I usually play around with TC levels (30-40% gives me the sweet spot). This can easily save you 0.5 second per lap and can be set on the fly for cars that supports it. Another tip is to experiment with the break bias to provide a balance of turn in performance and breaking distance without going over board with under or over steer. Example is the WTCR Honda civic 2020, it starts with 56% front bias. I found the sweet sport to be 49-51%. This reduced breaking distance considerably as the front wheels were locking before and it improved turn in performance! @Ben: I miss you raceroom content and ranked servers! You should do that more ^^
Thank you for this video. I would not have spend the time researching these options. These are some awesome tips. Maybe you could start a series of videos on tips and tricks and what can assist you in getting faster....

Hey Ben! Unfortunately I’m well out of touch with RaceRoom these days so can’t really comment on the sim in an informed way. If ever that changes I’ll update it 👍
@@Ben_LaBrocaHey there! In _"Which has most improved in 2023?"_ Raceroom didn't place in the 3 on top. What kind of adjust do you do in the car so it can have more speed? Every time a overpass a car I cannot maintain the lead and end up losing the position for lack of speed. Thank you.
Hey buddy - so honestly I don’t tend to make any changes to setup. But if you are struggling for top speed try lower the wings a little, and checking if you’re in the fastest engine mode.
@@Ben_LaBroca I tried the FR90 V8 in RR for free today. It handles amazingly well. I had lots of fun driving it! I recommend it if you still don't have it. Best.
I have to believe most of these people have mods for their cars. Just starting and racing the miata series and we're going through corners the same but guys are leaving me on the straights with what's supposed to be equal cars.
I have tried RaceRoom Multiplayer, but it isn't the same as on Single Player/Practice mode, e.g.: the same car (Aquilla) in Multiplayer is undrivable (brake locks and etc), while on Single Player/Practice it is just fine. What is the secret?
Hey buddy - sounds a strange one but the only thing I can think of is in multiplayer you might be starting with cold tyres and brakes, which take a lap or two to warm up. That could definitely cause you to slide and lock up.
I have exactly the same problem with some cars such as WTCR and it doesn’t improve during online races but no problems in Single player & Practice mode. I always wondered if anyone else had the same problem.
Ooo tough question buddy, very much down to personal preference. I like the Cupra and the Alfa as they feel quite well balanced and in line with my driving style, but I know lots of people run the Lynk or Audi too.
Engine brake is confussing me, I use Thustmaster TMX at the moment (budget wheel) and the car is more balanced when its set to 1 then for example when its set to 10 or higher, but according to the game the higher the engine brake the more stable the car should be when releasing the gas pedal. But yet the game is doing visa versa.
Higher engine braking = more stress on the brake due to car not slowing down enough because of less engine brake... If u set engine braking map to level 1... It will give the maximum engine braking the car have.. making it unstable during downshift and braking (the moment u release the throttle) If u find the car snapping into oversteer during downshgt.. its the sign u need to increase the engine braking setting to higher number (less engine brake)
@@AmirPomen I think that the Engine brake in this game has a weird affect on the car physics the higher the number the more natural the car physics looks but using higher numbers isnt always the correct setting.
I think sim races are very outdated as regard they deal with setups. They pretend to be something complex that not even in the real life it is. Most people want play to be a driver not an engineer. Find a perfect setup is very boring and frustrating.
Thanks man! Yeah I know I definitely didn't understand alot of the different mechanics and options in the game in my early days playing. It's only recently that I learned that launch control was even in the game for some cars! 😂

excellent video mate, really straight forward. didn't know about engine maps nor launch control, so this video was perfect for me
Good to hear! Thanks man!
I've found decreasing brake pressure in none ABS cars helps to stop locking the brakes
Ah interesting - good tip, I’ll look to explore that myself! Cheers for that!
But you'll also get a longer brake distance. Just test it out and get the right balance.
I did that even in abs car as well... Some car abs just too sensitive (or maybe i just braking too hard)
I do it in every car.
best Sim still today

Thanks for the Launch Controler tip!
No problem buddy!
Thanks for your race support! ...many player need this! moore from then pls THX
Ah thanks man - appreciate that!
I always map brake bias and anti roll bars to my wheel. Very handy when the ballance of the car changes due to tyre wear or fuel level.
Great shout - I’ve played around w brake bias before a bit but not anti roll bars!
Roll bars aren't adjustable in car in raceroom
@@ravey1981 they're not? Sorry got my sims mixed up.
@@ravey1981 they are tho
@@drazenbudis7881 they are not adjustabile in car, as in while driving, so there are no hotkeys for them. You can adjust in setup menu only.

Same here mate. I have no idea what the difference is, but I am soo slow. I know I am not the Hamilton, but I seem to be soo slow compared to others
The thing is most of Raceroom uses closed code, so mods are not really available in game. Not saying some hardware mods not coming into play though.
Thanks! Just started sim racing... boy, do I suck!
No problem buddy - and don’t worry, it’ll come! For what it’s worth I’d focus on a single car to begin with, something like an F4 or a cup car.

In multiplayer, ABS and traction control are often turned off while in single player you can choose and adjust every option.
more practice the better you get!
