    Thank you for sharing your expertise. I loved it, especially saw the result you shared after 8 months. I covered my glass (hidden from light) by placing it into an orchid decoration pot, root color has been kept with some green or lighter green color.

    Absolutely loved this video on UA-cam. I kept killing my orchids when introducing them to water culture. In the end I had given up growing orchids.
    Thanks to this amazing advices I will be able to grow orchids again.

    Use a funnel! Makes watering far easier. 😊

    Hi, thank you for this. Question: I just got a blooming orchid from a greenhouse. I’d like to try hydroponics, but I just repotted it in medium yesterday. Should I try it in the water culture now or wait until it’s done blooming?

    Why do you use cinnamon? What does it do?

    Hi I just transplanted my order and it was in bad shape so I cleaned it up and put it in a new clean pot . I'm in Florida. My question is should I fertilize it or just water it the roots are green 💚

    Do you keep water in it or allow drying out days?

    Thank you!...Great video as I need info about this. BTW,if I successfully get roots to grow in water,can I transfer to other media eventually??

      Hi Joseph, You can, but it's just one more change for them, and orchids hate change. They prefer to be in one spot and have the same conditions. Media change is always the biggest adaptation for them, after the transportation of being 4 to 5 days in a dark box, in the mail. So I wouldn't change the media from water culture to orchid bark. I'd chose one and stay with it. That's not saying it can't be done, I just wouldn't do it.

    do you keep the water in the vase at all times or do you drain, let dry and add water?

    Hi I have a question regarding a rootless orchid can I use this method? right now I have it moss and I dont see any new growth

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 роки тому

      Hi Kathleen, Hydroponics is a good way to hydrate the orchid when it doesn't have any roots, since the water will evaporate up to the leaves. With a rootless orchid, your goal is to keep the hydration levels high (moisture & humidity) until the orchid produces new roots, which could take 2+ months. As long as the orchid doesn't dehydrate, it's a good system of growing back roots. I'm in the process of making a video about sphag-n-bag method, which is the best way to grow back roots. There is an article on my website about that method, but I don't have the link right now. It's pretty easy to find though.

      Can I use pebble rocks in stead of leca beads I cant find those

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 роки тому

      The leca pebbles are made to naturally wick up water and move it to the next pebble, so the water is always moving (ever so slightly). Normal rocks won't have the same effect, but you can change your method to not have them in the pebbles, just free "sitting" on/over the open vase. That way only the bottom of the orchid will be in contact with the humidity until it grows new roots.

      I'm going to try the sitting on the vase until I can find leca thank you for your help I love your chanel

      Hi I took your advice and placed it over water now do I wet the stem after it dries out for a few days or just leave above the water since there are no roots yet

    Where do you go to buy the glass vases?

    • @Orchideria
      @Orchideria  3 роки тому

      Hi TheRage0180, I bought these at an arts & crafts store. They are candle holders, but I thought that they'd look good with orchids. I have looked on Amazon and Etsy, but I just don't try the delivery for the glass to get here in one piece.
