- Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer get an urgent call from their red telephone. Hilarious clip from the BBC comedy variety show Shooting Stars.
This is a channel from BBC Studios who help fund new BBC programmes. Service information and feedback: www.bbcstudios.com/contact/co... - Комедії
think about the time it took to make the props for that 10 second gag! love em
If the world were composed of more people like vic and bob...then all the planets in the Universe would be in pieces.
I had no way to predict where any of this was going. Amazing.
That's jazz, Rudie. That's jazz.
this show is fucking brilliant i think they should keep showing it even if it is just reruns!
PLEASE BBC PUT UP VIC AND BOBS BIG NIGHT OUT ON IPLAYER. Also. What the heck BBC - why don't you put shooting stars on iplayer?!?! I'm desperate to watch them!!
0:39-0:58 - crowning music of awesome!
I remember watching this one, a classic
Vanished lol pure class
Wouldn't it be great to if we all lived in their world.
We do. Don t fall for their nonsense... We do....
Every time either one of them says 'firing up', take a drink.
The Dalek's version of the final challenge is always a lot more exciting though.
"Never mind!"
Jupiters vanished!:O
This always happens! -.-
Nevermind! ^_^
Oh Shooting Stars I love your musical quirks..
lol there crazy
bits like this always look bizarre, in the context of the show it was hilarious
Jupiter's vanished!
@pompeypirate oh wow ten years, and its still funny!
It was awesome! dozzie rascle :P
This video appears in every numbered Antidote list as the first video. The only exception being Antidote Remix 03 which begins with the shorter but very similar clip "Mortimer Skanking" (which was used to get the list going quicker). This video is the most duplicated video in all of the lists. To cover all the relevant topics and concepts that spring to mind when watching this clip would probably be impossible in one go. However even after repeated viewing I still find it funny in some aspect or another (Iv'e pretty much always been a fan of Vic and Bob's work).
The concept of Realigning the planets itself is relevant in several ways. Firstly I felt the first time it was used I was attempting to achieve something along these lines. Possibly inspired by various astrological theories along with the song "The Immortal" by DJ Fresh which goes into how the stars can unlock power I felt like I was trying to force, if not the planets, then some other vast presence (such as a perceived audience consensus) to realign itself with my own goals. Up until this point the situation often felt very much reversed. The lists were (among other things) a concentrated effort to reprogram myself with only my own belief and also the perceived audience, wherever or whatever that may be.
Also whenever it came to reordering a list or creating a new list it often felt like I was playing around with concepts and theories that were as vast as the planets themselves, hence it's inclusion at the start of so many Antidotes.
Next is the concept of Realigning the planets via the medium of creating a very cheesy/silly song. This is something that I find very relatable, especially with the huge back catalogue of "The REAL Potatoes" songs I created with a friend many years ago (incidentally the name "The REAL Potatoes" is a spin on the old cartoon "The REAL Ghostbusters" and is not related to any other modern interpretation).
Also there's the re-occuring theme of something going wrong/missing which can happen when you are dealing with serious and complicated issues (or in the case of missing, more often refers to videos that have been deleted or removed from the public). Plus there's the 'nevermind' shrug it off attitude to finish it all off, which after repeated failures to reach my own goals I went through in the past is an attitude I have learned to use over time.
There are other parallels but in the interests of completing these assessments as quickly as possible I'll leave it there.
Yes.
This guy fucks.
''...Nevermind!''
@khasab I don't think all of them are. If you're into torrenting then you can find every episode on some torrenting sites I think.
@khasab The most recent series only ended two months ago.
arent tv cameras higher than HD anyway?
he looks like Himmler in them glasses
Lol it must of worked
@HcmJames Hi there
It's from series 4, broadcast (believe it or not) in February 2002! Nearly ten years ago!
I've got most of this season on DVD somewhere, might have to dig it out now.
C bed clear!
The Morcombe & Wise of their era but with 2 Morcombes
Brilliant!! Where can i get that music from!! hahaha
Seabed clear, seabed clear!
I hate alternative comedy but I love shooting stars, if that makes sense!
Bob: Jupiters vanished
*clicks fingers*
Vic: Always happens!
Bob: ...Never mind...
*Earth gets pummelled with asteroids forever
@araregoodguy I know what you mean, not a fan of the mighty boosh but yet love shooting stars!
which series is this?
Shooting Stars
the guy on the right looks like kevin spacey
So.... what we learn from this is that next time the Daleks go round moving planets for their own fiendish schemes, we don't need Doctor Who.... we need Vic and Bob!
well then i apoligise young sir lol
oi!
Why the fuck would it be HD to be high quality?!
Hans zimmer produced excatly the same
Well the clips are probably at least 10 years old so they wouldn't be recording in HD then!
Is this where the daleks got the idea?
The BBC would probably have to employ a couple of Dalek's to cover for Vic and Bob while they're busy. Spose they could give it a try, not sure they'd be quite as charismatic as these two though...
only on shooting stars....
@dibbuck im Vic reeves Dad, and i watched him as a baby in the early 50's beat that you middle aged, mid life crisis motorbike driving spud! ha!

Congratulations. You've successfully been older then most people of today!
can the bbc not upload some good quality videos??? not as in the quality of the programme, but the quality of the video itself. these are pretty poor, especially for a broadcasting company as big as the BBC.
boring trype
