- Buying and fishing with a CHEAP Walmart Catfish Kit!! WILL IT WORK? I take you guys with me to go catfishing at a public body of water and put this thing to the test!! I did not expect for this to happen!!

For catfish I’ve learned that little pieces of uncooked hotdogs on a circle hook with a sinker work really well.
Or catch blue gill to use for live bait or cut bait. Works really well here in Georgia

They come off really fast but there a type of hot dog that works and stays on the hook and it has some special coating for catfish
@@natashaspeir5775 I just use any kind of uncooked hot dog that I find and it stays on just fine but it could depend on the way you put it on the hook.
Seagulls are everywhere. They don't need the sea to survive when there are McDonald's and other fast food places.

Carolina Rig with live perch or shad. It will change your life. Also, buy a CatMax reel, and put it on a medium heavy Ugly Stick GX2. About a $100 setup. Good luck!

@ALBERT WANG bluegill catches huge ones 50+ lbs
For carp use something like 8 pound fluoro on a medium rod and just take a net and set your drag a bit loose. Use a size 6-8 hook and use small swivels and weights to avoid spooking them. Carp are very jumpy fish. Just cover the entire hook in bread or corn leaving the hook point just barely exposed. Then just let it sit on the bottom and wait. Chumming with corn or bread is also good as long as it’s legal in your state. Hope I helped!
I'm in landlocked Omaha Nebraska and we get seagulls here in our walmart parking lots. No idea why. We get pelicans also.
Fish for bluegill. Use a 7-inch leader with a size 4 baitholder hook. Tie leader to main line then a small nightcrawler or small white plastic grub. Theres minimal current so weightless will work.

Buy a cast net and use shad as bait and use a Carolina rig buy a medium heavy action fishing rod used braided fishing line I recommend you used power pro 80lb
The only stinkbait that works consistently is secret 7. Also seagulls are everywhere. I seen them in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
Never used secret 7 but triple S has never let me down. I have a 2 gallon jug of it and went through 1/8 of the jug this year and caught over a hundred cats.
When I was younger I never saw pelicans or seagulls here in Wisconsin, but now it seems they have found us....

For catfish the C&D and lums pond have flatheads and I think the state record was a Blue catfish caught in the nanticoke

the fast water at the spillway use large 20-30gram slip floats, weigh them with sliding egg sinkers with a 2 foot leader and set float depth to choice. Use large cut bait and minnows and shrimp. You'll get'em there for sure.

Catch a sunfish then have a rod with a 12 inch leader on a dropshot. Then cut quarter sized chunks. Put chunk of sunfish onto the 3/0 or 4/0 circle hook throw to an area near cover or towards the middle area of water. Then let the dropshot rig with sunfish or bluegill set if theres current throw dropshot in current. Try using a 1oz dropshot weight if current is heavy

I just catch a few bluegill and use them as cut bait. Poke holes in the meat to put more odor in the water. I've caught catfish on just about everything from grasshoppers to chicken liver to cut bait.
Shrimp works really well for channel catfish

My preferred catfish setup:
Cut bluegill head on a Carolina rig with a 1-3oz egg sinker above a swivel going down to a circle hook with a beer in my hand.

I use a Carolina rig and I love chicken liver and cutbait. Raw shrimp is also good. Make sure you use a circle hook too, they work so much better that j hooks

Freshwater rarely freezes over in Long Island, NY. Some spots have prime pickerel fishing during the dog days of winter. Definitely worth it when the striped bass are gone for the winter.
Cut shad on a 3/0 circle hook or j hook with a big or small weight depending on where I am fishing. If you cant get shad, bluegill or some type of cut up sunfish works. You should watch the catfish and carp UA-cam channel.

I use Clam snout for catfishing and the magic bait stuff along with nightcrawlers.

Can use a 7 inch leader with a size 4 hook. Tie 7 inch leader to main line then a small spit shot a 1/4 above where leader ties to main line. Put live nightcrawlers or soft plastic white grub. If you use either nightcrawler procure or trophy bass possiblities are endless. Youd likely catch bass, but you could catch other fish too. Use the prcure on white grub worm. If you have an orange sharpie color tip of grub worm orange. Let it dry then put nightcrawler or trophy bass by procure and get crushed by fish. Heck, at some point i should start my own youtube fishing channel 😊
But bait depends on species. If I'm channel cat fishing I use strawberry jello soaked chicken breast, if I'm blue cat fishing I use cut bait fish, and if I'm flathead fishing night crawlers or live bait works the best. I use a Santi cooper rig, a Carolina rig, or a rig I call a bomber rocket rig where you fill a small ballin with helium and take a rubber band and put it on your line as a bobber. When the ballon takes off or floats away you have a fish on the line
all i do is fish for catfish here in salisbury. i use dollar tree bait. dollar tree hotdogs, shrimp and ribeye steak. caught tons of catfish using those baits. most fun was catching 3lb+ catfish using my Zebco Dock Demon micro rod with the Zebco ZSE20 reel spooled with Zebco 12lb test.
For catfish, I use just plain nightcrawlers and fly line it. Also use just plain bread also. Get the limits every time
Caught 17 out of 18 catfish this summer (May-August) bobber fishin with crickets on an ultralight. Put the bobber about 6 feet above the hook with 2 crickets on there and toss it off the dock out in the open lake. Wont be long before it’s gone under. Youre either on a perch, bluegill, or a catfish which is the best part because you never know what you’re about to hook into until you hook set. Caught my PB on crickets (7.67 lbs). Nothin beats it

Don’t know if you’ll see this but the white stuff on the tree at the beginning is lateen fly eggs that’s their eggs over the winter then they start to come back once it gets warmer, also that is ALOT of eggs

my go to catfish is a 6 foot Medium zebco 33 rod a zebco 404 reel 15 lb mono with a 12 Lb leader using a Carolina rig using a swivel no snap and i use either chicken livers or hotdogs on 3/0 circle hooks or octopus hooks
You should fish with strawberry jello flavored hotdogs, they are great bait for catfish.

Carolina rig with a 2/0 or smaller octopus hook octopus you can set the hook but it also works some what like a circle hook and hooks it self never gut hooked a catfish on a octopus hook yet as for bait I love hotdogs,cut shad or bluegill,and shrimp

I fish for big flatheads. I use big circle hooks heavy weight and 110 lb line and either live bluegill or cut bluegill. Ive got a 47lb flat on a bluegill head
