- Unboxing a completely unopened and brand new Leica M-A Titan edition set. An absolutely stunning camera. I popped my brand new Leica cherry with a really special camera. I am very fortunate to be able to share this video with you. Some Leica ASMR for you.

We were very luck to see one of these at the shop I work at, super freaking cool camera and lens, and how kind of Leica to include some TRIX in these trying times as film prices increase lol
I own a black M/A and the lack of a light meter has really gotten me out of my comfort zone in terms of my photography. It feels like the first Leica I have that will outlast me.
I also bought a black M-A, from the store at Leitz Park Wetzlar. Yes, I had the magic experience of buying a new Leica, the unboxing thing in my room at the hotel. I loaded the Tri-X and proceeded to use both the 5cm Summicron at f2, and the 9cm f2. I also used the M7 with the same lenses.
When I arrived back at my studio in Thailand, I immediately developed the film. All the images made with the M7 were tack sharp.
The entire roll shot with the M-A was out of focus. Horrified, I then tested the rangefinder, (not something I imagined necessary with a new Leica.)
And there it was. It had NOT been finally set accurately at the factory.
"Quality control" .. ??

is the optical performance of 35mm FLE1 Summilux and 35mm FLE2 Summilux the same? Is FLE2 designed for higher mega pixels?
A sincere question: Has Leica come up with a fix to the coating on the titanium peeling?
I was under the impression it was meant to 'age with time' as they put it.
This is a beautiful camera. Do you know if you have to buy this edition to get an MA body that doesn't use a repurposed M body with a battery compartment filled in and covered with leather? I bought a new MA just this week and was shocked to discover that the indentation on the leather, where a battery normally is for an MP/M6, was there because Leica repurposes the M bodies with battery compartments and simply fills in these battery compartment holes with some kind of metal and covers with leather, if it gets past quality control, this filled in hole can even be pressed and have some give. The MA is truly a beautiful camera - deserves a body that is true to the intention of that purely analog design, no electronics, batteries or filled in battery holes.
Good question. From what I understand it uses titanium for the 'essential components' which would imply the body, plates and ancillaries. But I wouldn't be able to confirm for sure.

you should keep the back of the lens pointed DOWN when you swap lenses. That will help prevent capturing dust.

Well Bellamy , as we discussed , the M3 is a better camera , than my MA but still that is very sexy , for a collectable , lovely , a street shooter ... Mm I worry about the thieving hands ... Still nice equipment , I love both of my Leica' s , and yes everyone ... I am a " newbie " user at 62 .... some things take time. Good things sometimes take a lot of time.
