@@dougr8646 As a psychology student, this is very true. But I think with psychologists, we don't lie by claiming that a dead person told us their grief comes from a traumatic event from their childhood. Fake guys like this psychic are a dime a dozen and that their doing, personally, is profiting from lies and scamming people. There's no dead ghosts or spirits talking to them - all rubbish!
@@dougr8646 not quite the same thing though is it, a clinical psychiatrist helping someone come to terms with their issues and a random bloke claiming he can communicate with the dead.........one of those is clearly a con man and one is a trained and certified mental health professional.
as much as i totally agree with you here, and i have no belief in spirits on the afterlife - i know for a fact that many people simply want to hear these things because, as derren says, it gives them comfort and in some cases closure - which although it happens under the guise of deceit, can really help some people move forward and heal themselves psychologically - nothing to do with spirits - just someone holding out a hand and giving another person support - like the church, if you look at it from another point of view.
I must give you credit Mr Brown for openly admitting that you are just a really good showman and not some wonder of nature with exceptional powers trying to con people for a living. Much respect sir.
@@skylined5534 There was a show about him that aired here in Australia that definitely made that claim. But it was probably the producers of the show that decided to say that, and not something he knew about or approved of.
The "affair" thing really got to me. Appearing to have power over someone then just coming out with that is nothing but cruel. What did she do to deserve that? He got angry at Derren and lashed out at the woman opposite. Disgusting.
He felt so immasculated by Derren showing him up, but he knows that Brown is better than him and only felt like he could take it out on her. Very cruel, nasty little man.
It was a shot in the dark. You can see he was hoping REALLY hard the relationship broke down because one of them cheated, so he could awe them with his psychic knowledge but he didn't have anything more than that one jab so he just aborted like nothing happened. He was desperate to not seem like a quack and took the risk of seeming like petty, cold-hearted fraud.
I have LOVED Derren's work ever since I was a kid in the 90's. I remember sitting on the living room floor and watching him on our tiny CRT TV. He once convinced a worker at a dog racing place that his losing ticket was a winner. Now, she may or may not have been working for the show and it may have been fake but at the time I was astonished.
Well done for continuing to expose such charlatans that prey on the vulnerable. They're no less than vultures feathering their own nests at others expense. Bravo Sir.
My brother passed and I know for sure, if he could reach me through a psychic, he wouldn't be saying stuff about the number of people in our family or the name of a random aunt we only met twice or someone's sore knee. He would be saying stuff like, "you're not gonna believe it, what a trip!" and then go on to tell me stuff about what he's going through. If we had one chance to communicate, neither of us would want to waste it on wondering who in the family didn't get a promotion they were hoping for.
I can tell you so you maybe change your view about psychics . I have a friend who is a really good Psychic . She predicted something about me that absolutely nobody knew even I never wanted or knew anything and she argued with me what will happen with my life. Guess what the path that I wanted to take failed step after step and I end up with only one choice and that choice let me go where she exactly predicted.and this is only one prediction. Not only that but sometimes it was embarrassing because she would tell me stuff that I kept secret from anybody intimate things and she would directly ask me about that. So I talked to her and asked her how do you do it. And she says Some people have the gift to see but the problem with many is they cannot decipher the information. So this guy Joe could see random information and does not understand it correctly. So he will throw numbers persons stuff that come clear to him. He cannot understand the information and the things that he sees . That is the difference between good Psychic and bad. She said there are ones that see everything like a good story and some that see just small parts. Even she said I see something but I don't understand it it does not mean anything to me . So she just throws some words and says if it makes any sense to you it is ok I am telling you what I see but don't get it. So that is the difference . But cold reading Ang all that bs I know there are such people but I don't trust such people. To me a good Psychic hits stuff that only know . Example I was living 320 km away and went home she saw me and she said What is happening with the black hear girl ? You are in deep love aren't you going to tell her. I see the passion . How would she know when I was away 320 km and I met a girl and went with her a few night and was thinking to become dating her but did nothing. She described the girl like it was before her eyes with all the details ? Who can do this. Plus I went to talk to her about a completely different thing. And she started immediately about that girl. And have many more examples even predictions of the birth of my boys.
