This type of deposit is something you dream about and the rumor was it was very rich in Free Mill Gold so we go on the hunt to find it and we use all of the Geological clues to help find it. The specimen Gold that is coming out of the quartz vein is incredibly beautiful and you can see why someone tried to hide the mine and lock it away with a steel door. For more vids on Geology just watch this video ua-cam.com/video/USg1MtJggo0/v-deo.html and smash that like button ...SMAS it HARD !!!!

Hey Jeff - Just got back home. I was out in the high sierra gold country. Got a couple little nuggets in the holes of folks who dug some gravel, but didn't check the bedrock with a metal detector (gotta always check those holes before you walk away!). I had a few guys from Fisher Metal detectors (First Texas) with me and we were testing out some different models and designs. Overall, a great trip and some good gold. I share your excitement over finding a gold bearing vein like that. Looks like you are onto something good - Congrats! Seems like it might be worthwhile to bring out the Sierra Blaster equipment stuff to break some gold bearing ore rock!

Jeff makes me laugh. Who would think that a person starts digging a hole in a desert landscape would call it a drift mine and be successful at it.
If our Federal Government kept mining the gold at Area 51, they would not have a deficit today. They sure make a lot of excuses. We wouldn't have to pay Federal income tax if they shared their gold with all of us citizens. Gee! The Saudi's share their oil wealth with their citizens, and they are all wealthy. Jeff had a link in a recent video showing a map with orange dots on it. Practically the whole state of Nevada is rich in Gold.

Hi Jeff! Theres that kind of 'schist' all around my mines. I see that 'schist' all the time but never thought of checking that. I figured since the old timers didnt check it that there must be nothing in it so i didnt bother in.
Also i went around out on my claims to check all those small pits for high grade piles. There are piles there but that area was worked so much thru the years that i dont think theres really much to be found anywhere and i think the only mine out there that produced anything at all was the holy moses back when Jack McKesson first discovered the outcrop then a guy named Mike Price had it and then died.
That whole area out there was well known for placer and there used to be A LOT of people out there with metal detectors working all over that area. Im currently doing a mine that an old mining company out of Cali started and timbered but never went any further on it. Im thinking they stopped because of either the war or the depression or when our ever so loving govt shut down the mines.
Any good unclaimed mines up there in Nevada? Lol
