Took a 2023 Nissan Altima Uber home last night. The thin rims give it a rough ride but I have to admit that Cvt was the smoothest I ever felt. The way the driver was seamlessly accelerating without any drops in revs actually have it ev style propulsion. Really impressed with Nissans new engine drive train........I was like I literally don't feel the car struggling at all.
With the 3.5L V6 Nissan had one of the best engines on the market, comparable to Toyota’s 3.5 V6. Very reliable - a 20 year old FX with the 3.5 V6 still has no problems. Why on earth would they do this to their cars.
*you still have a choice of honda and mazda 3.5 & 3.3* *but believe me this 2.0 VC-T is a work of art of Nissan and it is also mega reliable, you can easily get 330 horsepower after a small modification and that is enough for this car...* *it is still one of the most cost-effective cars in this price range, guaranteeing trouble-free driving for many years !!!*
4 cylinder engines are for small crossovers and 4 door family sedans. 6 cylinders are for midsize suvs and sedans with a bit of performance. V8s are for trucks and sport sedans. No substitutions
Good thing is it tows more. Bad thing is it won't last near as long as the naturally aspirated V6. If they had both as engine options, I would pick the V6 over a turbo charged 4 banger all day long.
One of the best PoVs for viewing driving cadence. The way that Infiniti seamlessly passed every single vehicle without seeming like it was transitioning gears is why Nissan has stepped up their transmissions.
So many manufacturers are moving to turbo 4s. They tend not to be reliable after 100K miles. I agree with your chrome zonks! Black Edition should be all black trim.
Yes its all about the cars, but I've seen a lot of car reviewers but nothing really compares or close on how you provide a very in depth review of the car itself. Keep up the good work and keep Zonking!!!!
Of all the turbo 4s that I've seen passed through the dealership, this is one of the more reliable ones. Haven't seen it have any problems in the Altima for years that it's been in it. Would've still preferred the 6 cylinder. Maybe update it to the 3.0T out of the Q50, wouldn't have to keep both turbos, just one would been good. But, excellent review Joe
The Infiniti QX60 is a midsize luxury SUV that’s got a spacious interior and can seat up to seven people, which is awesome for families or road trips. It comes with a smooth ride, and you can expect a lot of tech features, like a user-friendly infotainment system and advanced safety options.
Sure, the naturally aspirated V6 engine in the 2024 model won’t win any drag races, but it’s smoother than your morning coffee and just as reliable. Stick with the V6. Don’t trade your espresso for decaf. Also, black out those accents for that ‘I mean business’ vibe, even if you’re not breaking any speed records. Towing capacity, seriously - rent a truck.
Nissan made their bones on their incredible V6's over the years, why on Earth would they abandon their biggest strength on their most successful model currently?!?!?!
The removal of the V6 is going to push more buyers to the Acura MDX……….Even though the Germans do sell 4 cylinder turbos at premium luxury prices for most American buyers true luxury starts with a V6. I bet a driver will see turbo lag as with most turbo 4cyl SUVs I've driven. I would prefer a turbo 6 or hybrid setup on the turbo 4 to match what Toyota does.