@@EPICSOUNDTRAX So curious, does she say the dead are talking to her? What is the source of her hunches? Is she a mind reader? I was a pretty girl and started to develop early. We saw a gypsy with a crystal ball at a fair, she predicted many friends and many boyfriends in upcoming years, did she need a crystal ball to see that? I studied a lot of psychology to become a social worker. Often when I meet young people I can guess where they're headed and I;m correct. I can also meet older people and know things about their past. It's not mind reading or anything psychic, it's intuition. But also you said she asked you about things. If I ask have you met anyone and you blush, I'll conclude you're smitten. Again, intuition and a bit of understanding body language. Look, there was a million dollar prize on offer for years for anyone who could prove psychic ability. No one ever succeeded. 1964 till 2015. I think your friend has good intuition and if that's helpful for you, that's great. The prize was offered by a man named James Randi, he was a magician who later began exposing frauds, there are videos about him on youtube if you're interested.
@@TheKim369 example We were about to get married and she said Yes I see that you are going to get married and the witness will be a young guy your age. Well we already had a friend whiteness that is a girl . Then she said no no it will be a guy whiteness I don't see a girl. Guess what at the wedding day our girl cancels at the last minute so we basically pulled out phones and the only one who answered out phones was Matt and we went with him. So no it is not mind reading and I never gave her more information leading to her saying thing. Another example I had my plans 100% for Europe and I was 100% sure I will go to colleges in Europe And she said without me saying anything.ahe said Pack your stuff for USA I will miss you. I said what USA I don't even plant to go there and she said no everything that you plan now will not happen I see america. Same thing everything that I had for Europe went down the toilet .the last resort was USA plus she said without me telling her she said it is a girl that is inviting you and started smiling and said she will be.......and then nothing. Guess what my girlfriend refused to marry me and the girl that invited me is already 20 years my wife. I don't think she reads minds. Talking to the dead.i don't think so I don't think she does that But for sure she can predict the future.
Well they have to give personal proof. The proof is meaningless to you but you dont understand if the mum made ham pea soup every friday for 50 years and it was a tradition. So saying that is very meaningful to the daughter as it allows her to trust what he next says with the comforting. so thats why a real psychic would come out with weird things like that.
@@Alfie-bj4ru Please don't say you actually believe in psychics after Darren clearly demonstrated it's BS? Don't give me these grifters any money. Pea soup would have been very popular in her Mother's generation. The majority of lower and middle class UK families ate that in the 20th century, right up to the 70's and 80's, as it was nutritious and cheap. Check out some work by the Randall Zwinge and his one million dollar paranormal challenge. He dedicated his life to outing these malignant frauds who prey on vulnerable people's grief and sorrow.
regardless. If you actually open your mind to the possibility of it, Then playing devils advocate what is the purpose? Also the 'afterlife' whatever that may be is always repoted to be a place without human emotions so ofcourse the loved ones would always say they are fine and reasure their loved ones because they are fine and they care about them. The specific proof for that person is relevant because the spirit is not trying to prove its that womans mum for your sake... They are doing it for the daughter who is getting te readings sake so IF psychics are real then it would look how it does appear from the more convincing ones. Craig and Jane Hamilton Parker are seen as the best psychics in the world right now and 100% genuine in their abilities and they have a UA-cam channel and i would recomend watching Craig as he makes big predictions that often time come true and we can discredit psychics due to the huge number of fakes out there but scientifically it is truely ignorant to say its not possible when the FBI have documents that are accesable to the public through their freedom of information requests a paper about Remote Viewing and a man went to the CIA in order to teach remote viewing with the intention of helping blind people see but the CIA tried to weaponise it. This man did prove in this FOI request you can see they acknowledge the findings of his results as true and it worked he managed to make a 100% blind person drive a car blindfolded using ESP. There has recently been a study showing we have found thehuman bodies cells vibrate at a resonant frequency. Psychics for centuries have been claiming they pick up different vibrations and thats a source of their ability and now we have proven with science that humans do vibrate on a cellular level. As time goes we will prove more and more with science. We already believe in the holographic principle