Beneficial video. I got it up and running quickly on my MacBook Pro 14" with the M2 chip. This will be extremely helpful when I'm out and about and want to avoid connecting to public wifi or relying on a hotspot connection. I use PDA Net+ to tether on my gaming PC at home but need not tether via USB on my Mac. Appreciate you a ton!
Can u connect with pdanet
Works! After doing all this, should we be re-enabling any security options in boot options? Or will security automatically re-enable?
Thanks for pretty cool tutorial. I don't know how I would've figured this out on my own. You are a Pro!
Glad you liked it!
The file is in the download, but the text to paste in the terminal is not there, can you update? thank you very much 🙏
I can't run some applications, because "Permissive Security" turned on. There is no way to get a RNDIS and at least "Reduced Security" in Security policy?
For all the people confused if it works or not,it does
can I change it back to full security after?
Must I re-enable any security options after?
Thank you so much bro. Really appreciate!
You're welcome!
It does work but it is selectively slow, on youtube it plays videos normally but if I do a test speed or a download it just crawls... :(
Works like a charm for my M2, thanks!
Great to hear!
Welcome back bro love your videos
Glad you like them!
can you provide a direct link from horndis ? instead of a drive link.
Thanks for the solution, really appreciate it
Any time!
Disabling SIP or specific protections like kernel extension restrictions on macOS with the command `csrutil enable --without kext` poses the following risks:
1. Increased security vulnerability, allowing potential malware to modify critical system components without detection.
2. Elevated risk of system instability and crashes due to unrestricted kernel extensions.
3. Potential interference with future macOS updates, as updates expect a secure environment with SIP enabled.
How to re-enable the SIP and undo the whole process
@@lakshmikantahembram1836 just erase your Mac and re-install the OS
This doesnt work anymore on latest mac os. The file wont paste into termial.
Thank you. Works like a charm
Great to hear!
you've got one more sub now ty very muchh
Thanks for the sub!

This is looking fishy .. what about the security
2:25 i don't see the allow window
HoRNDIS driver does not work with latest mac OS ventura 13.2.1
Same problem
I thank you, my man!
Any time!
Im running MacOS Sonoma on m2 Air, everything was the same as the video except the very last step in privacy and security, the option to allow extension isnt present. Any tips on why?
Absolutely same problem on same machine
Please help me. I did everything like you show in this video and flow you step by step. I did it without problems but I still not have option window with "allow" for HoRNDIS option. Why? I have MacMini M2 Ventura 13.2.1
Make sure SIP is disabled. Re-installl the kext.
@@MacintoshWeekly Thx for answer. Unfortunately still not working. I did csrutil enable --without kext method then in next try csrutil disable all SIP method and still nothing. Of course I re-installed the kext in every method.I still not see "allow" option.

@@MacintoshWeekly m2 do not work ,,,,,,,,
I have m2 Macbook air, I tried a lot, it’s same problem as you face 😓
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
Thank you for this tutorial. It works for me. By the way, how did you know about these steps, in a manual? :D
Glad it works for you. It's from Magic manual ;)
In the past, I used a similar way to enable tethering on two of my Macs and was going to follow this tutorial to have it on my new MacBook Pro 14'' 2023 (M2, Ventura, 13.4.1). But before making any actions I just connected my phone to MacBook, enabled USB tethering, and, it's unbelievable, but it just worked!
Yes, I am saying it's working out of the box, at least for my device combination of MacBook Pro 14'' 2023 + Google Pixel 7a.
Seems like either Apple introduced a tethering driver in new macOS versions, or Android started to support Apple standards.
It's not working for me
Thank you, man
You're welcome!
After I run the command in terminal I don't see any Allow button in Privacy & Security ((
Same problem
is there a way to use realtek wifi adapter on macbook m1 ?
MacBook already has WiFi.
At first time i get permission in privacy settings, but when i change back to reduce security and follow all steps from start of the video the permission is not appearing in privacy settings on m2 mac
Add it manually.
@@MacintoshWeekly how
I have the same issue. How can we add it manually?
How to re-enable security policy as earlier and undo the whole process??
Just undo the steps.
Thank you 😊
Chat GPT told me this: The command "csrutil enable --without kext" is used to enable System Integrity Protection (SIP) on a Mac while excluding kernel extensions (kext) from the protection. SIP is a security feature introduced in OS X El Capitan (10.11) that helps protect critical system files and processes from being modified or tampered with by malicious software.
By running the command "csrutil enable --without kext" in the Mac Terminal, you are essentially enabling SIP but excluding kernel extensions from its protection. This means that SIP will still be active and provide security for other system files and processes, but it won't enforce the integrity of kernel extensions.
It's important to note that modifying the SIP configuration can have implications on the security and stability of your Mac. Disabling SIP or excluding kernel extensions from SIP protection should only be done if you have a specific need for it and understand the potential risks involved.
Thank you for this. I have run the command already, but I still can't use USB tethering with my android device. I will have to revert this security setting
The best!
Thanks
Command sudo is not working...it's showing command not found... please help
You need to type /Library/Extensions adter you drag the app to terminal
its not working it says that Joshua wire has blocked due to some reasons not working I have tried a lot
You must allow the extension.
@@MacintoshWeeklyWhich type of extension
Can you please do video on Sonoma Mac version also
Excuse me, even after did all this, it won't install. It doesn't show up in Privacy and Security. I'm using an M1 MacBook Air.
Check your SIP.
@@MacintoshWeekly I disabled it, but still didn't work.

its unsafe to break system integrity of mac..for that we bought mac
You should learn about Security basics first!
Job Done. Thanks
Great. Enjoy :)
Lol! Do I have any question?
