If you have stayed here let me know your experience in the comments below. The seafood buffet was amazing! Next video up is Mauna Kea Beach Hotel so keep an eye out for that review. I post a hotel review every other week, see you in the lobby!
There last October, it's a great and convenient location, but it's so expensive per night, and then the $25.00/day amenity fees plus the $25.00/day to self park. If you have a handicap placard, it'll save you $15.00/day parking (then only $10.00) Some other hotels are way less, no fee's but are not really within walking distance, plus I think this is the only one with a bar and grille poolside. Last time I was there was in the late 1990's, room was around $65.00/night, no parking or amenities fee's. Times have changed.
@@suitesandlobbies If I go back , I'll try the Royal Kona Resort which you can see from the King Kam. No amenities fee, and I think parking is free as well.
Good review. I stayed 5 nights last February...really enjoyed it, staying there again this upcoming February. I had an oceanfront room in the west wing (supposedly the best, it is quieter). One thing I loved was the quick elevators...I never had to wait more than a few seconds. There are at least 2 boat tour companies that launch off the pier just a few steps from the hotel, Kona Style and Body Glove. I took Kona Style for a morning sail to Captain Cook and loved it. Overall, the best hotel option in the town of Kailua Kona, but the Royal Kona is pretty good and at a lower price point.
Thanks for those tips, I think others will appreciate them. I do plan on going back to do some additional hotels and will definitely look at those 2 boat tour companies.
I almost canceled my reservation at this hotel from all the bad reviews, but I’m glad I didn’t after watching your video. We have a reservation for the seafood buffet. It looks great!
Thank you! Not on this trip but I have done snorkeling, and hiking in the area before. Volcanoes National Park can’t be beat although on the other side of the island. Swimming with Manta Rays also seems to be a favorite along with visiting Mauna Kea and horseback riding in Kamuela.
I had dinner at Honu's but it was a seafood buffet that only runs on Friday and Saturday night, it was excellent and I can only guess it reflects on how breakfast is. I have some additional information on m stay here - www.suitesandlobbies.com/courtyard-king-kamehamehas-kona-beach-hotel/

@simba Yea the parking fees across Hawaii can be pretty steep, thanks for the tip for those with a handicap placard. 👍

My second time staying here and we love this location.

That buffet was impressive for sure. Enjoy your trip!
Great review. I booked this and was considering changing because of the reviews, but I think I will keep it
All the best on your trip, let me know how your stay went after you get back.
Great video!! Did you do any excursions

Did you go to Honu's on the beach for breakfast or dinner? I'm doing some research and there isn't much. Which one would you recommend?