and higher spacial dimensions so how ignorant do you have to be to discount it completely because we dont fully understand it. Im not talking about the Uri Gellers of the world im talking about the Psychics that before you walk in they did their circle they made contact with your loved one before you goto the meeting and when you go they literally have a piece of paper and read off all the things that were said a message and a future path they see for you. You cant just goto a psychic on the day and them contact a loved one tats not how it works. The psychic over many years has to perform a circle every week the exact same time without fail and over time it allows a bridge for spirits to communicate by the consistency of the circles and thats what allows a connection to be made. Jane Parker wont see you unless someonoe comes through for you in her weekly circle and alot of people are rejected if no one comes through for them so not being interested enough to try and understand how its supposed to work if it is real is the reason you will remain close minded. You cant make your mind up on everything in life based on what others tell you. sometimes you have to actually do the reasearch yourself. Notice how i phrase all of this. Im not saying Psychics are real im sayin IF they are this is my understanding of it based on the reasearch ive done but if you believe in Aliens. Whats to say Aliens are not from a higher spacial dimension and they cumminicate through vibrational energy by either increasing or descreasing their frequency to show something in our dimension just like a 3D sphere is a circle in 2D or your shadow is a 2D representation of you in the 2D but thats just the information that can go through lower spacial dimensions. The more you understand about physics and Quantum theories it actually is that science is leading towards proving the existence of ESP and proving that higher dimensional beings or objects are being projected into our 3D universe. Just like we project our 3D selves onto a 2D surface with our shadow. That is literally our information incoded on a 2D plane. So i hope if you read this it explains what im saying in a way you wont of heard it before.@@dionst.michael1482
Ive been to medium shows knowing that its nonsense but it's fun when the person is entertaining. This guy, however, has all the charm of a bailiff seizing your kids' toys without a grain of remorse.
😂😂 The envy was real!! I thought he was gonna have green lazzer blazer eyes!! He was awful, leading the sitter, very bad never ask questions if it don't fit it don't and move on I'd rather give someone money back than give bad lies and cold read
Honestly it felt like Derren was partly hot reading there. Like he had already looked up this woman on social media to recognize the bits Joe would bring up. So yeah, if that was purely cold, good show.
BIG respects to all skeptics who question when others lie to other people to take their money. Big thanks to Derren for putting full episodes up. I've seen clips before but watching the full thing was great!
You should see the Amazing Randi - the magician who exposed and embarrassed so called psychics 🔮- even offered £10,000 to a million pounds to prove genuine psychic ability and not one out of thousands he tested ever won the money 😂
The fact that the first lady linked the pea soup comment to her mum just because she was a bad cook just goes to show how open people are to hearing what they want to hear and linking the vague things these con artists say to themselves.
Definitely. That made no sense. He could have named any dish or food, and she'd have said her mum was a terrible cook. Joe might also have been ready to make the pea soup about the Pea Soup Fogs that were a thing in the 1950s. You could relate that to anyone in the UK who was alive in that decade...
Absolutely. This is 80% of how this stuff works. People book readings from psychics because they believe in them, so most of the work is done before they even open their mouth. As soon as someone that doesnt believe in it gets a reading things start to fall apart as this programme shows. These people justify their con by claiming they are helping people. They are fraudsters...nothing more.
There’s a reason it’s always mostly women falling for it, because they’re usually more gullible than men and when a man is raised by women they usually feel like they can’t communicate with the dead just like their mums etc Lmfao.
Who said it was a blind shot? What's your point caller? If you read what the OP said, and it's really very clear, it's that the audience member didn't connect Pea and Ham soup to her mother, she only acknowledged the mention of a type of soup and said her mother was a bad cook. Joe "the Power" Powers could have said Guacamole and Custard and that woman would still have said, "eh, eh, eh, thaz a kinda food intit? Me mutha was a terrible coook so she was, eh".@@highdownmartin
Joe Power is displaying all of the classic traits of a passive aggressive narcissist. Especially at the end when directly confronted, he turns it around to make Derren look like the bad guy. This is gaslighting and it's extremely dangerous to people's mental health. I can't believe this wasn't mentioned in the show or comments.
