Lift the footbrake pedal up with your foot to stop the handbrake warning. There is a gas strut that always goes bad on the footbrake so it does not come up enough. 👍
Dad had one of these - thrashed it and stood strong, the hydraulic suspension broke but engine stayed really strong.Great car! Can do this then run 100mph on the motorway!
Actually I've done 150mph (GPS) with mine on the Autobahn 160 on the speedo and she had more to give. The engine at that time sat at around 112K miles on the odometer. At 100mph she just cruises happily.

Not sure I would like to own one unless I had the facilities and knowledge you guys do, but but it was a lot of fun for a day! I'm amazed how good it is off-road!

Great series ! We have a couple of touaregs and Q7’s that we off-road ! They are incredible capable . We are in the West Midlands So if ever in the area give a shout :) ! For the fuel tank add a metal skid plate ! A broke the straps of my Touareg one and learned my lesson , on the q7 I have added the metal plate !

Running 60psi will ruin the centre part of your tyres, with my 35s n all the other off-road tyres I’ve ever had which has been loads I literally run 30psi for driving and for off-roading n has always given me good even wear! The vw done really well
@@ryanp6138 you’ll also find that when they’re to hard off-road you’ll knock the crap out of your car as the the shock will be transferred into the car, you’d be surprised how much shock the tyre takes! Also clear silicone round your rim to tyre as stones get in n make your tyres flat, it’s well annoying as u have to pop the tyre from the bead to get the bloody stones out!
Giver her a small suspension lift on high end shocks for a bit more flex and have the bodyshop fab up some bigger Darkside Custom fenders to fit some 35x12.5" tires. If you could sell some aftermarket fenders afterwards even better. A decent amount of people would buy them since its not TDI specific either.
Some rock rails and big skidplate might be good protection too. Otherwise you may want to keep a welder close by cause something will get smashed eventually and break. The Touareg has alot of capability to become a true cross country offroad competitor.
Your parking brake strut needs replacing. It looks like the sensor still thinks it's on. Hold the release lever and lift the handbrake with the top of your foot. Thats how I got around it till I replaced it
That wee hill at 15:30, if you could click 2nd quickly you'll find it grapple its way up. More revs more meters as some might say Same with while doing doughnuts, click it up a gear and you'll really be away

Take the base off your kids car seat. If you’re not using the chest cushion then it says in the manual to remove the lower base. Good to see what is normally a car park princess getting muddy!
So is there any advantage offroad with the big engine? Like does this come with extra lockers or something that helps or is the smaller diesel just as good minus the cool factor? Just wondering because I'd feel much less bothered about ragging a car worth half the money.

The Touareg has a completely sealed cabin too, it will never end up like that Disco emptying the water ballast!

This V10 TDI sounds exactly like the V6 one only letting you know that there is a bit more of it.
It sounds more like the 2.5 R5 TDI, but it is a deeper sound. Straight 5 and V10 sound similar.

We need to send you the valve stem remover gauge, let's you deflate fast. You should try 19-22psi some time.

the title is wrong. the landrover discovery 2 td5 with standard tyres on is a beast off road.
It did more miles being towed than driven
Get a set of deep sided rubber mats, will feel better under foot and will clean up far quicker

Try treating the interior in some trainer/shoe protection spray it repels the dirt and water
