What’s Inside My Blown Up Transmission?

It’s hard to know where you are going without taking a look at where you have been, and in this episode we take a look at the internals and the damage done by driving my slipping TH400 hundreds of miles. It’s not pretty. The trans in my 1967 GTO suffered 20 years and thousands of miles of abuse and neglect before finally cashing in and heading out, but have no fear…the trans has all new internals and will soon be ready for a whole new season of adventures and road trips.

We DID request Dion Vickers to make this transmission rather "Kerry Proof" so should be good going forward!

You have been in a car with me, you know there is no such thing as “Kerry proof” only “Kerry resistant to 100 meters” 🤣

I`ve seen worse, but now that you had Vickers do your trans you`ll be good. I can`t wait till the weather gets nice enough you can go try it out!!

Cary good explanation “if you’re gonna play you gotta pay” . Very interesting content. I could show manual clutches from 2003 turbo charged pt cruiser . I think I went thru 7 in 13 years lol ! Can’t wait to see it back on the road!

Thank you. Yeah, actions have consequences and with this car I frequently get hoisted on my own petard, but smiling all the way. I was interested in what kind of damage was inside because I knew what I was doing wasn’t good, and I figure if I was interested others might be too. It makes me think of the old days where people would just stick all sorts of gunk in an auto trans just to stave off slipping, and now that I’ve seen what the damage is, who much of that is snake oil.
