This video has saved me. I am a long distance design student and have to figure out these programs on my own. I didn't even know you could do half the functions shown in this video and wouldn't even have know to ask for them so Thank You!! Thank You!! Thank You!!! I cant wait to give it a try
This was excellent, thank you. I've used SketchUp for quite some time but I still learned a great deal here. It's important to visit tutorials from time-to-time to break some bad habits and remind you of elements you've neglected. Thanks again for all your work. :)
Very very good. I am taking a kitchen and bath design course which includes SketchUp. I am going to watch this everyday until it all sinks in...working in 3D is so different than 2D!
my advice: in collab with vray, u need to add render on mirror setting. i use photoshop to merge the 2 pics from mirror view angle and original camera angle.
Terrific presentation, lots of helpful pointers. Just wondering about the purpose of scaling the surfaces if they are patterns from manufacturers such as countertop designs . If those swatches are fixed patterns offered by the manufacturer then it's not something that could actually be precisely scaled, is that correct? Is it more for visualization purposes only?
Very helpfull... You can get list from this modell with all components u use? like: chairs 4 barstool 6 etc... ? and did u get a different list when the components have different options: like chairs orange 2 chairs blue 2 etc.. ?
Thank you. Great video! I'm a commercial interior designer; this is a great video and much better for client presentation than CAD. I'm very new to this and I'm about to purchase and learn Sketch Up. As someone who has used CAD for 18 years, how long do you think my learning curve will be for creating this type of drawing?
how many hours of practice I need to master everything you showed in this video?,, exellent tutoring, grate voice, clear description, a little fast for my pace, grate job!
+Andres Villalba The good thing with SketchUp is you can start modelling immediately. You don't have to do labourious hours of learning first before you get going so it encourages you to continue. I'm a terrible student, fairly smart but not diligent, and I still managed to become profficient at SketchUp because it's really fun to see your ideas come to life and be able to explore them in 3D. There are even style choices that make your model look like it's been hand drawn or painted. It's awesome and free! Good luck and have fun too. :)
+omo茶包 Keeping all base geometry on Layer 0 will avoid it accidentally interacting with other geometry. You technically could build things on individual layers, but especially as a model gets more complex, it's hard to keep track of where everything is. It saves headaches later on to model all geometry on Layer 0. This video goes into more detail: ua-cam.com/video/oCz1aC99txo/v-deo.html.
The rendering extension you mentioned in this video does not appear to be in the extension store anymore, there is one that I thought it was but it does not work on 2020. I've spent the last two hours searching and cannot figure out any free extensions like the one you showed. Any suggestions for something current in the warehouse?
this only works with premium account. Can't do grouping etc. with regular browser, should state these things in tutorials. There's a great deal you can't do without premium, just basic building blocks.
Do you use a special mouse or drawing pad for your work? I'm working with a regular mouse/keyboard and wondering if it's worth the expense to invest in a special device for drawing.
Here is the link to the extension: extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/soap-skin-bubble. You may need to manually install it, and you can find instructions for that here: help.sketchup.com/de/article/3000263#install-manual
I would recommend heading over to our forum (forums.sketchup.com) and ask there... UA-cam comments are a fun place to hang out, but a terrible place to get good support!
for this suppressing design software, you don't need to be talented. In fact, you need to: 1.dump your individualism 2.dump your creativity 3.dump your ideas Just get another IT-Dumb PhD Which means - this software fits 97% of the world's population. Hurrayie

i've been using this tool since the first free version came out, and for the kind of things i do, i've never needed more. It's a terrific software!

how many hours of practice I need to master everything you showed in this video?,, exellent tutoring, grate voice, clear description, a little fast for my pace, grate job!
+Andres Villalba I think you need 8h/day for 1 month.
Thank you for your response. Now it is up to me.

why should we keep modeling all geometry on layer 0?
I'm not getting dynamic models....in 3d ware house..
What's the reason (benefits) for keeping all base elements in Layer0? Can someone help me figure it out?

where do I find "option" if I want to soften the edges on the keyboard?
All I can do is hold shift and drag to the line I want to delete
edit: nvm....I've just figured myself...
amazing
do you have a personal page?
you have a voice tone that makes it much easier to learn
in my version of SketchUp boxes DONT stick together. It didn't even 'snap' to the bigger one... do I have to change the settings?
+Maria Lourdes Cleofe-Menor-Mendoza I also can't click on an entire cube using the move tool. It will only move the surface.
+Maria Lourdes Cleofe-Menor-Mendoza oh it worked but in a weird way... it only grabs existing vertices when there's an overlap. What's wrong here?
i am not getting the shadows setting pop up in sketchup 2014 pro. can any one help me out here?

I cannot find "Soap Bubble" in version 2016
Here is the link to the extension: extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/soap-skin-bubble.
You may need to manually install it, and you can find instructions for that here: help.sketchup.com/de/article/3000263#install-manual
how to hold down option?
We recommend using your finger, but any appendage will work. If you are on a Windows computer, you should try to Control key.
@@SketchUp thank you, and the visualizer i cant seem to find it on warehouse, any idea where i can get it? :)
I would recommend heading over to our forum (forums.sketchup.com) and ask there... UA-cam comments are a fun place to hang out, but a terrible place to get good support!
