Faber Castell Graphite Matt pencils review

- Those who follow me for quite a few years now know that I have been working with classical graphite pencils for a very long time, to be exact this was the medium I started out in. But one thing that always annoyed me was the glare of my images that made it hard to photograph them or really just show them off in front of the camera.
Then I heard that Faber Castell had brought out something new, a pencil that was supposed to have a matte finish. Of course I got curious. And this video is the result of that curiosity.
My conclusion? I like these pencils and I will definitely purchase more. They make things a lot easier and are fun to work with.
Giclée prints of the drawing I did with those pencils can be found on my Etsy:

Who am I +
Hi there, my name is Marlies, I'm a traditional artist from Germany and I mainly work with graphite, coloured pencil and acrylics. Lately I also try to get into watercolours a bit. I mostly draw human portraits, but lately also animals and the occasional flower or plant. I do (fantasy) landscape paintings as well.
Annnd … as you have probably guessed, another habit of mine is to try out new art supplies, because it's fun!

gloss is easily removed with alcohol.
Sorry but I fear I have to disappoint you here ... just tried it out because I got curious and it does nothing except making things worse / smudge the pencil ... I don't recommend using this technique.
@@AveniusArt Alcohol must be 98% C2H5OH
or use lighter fluid, but it takes a long time to dry
@@xras66 I used some leftover vodka I had here ...
No option for me then because I'm not one who likes to use potentially toxic stuff like lighter fluid for artworks ... besides it probably making the artwork no longer archival.
Have fun with it though, you do you ;)
