The Cute and Fluffy Band from Hell".
SOKONINARU [Tenohira De Odoru]
HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [円盤飛来] (Trad: Flying Saucer)
TELECiDE [Tied up Memories]
NEKO [Ghost on a Record]
Nemophila: Making brutality beautiful since 2019.
Neh-moh-fee-lah. Short ‘e’ sound in the first syllable and NO ‘i’ sound between the ‘l’ and ‘a’ at the end. Check out “Adabana”, “Revive”, “Hypnosis”, “Raitei” and “Life”. Hell, check out ALL their shit. A rabbit hole well worth the time going down…
Hell yeah! Thank you for the pronunciation as well! I'm making a list of out the comments for songs to check out next from them!
If you wanna see more? You're in luck! Nemophila has a live stream concert in on Sept 29th (Replay until Oct 6th). They are Co-Headlining with 80s all female metal band Show-Ya. Check it out! Get your tix at Z a i k o \m/
Great review, but please (unless you have already) whilst in Japan you must try out Maximum the Hormone, and also SOKONINARU. Both bands Will blow your mind
Banshee wail .
Try revive or ray of light.
🤘😎🤘
Maybe you want to have a look at the four ladies of Hanabie "We love sweats".
Nemophila - Adabana would be a good one for a slow breakdown
awesome
My life is complete now, cause I found Nemophila 🤝
I hadn't heard of them before but that was great! Loved the drummer especially. There is another JRock/Deathcore/Death metal band named Deviloof. They are so damned good! I have to drop a link to the song i'm suggesting bc I have no clue how to translate the title. You will not regret this! I promise. ua-cam.com/video/LWDENni6Pbc/v-deo.html
Ella this is why were doing this! I'm so glad you liked them maybe turn you into a fan. I feel like you of all my subscribers get it.. get the kind of music I truly love so when you drop a suggestion you know damn right I trust you so yes I will definitely check out Deviloof. Is it like devil OOF or lol
@@Killermcknight I appreciate all music in general, especially metal but i'm bias, lol. I'll give anything/anyone a listen or 3 (i know sometimes it takes a couple listens to get into different sounds) And I appreciate the kind words, thank you. Oh and Deviloof's name? It's a combination of the words devil and proof.
TAMU is quite a legend in Japan. It's her birthday today 🥁🐸🏆 🤘😁🤘
In my opinion, however, the two bands are not comparable.
Nemophila is not a death metal band. Dissension might be their hardest song.
This is Tamu's (the drummer) YT channel: むらたたむ

@@Medley3000 .....I never compared the two. I was just saying "Hey if you like X band, you should check out Z band" I wasn't my intention to compare them.
This was good. Do Lovebites too.
Lovebites coming tomorrow
Their song MONSTERS sounds completely different (mid-tempo, no screaming) and has their best breakdown.
Your speaking my language Greg!
- a ray of light
- revive
Top 5 (that's tough)
1. Life
2. Revive
3. Minions Banana Song
4. Raitei
5. Monsters
+1 X Japan Rusty Nail cover song.
I didn't say it'd be easy! lol thanks man I'm making a list of songs to check out next by them because ya god damn right I'm going to check them out again!
🤘🔥🔥♥️♥️
If you want a slow breakdown check out "Oiran" by then. The ending will blow your mind lol.
Speaking my language Cody!
Las mejores sucesoras de SHOW-YA, 1banda femenina de heavy metal japonés y madrinas entre otras de Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin, Scandal, etc (Fairy, Look at Me, Genkai Lovers, One Way Heart, Gambling, Kurenai, Battle Express, Shooting Star, etc)
It's Latin. Nemophila. Baby Blue Eyes flower. They are THE BEST. Hell's Yurufuwa band
Hay try react to :
Jethro Tull - "mouse police never sleeps" ( John Bonham once said Jethro Tull drummer Barriemore Barlow was the best drummer so has come out from England ) In this track you can lisen to strange beats and stuff
I guess you did do Lovebites.
Lovebites is awesome! I took a 6 month break from UA-cam so I definitely need to get back to Lovebites
Please do Adabana (also by Nemophila). It'll get you there. guaranteed.
Oh yes! I am making a list based off the suggestions from this video and Adabana has been mentioned a lot so I will be checking out that song for sure!
She manages to scream so well and not screw her voice by using vocal "fry" instead of a crude yell. Look it up. 😉
how does she project with vocal fry? women vocal fry all the time without even noticing it to make their vocals deeper. that's crazy!
That's freaking awesome man!
If you want to get back to Lovebites, then give Set the World on Fire (live) a listen. Expect to be highly impressed.
try them in REVIVE think it's their best
Scream? ---> DAZZLE VISION [Second]
Adabana is what you want. Sludgy doomy slow breakdown in the middle.
Pulling at the heart strings with that! YES
Hanabie for some deeper growls
Hell yeah Hanabie is next for sure.
Better song: Hypnosis
