Thank you very much for taking the time to make this informative and entertaining video. I am very interested in your own observations and research of literature on some of their behavoirs. In their pairing up I have only observed pairing of same sized males and females. Have you observed pairing of different sizes? Have you ever experienced aggression for mates or territory?

I’m glad you found it helpful. While fish are paired up, I generally see them within a few inches of each other size-wise. Although, I have seen a 20” fish and 30” fish caught off of the same fryball, but that could’ve been a rare instance.
I’ve never seen much aggression while they’re spawning, but I have seen one snakehead chasing another around while it was feeding on its fry!

Can you list your gear. What rod/reel were you using? Also what kayak? Great video!

I was using a Shimano SLX DC reel with a St. Croix MH Mojo Bass. The yak is a Hobie Pro Angler 12. Thanks for tuning in!

The lures I like for early spring the most are High Octane Weedless Trident and Chatter. My favorite topwater hollow bodies are High Octane Frogzilla and Tailored Lures Mouse
