Electromagnetic fuel shut-off valve is the technical name for that. Carry a can of carb clean and if it cranks and no start, give the intake a shot of carb clean and if it starts you know where to look.
I have this exact issue going on with the same motor. However, I might bypass it for the sake of time. I already have a shutoff for the fuel. Great video!
Great Video How many seasons do you get out of the 20 hp predator motor. I'm looking at a pressure washing trailer setup with two washers both have the 670 predator motor. Listed in (Craigslist Fort Wayne Indiana) Respectfully Jack Mizerak
@@brianbarber3356 I'm sure you've figured it out by now but for others a DN10 ball valve works great at the wand/surface cleaner end of the hose to cut water and make the swap fast and easy without the hassle.
Mine only runs for about 3 to 5 mins cuts off.. sometimes it starts right back up does the same thing other times turning the key over does nothing no crank.. any help?
I experienced a problem the other day. My power washer wasn't running as good as it usually does. I got to a job and started it just to make sure it started because I was working in freezing temperatures. Once I started working I noticed I was lacking power so I checked the engine and it was cold on one side. On the over head valve on the left side. Do you think one of my magnetos went out?
just to add to jason's great info here, There are a few possible causes... No spark, no gas or no compression (or air flow) ! Begin with checking spark plug wires (and sparkplug) first like jason suggest. if spark at wire is good then, check spark plugs (remove, attach back to wire and ground against engine block (hold with insulated plyers) turn over engine and see If plug arcs. (Tip: remove the other plug wire so engine doesn't try to run on one cylinder)... Plug has good spark; check fuel next. with plug removed, look at and smell sparkplug for wet fuel (not wet/no fuel; dig deeper as jason also described. If fuel is good look at compression next. remove plug(s) and use something like a rubber tip blow gun or get a compression tester (safety first! but, I use my finger) to put over sparkplug hole, turn over engine to see if it builds compression over a couple of turns... the air will push out, you'll know it's good. No compression issues could be related to: rings, valves, head gasket or even clogged air inlet (air filter) and some very rare cases, even plugged exhaust (not likely). No compression issues may require internal inspection and repair... if you need more info google "dead cylinder" or just take it to a shop. Hope that helps; Good luck!!
Looking for advice. Im going to buy 4gpm machine. Do you recomend 3/4" garden hose or 1"? Im not using water tank, just straight hose to pressure washer. Thanks.
@@danpolk5695 This comment is 1 year old. I bought 3/4” and it worked fine all past season. Now im building encolsed van rig with buffer tank for 2022 season. Anyway, thanks for answer.
I just built my trailer and tried to start it today bought a new 12 v pump and still having the issue I’m gonna check this out tomorrow hopefully it helps
I'm not a lawyer. Yes you can but just don't get sued or you'll lose your personal property if you lose a case of significant value. LLC separates your company assets from your personal assets. And in Texas an LLC formation is about $300.
I have a predator 14 hours generator will start but when I attempt to turn to run it shuts off Spark plug replaced. Bought a new battery any suggestions
Sounds like you need to take the carb off and clean everything properly inspect the float just make sure it's all working perfectly. Shouldn't need choke on to run right....
I have a Predator 2500 pressure washer and was going to use it however it would not start. I cleaned the carb and checked the spark plug which had spark. I was able to start the engine but now it idles low like its about to shunt down but it just runs low idle and Im hearing some sort of noise like a screech either underneath or maybe buy the carb. When I press the trigger the nozzle will send water out but not high pressure and the noise goes away. I have been looking all over the net for similar issue but I have not been able to find anything. Any clue to the issue would be great. TY
Excellent overview.... Very good information there

I'm only had one or two they gave me more than two years. Most of the ones I've had only give you about a year
Good info Jason. Are predator parts available? Are Honda parts interchangeable for predator?
Good to know
What happens if it does backfire like a 12 Guage shotgun

Hey Jason question: What’s best way goi go back n forth from wand and surface cleaner? I’m turning machine off and on, seems like lot of work.

Lotta time do you have to change out the fuel pump on them. You can use the one for the Hondas on it and it works better
