Thank you. 💋 you are so informative & full of passion. I am having a well driiled & bed rock was hit before 60 ft, they are probably now at 80ft. It was 25° F real feel, with winds whipping up in the east coming from the west. Your explanation as to why casing is installed whilst drilling; to prevent cave in, answered my question & you were 1st site i opened & don't need to kerp researching. Lots of sandy, wet clay. Tomorrow will be colder with winds whipping allllll day. Makes the sky look so crystal clear blue & the wind pushing through the millions of trees low & high sounds like waves crashing on a shoreline. Well diggers get a lot of grit in their mouths. I watched them allll day as i find it so ABSOLUTLEY fascinating!!!😏 Currently have a gravity spring fed well & the cistern, about a quarter mile away, & all the underground tubing that feeds 2 separate households is eroding as cistern no longer fills as it once did. Could be a crack OR an underground line could have a crack by tree root. Piping traverses 3 properties & was installed over one hundred years ago. Once fed a third house, but the mountain forest has reclaimed the home.
I am about to begin drilling and have been advised that I need to perform double casing. I would like to know if this is necessary or if I can get by with single casing.
Thank you for watching! It really depends on where you’re located and the soil type but to be safe any water well driller will say you need a second case to help from cave ins. The question is this. How much is that bit worth to you? Is it worth the extra cost to protect it? Vs the risk you don’t lose the bit and some drill stem? This also depends on the depth of your hole. If it’s only going to be roughly 30ft does it matter to put that extra case in? At only 30ft probably not. I will say having done a water well myself I found it’s quite the art form. listening to as many local well driller as you can is a great place to start 😋 I’m sorry I can’t answer your question with a yes or no there is just to many open ends like what well drill are you using? The depth of hole you plan on drilling. I wish I could help more. good luck on your well and best of wishes to you 😄
Not only are they drilling deep in the ocean, the saltwater at depth can be below freezing. The oil can be boiling. Imagine those 2 extremes coming together ;-)

I "dig it."
I do wish some of your videos were a bit longer because there are a lot of interesting things you are all up to.
Neat! It has been fun to see 3 videos from you'all each week between MLH, MrOff&on, and this channel - hope all is well
