That was a lot of work makes me think I should trade in my 2004 Silverado. Only because I am older and I don't own a wonderful hoist like yours. The Silverado has only needed batteries since I purchased it new.
Yes sad to say it is a lot of work & if it's the 4x4 it's more complicated, the 2wd are easier but definitely not a fast or easy job to do , I have seen the chevy v8 with this problem anywhere from 98-23 with about 140k miles and up they all have this problem