That was interesting that when Darren told the woman he is in no way psychic yet later she convinced herself that Darren was infact psychic, then Joe tried to get a hit with the affair, he knows with young attractive people often have affairs so he took a chance and missed. This entire program showed us that people want to believe and they connect the dots for themselves. People want to believe so badly that they do most of the work themselves. It is very easy to con people that are so eager to be conned.
@@MrJ2theC Typo and he must have meant er, Warren. In fairness, he is not the only one not noticing it is Derren and even my spellchecker queried it as I typed this.

@philipjohnkaye8890 of course you're vulnerable if you're grieving. People will cling on to any tiny hope that the person they love isn't just gone to try and make sense of their loss. They're more likely to fall for these kinds of tricks because they're desperate and in pain. That doesn't make them naive or gullible, it means they're being taken advantage of at a low point in their lives which is utterly despicable
Agreed, I remember some woman fell out with me cause I told her she was being conned by some evil fucker pretending to talk to her dead mother. These scum are the worst lol.
He is very aggressive and anyone genuine would not say , “ Well that’s what I’m getting” as if I’m right your wrong !! A complete charlatan great work Derren 💫💫
15:00 He was so insecure and jealous of Derren performance that he needed to showboat and almost ruin this poor girl's life by making up some affair. That is almost evil.
Well I would wonder why there would be, you have no physical needs or fears left for yourself or others, everything we valued alive would seem so futile foolish and petty.
It horrible how aggressive he gets when he feels threatened, even to those people at his show who thought they were connecting to their loved ones. Nasty guy
I despise ‘psychics’ my ma dropped dead in front of me when I was eight. It was in the kitchen, one minute she was cooking dinner the next she was on the floor dead of a heart attack, she was 39. Being only eight I didn’t know what had happened. We were in the house alone together,so for the next couple of hours I sat on the floor with her stroking her hair and saying “ ma wake up “ eventually me grannie came home, suddenly I was whisked away still not knowing what happened. Since then (14 years ago) me grannie has spent a fortune on these revolting people, she’s trying to make contact with me Ma. The heartbreak she went through and is going through’ just refreshes her pain when she sees psychics and it hasn’t allowed her to mourn properly or to move (if you can from such a thing) on? these charlatans are deeply hurting people and robbing their wallets as they do so!🤬
OK, mate, I am really sorry for what happened to you it must have been awful for you. and I share your feelings about so-called psychics I believe the secret is that many people want it to be true
I'm so sorry for the Loss of your Mum - that is very traumatic for a child {I too lost my Mum very young} These fake charlatans are crooks. I hope there is an 'Afterlife'- but who knows.
I can’t ‘see’ how this gentleman gets away with charging these people eye-watering prices, when he clearly ‘sees’ that he cannot defend any of his claims. I wish he were more transparent. Thanks for the interesting and eye opening video. Cheers.
It is galling that Joe and the "see using your jap's eye" fella make a living doing what they do. But the reason they get away with it is very, very simple. There is an abundance of gullible people in this world with more money than sense who desperately want to believe in something despite there being absolute evidence that it's a sham. People who visit psychics (except for simple entertainment) really need to see trained counsellors instead. It's more understandable that people with disabilities (like blindness) or health problems cling to any little hope that comes their way. I also think it's a bit concerning that the "see through your genitals" guy decided that blind people (including those born with no eyes) can see through their genitals, because it allows his interactions with vulnerable people to focus on their intimate areas. If there was such a grotesque thing as a text book on "How to Sexually Abuse Vulnerable People", I can't help but think this "method" would be in chapter 1.
Depressed and Mourning people will pay a huge amount for a small hope. Of just a touch of maybe this looney will ""see and talk to"" dear old passed over MOM/Dad/ Grandparents/ Aunt / Uncle/ COUSIN Bubba and the dog you had when you were 5 and was hit by the Mail Truck.
