Hi Volkin, I had a reddit post about different AI options for each hero today. I believe it might have triggered this feature as they told me "We've integrated your idea of giving each hero an AI option." in the comments (I am not sure if this is what they were referring to). There is also discussion about how varying AI options would be benefitial (e.g., only target backline/frontline units) in the original reddit post. This was also acknowledged by the devs as it being an interesting direction to experiment for the future. I can not link to the original post because youtube deletes the comment but you can find it with the title "Different AI Options for Some Characters (Discussion)" in "r/AFKJourney". I would like to give a shout-out to the devs for closely monitoring the community and making these quick changes to improve the overall game quality.

OMG THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED, i've been thinking about it all week and had to manually do all ults and couldn't keep up, as always thank you so much Volkin 😄
The fact that i needed this feature cuz my characters either ult too early or ult on wrong place/enemie is been annoying me for so long, and i get to lost or redo the fight over and over... but at the same time this thing made me knowledge the game more and understand each situation/combat. However this setting will save me alot of time/fight feature so tysm for this information. i love your channel so i will be follow up ur new vids, keep going!

After trying this, dude... HUGE thanks - this was an absolute game changer. I just cleared afk 495 while being 50k under power score, then went back thru Vanduso mountain and cleared out all the world enemies 50-60k higher than me that I couldn't clear before. Thank you!

This is a game changer. Having to manually activate all ultimates is very inconvenient especially when they’re ready at the same time. Being able to target enemies with few specific characters is so helpful especially for enemies with the tombstone guy - sometimes my characters target him even when there are other enemies on the field so I get obliterated
This was sooo helpful! I managed to push about 10 floors due to this. I have found that toggling the auto off on Coco until Cecia pops off, then just toggle it back on. I think turning off the ult animations helps with timing it as well... Thanks for this!
The amount of times I've had to change it to 1x speed and turn off auto so I could make cecias ult go where I want and make sure I get other ults off too is crazy. But this fixes that whole problem. Thank you!
This is Amazing, i've been close to throwing my mouse a couple times because I didn't get to unclick auto in time to stop Koko from Ulting before Cecia because my other character will pop an ult before and it's cutscene would stop me from selecting the cogs in time. Then when I do get it off in time, manually Ulting for your whole team can be the cause of someone dying if they're like a tank with a shield effect or healer.
I understood this setting exactly how u understood and never test it out. They should change the way they put it to clarify or let us know it exists with a pop up. Thanks for letting us know 👍

Wow this will make a big difference - timing Koko ult in particular. I'm too lazy to have all ults on manual but being able to select manual for specific characters for pushing tough fights is amazing.
This is also game changing with Vala if you want to ult someone that isn't her main target in case there's like 3 in the backrow and you wanna target the one in the center, since she would always go for the one diagonally across her and never the center unless it is a space further.
Oh man. I was the same as you in thinking that setting meant something differently. Another character that would be amazing with this setting is Vala and picking specific units to target with her ult.
THANK YOU! That is a game changer. I wanna also note that you can also use the numbers on your keyboard to select the caracters that are ready to use ultimate instead of your mouse. It helps to be faster and not miss a beat! Edit : forgot to mention it's 1 to 5 on the keyboard 😆
Man this feature is big! Just started pushing higher that my level and this sort of timing is necessary. It's crazy how much actually goes into this game, like I checked what teams lower power people were using for afk stages, and even if you have the same team that's a higher level, if everything isn't perfect you'll lose. For example, which artifact you have set, and the precise position of each unit to get the artifact buffs, and so certain characters get hit and get their ultimate faster. It's crazy, not to mention the luck you sometimes will need.

Massive QoL, thanks to that dude and thanks to Volkin for bring it in the spotlight. It is the same as your tutorial on the big bosses, where we either sacrifice optimal positioning or rely on RNG and also forced to used the speed artifact xd. Now we do not need to, keep it up Volkin and I can't wait for your 3rd account haha.
Would be nice if they also added a feature where it Auto Starts the ultimate, but lets you choose where to cast it for the heroes you choose to do it for, that way you don't miss the ultimate in 0.01 seconds due to energy drain and reaction speed being the only issue.
I suggested this option on the survey because of units like Temesia, or having healers pop immediately. I had no idea it was already in the game, either
just in case, when you see a New marker on the Guide option inside the menu, that means there're gems you can claim :D 30 per new item. you claim it at the top of the instruction card when you select a tutorial that's marked new.

So I have two accounts I am playing. One of them had all the recommended F2P team characters save for Thoran, and the other one didn't have Smokey. Last night I pulled a Smokey for the team that was lacking it, and my other one pulled a Thoran this morning. Each account is pretty much the exact same level and power now. Still, at level 80ish characters, I can't clear level 96 on map battles. My tanks, no matter who I use die too quickly.
I have Igor instead of Koko because of that reason. She's great but many times I've had to switch to Igor because he lives longer and hits harder (he's annoying to fight against though). So a lot of times it went Koko ulti then Cecia ulti and it frustrated me because I had to adjust formations, switch artifacts, switch units, switch from auto to manual...all without Smokie but I have him now and it makes life a lot easier. Oh, also check the affinity of your units; they give you diamonds as a reward.
Bruh I was just wishing for this yesterday. So clutch. Just got m+ odie as well, and he's kinda insane. Still pushing rn, but I've gone up 40 stages so far since I got his upgrade.

btw, there's an option in battle to press the 3 dots and then the helmet to change levels there instead of going to the hall each time

Yes!! We don’t need to risk using the ATK SPD artifact or put Cecia in front just for her to cast before Koko 🙌

Had the same initial thought with how this option does. They should really rename the option to “Optional per Character” so it makes more sense!

Crit is rng, not a strategic move. This game is 99,9% RNG based and minimal tactics

This makes Cecia’s Ult feel like a nuke being able to Auto/manual at the same time is game changing
