Have you ever thought about trying the gmade Buffaloes? I am leaning towards the pickup heavily once I get caught up with my bills. I have a Buffalo blazer body for my trx4 that I need to paint still but it feels like really good quality to me
Front axles have a 1mm added to each side. And the clicking noise is probably your spur rubbing the cover because it was already a very tight fit between those two
I hope it is that. Because I was waiting to buy one to see what bugs was in them. And I didn’t get a 10-3 because of that click. It’s annoying AF ! Lol .
Saw two yesterday at the hobby expo in Washington break their steering hub. One was a two foot fall to the flat ground, and it landed on the tire. Taking all the aluminum out of the Vanquish took all the Vanquish out if it. I just got done building mine, it's for sale. A swing and a miss, just honest feedback from a fellow crawler.
Hey Mike, I just picked up a used VS4-10, it`s a beautiful truck, mine have that clicking sound, where you able to figure out what is making it? adjusted end points but did not fix it, have not open the transmission yet.
Ye I have a daughter and some family down South, down there they call it pine straw here in the North we call them Pine Needles & down South they actually use "Pine Straw" as decorative mulch around the house yard etc where up North we use regular bark mulch 👍🏼
Mine isnt making these clicking noises. I installed this transmission in my vs4 build with 10.3 treal straight axles and the injora jeep jk truck and incision 10.2 driveshafts. nice change to have selectable overdrive.
I'm not sold now but I was before. 1st I think the 33% is too much. I wonder if that could be made less with a different gear. 2nd is that clicking but haven't seen any others do that. 3rd I wouldn't even deal with them shocks. So you throw them away and the tires for sure. Now that $500 with plastic everything isn't so pretty. The Etco looks superior in ability on your course too IMO Anxious to see more videos by you on this one before I'd pull the trigger.
It's no different then the price point of the scx10iii. And not everything is going to be perfect. Rc's are going to make noise time to time. It probably is clicking because he pushed the spur out farther then it was designed to do
Wow it is a little clicky This is my first time watching one. In action. U did a nice job showing it off on the rocks. Sunroof. It’s kind of weird. All in all I think it’s a great truck for the price.
Do it. Especially if you have a remote that has 4 channels already. It's my first vanquish and dont regret it. Its very cool, and really capable stock. Goodluck
Is this just a naturally whiny transmission once fitted in the rig? I have pulled my vfd twin out of my Phoenix probably five times now and can’t figure out why it’s so quiet when removed from the chassis but sounds like yours once in the rig.
Mine is making a clicking sound too. I believe it's coming from the spur pinion area I can feel it most there. I took it apart and its spins great but once together its noisy and feels like its clicking kinda. I put truck in Nuetral and rev it and still clicks. Gonna have to mess with it more I guess. I'd like it to be quiet and smooth too.

Please somebody explain to me why most if not all (with the exceptions of a very few) rc run videos are recorded with music? You cannot hear the motor / vehicle working, the tires getting a grip, etc. playing music is reducing our ability to get a better sense of the vehicle driven. If possible, please get rid of the noise and just run / drive the trucks. Your work is good however, you do make good reviews.
There is music at the start, none during the video. But to answer your question, some may want to hide a “click” or there are other noises around with swear words or even wind noise. There are reasons for it rarely do I have music throughout the drives.
Wow, that clicking is a shame. Sounds terrible unfortunately. Drivetrain? Shafts maybe? Also. I think it’s closer to the pro not the ultra? Not 100% on that tho. Lol. 🤙
hello, I really like your videos, I do not like this vehicle it is very expensive and at this price we expect a prettier bodywork, and above all exceptional capacities. unfortunately he is very average despite having incredible but useless systems. there are so many more interesting scales for less
There certain channels on UA-cam that I watch for honesty and this is one of them.
Great breakdown! That click sounds like you might need to adjust your end points on the OD or Dig side. Mine's definitely not making that sound!
I tried that but that wasn’t it. The top gear in the gearbox is it.
@@ExocagedRC okay good to know! I’ll keep my ears open in case it develops!
@@ExocagedRC My recently purchased Phoenix does this sound too. Did you find the cause?
The incision driveshafts that come on the pro/ultra have been great. That what I plan to put on my phoenix in the future. Awesome video!
By the time you buy the drivelines, and replace the panhard mount you could've bought a pro

Let’s see a comparison run between Ecto and the Phoenix.
Can't remember a box stock rig that aced the NASTY (crack of Doom and Gap of Death both) at first try ... That's saying a lot !
... outstanding!
Nice tests of the Phoenix's capabilities on your many course challenges. I had to hit the LIKE button after less than a minute on the course...LOL
The blue paint looks great joe
That truck is impressive.
Extraordinary first drive , great crawling 👌 👏
That rig awesome but the blue color is on point sweet
Thanks!

Wow Joe that’s a cool truck. Hearing about selectable OD sounded pretty cheesy to me but honestly kinda sold on it now very cool tech
what a great rtr crawler from vanquish
cool video thank you, where do i find these incision drive shafts
Love this truck man can’t wait to get mine
Looks like it has really good approach angles and turn radius.
yeah it does, really impressive to be honest
@@ExocagedRC absolutely! It’ll definitely be my next purchase man I love everything about this truck.
Impressive build Joe 👌
Amazing looking truck & run bud. Didnt look to be much front tire deflection on there. Waiting at the hobby shop now to pick up the new scx6
I should have my 6 tomorrow
Awesome job Joe brother 🙏
What you did with the ecto seems more interesting to me. Plus the weight you have the ecto is pretty impressive.
Love those wheels so much they look bad ass my man an also love the landminds

I didn't think it was all that great for the price tag and one piece axles is just a horrible idea especially for plastic.
Ok now I can add my 2 cents. I will stick with all my Trx4s
Joe go with mip shafts for the scx10-2 they are rebuildable so that what i run. If it ever breaks just replace what broke 👍

best I can tell the driveshafts are making the noise, the trans seems solid.
Blake not the same trans... Unless you bought a Phoenix and took the trans out. The old vfd is not the exact same
My Buffalo makes the same clicking noise from the drive shafts, can't figure out how to stop it either.
Isn't it the beef tubes rattling in the housing heard there was a bit of play in between the 2 pieces causing the clicking noise
Did you ever fix the clicking issue?
Did you resolve the clicking? What was it
Top gear under the little cover. The bore hole is too big for the shaft I had to shim it
What's that ticking noise?

Maybe a dumb question for the click. Did you phase the driveshafts? They have marks on them to help make it easy. Maybe the source 🤷♂️

Incision or MIP

I got mine, and the shocks are diffidently a pain. what radio system (receiver and transmitter) do you use?
Curious what shock oil wait did you go with the same all the way around or lighter in the front heavier in the back
Oh man. The wheels are dang near half the cost of the kit. But they are sweet
Got to go (Wide) to finish the (crack of doom) next time, with no rolling over, just flex it out! (A-)
ive been hearing those shocks was a freaking head ache ... im still couple weeks on ordering one .. any tips on shock building?
well, I had to get them started, put them on a block of metal and knock them down so they were straight, no kidding but now they work fine. LOL
I had no issue building mine. Just the spring coller had hard time threading on shock body.
Your going to be a few weeks out. They are sold out everywhere other then local hobby shops
id buy servo adapters and put micro 99's on the dig/od
I think DSM Offroad has a set made for it
Why go with a micro? It's cheaper and stronger to use a 1/10 scale servo. Why down grade in servo size?
@@urdonercjeremyburris7541 99's are plenty strong enough and half the weight

33 helps the turn a lot I think