My dad told me that when he died I would know as when I get home he would stack all the furniture and and rearrange my house, that way I would know he had died without me even being told. He died in a helicopter crash in 2013. Nothing he said to me happened, apart from a death sympathy card fell off the mantle piece. That's all I have, I still think it was a coincidence. Miss you dad! X
I had the same conversation with my late husband that was 10yrs ago & not a sniff of anything & he said if there’s an after life he’ll be the 1st to come back
He invites people he's worked with before the his show and uses them for much of the most emotional crowd work. This impresses the new people and the returnees don't mind because the love that their loved one is mentioned again.
When you have to make excuses for not getting it right, and getting aggressive about being challenged doesn't just ring warning bells, the whole bell tower has fallen on your head! Definitely a confidence trickster whether he is aware of it or not.
As a fellow gifted person, the spirits are telling me that the neckerchief flat cap combo looks spectacular on him. He should in no way immediately seek a stylist. Also, I don't think I've ever seen a cleft nose before. Fascinating! The cameraman kept zooming in on his bum crack, which I feel is unfair. Glad to see the belt doing its job.
That's not a cleft nose, it's a piercing done wrong. He was at Claire's Accessories getting the nose piercing, then asks the technician about the affair, and was so taken aback she fired the piercing gun at the wrong angle!
It’s why I love Darren and think he is one of the best. Never deceitful, never lies. He could easily go around and pull a Uri Gellar and say he has these god like skills and paranormal skills etc. So sad how ppl prey upon the vulnerable
I was wondering if British people also have birthday calendars at the toilet? We Dutch people have, and if someone died we usually put a cross, sometimes also a year.

When I was a young girl I made a pact with my Nan that if there was life after death, she would contact me. However, we made the pact with a secret password, 😂😂😂😂. No psychic yet has ever guessed it. They always went red in the face and tried to change the course of the conversation. Everyone was a fake.
lol Was your nan's name June? Or Jean? Maybe Jane or Jan? Something beginning with J? The password is some sort of animal. Alpaca or some goatlike creature? Shortbread! How did I do?
@@renejean2523 Failed I’m afraid. If there was life after death, my Nan would be having a great laugh at the way I catch them out. It’s my favourite hobby.😂😂😂
It’s absolutely classic in psychology that people will often react in anger if they are caught out, an another form of misdirection. Genuine people seek to clarify. Guilty people turn to anger.
You also see him resort to ad-hominem methods when he's called out - "It's your fault it didn't work" rather than giving a genuine reason. All of this is designed to descredit the scrutiny that is being placed upon him.
I recently a read an interesting book on psychology. I used to believe anyone who resorted to anger after being confronted aren't always guilty. Sometimes they can be angry and insulted about being accused of something they didn't do. I once thought my ex was cheating, confronted her, she went ballistic and was angry. Later found proof she was innocent as her friend had video proof she was at her house instead of at another blokes house. Since reading that book and reflecting on that situation I no longer assume people are guilty when they show anger, I just assume they are angry at being accused of something they didn't do. The real way to analyse if they are lying is listening and analysing their body language. Fidgeting, unable to make eye contact, stuttering and giving too much information in their responses.
Loved that sit-down Derren had with the guy who promises to cure blindness. If anyone was ever confused on what "gas-lighting" means, they need only watch that interview! Every single answer he gave Derren was simply to blame him for not being able to see how his methods worked.
I've seen many mediums. Some I've believed cold read, some have picked up a few items and others have been so accurate that it's scary! Two mediums at opposite ends of the spectrum come to mind. One was fishing for information ( that I didn't give her ) and eventually said " I don't think spirit wants to speak with you". I knew she was fake but knew others who hung on to her every word. The other was a lady who told me something only I would know. Not something that anyone, including my family knew. She then said three other things that only I would know. This woman didn't know me and didn't know any of my friends. I never let my facial expressions give me away and sometimes 'smile in recognition ' when something is wrong to see how far the medium would go. This lady who did know things was incredible though.
It’s not self belief, rather ignorance arrogance and no remorse or empathy, they just don’t care about anyone whilst appearing convincing! They don’t do it, they live it, it’s an obsession or an addiction to them, you practice everyday you can be good at anything eventually!!
There's people on their death bed praising a made up entity (of their choosing) and yet you're amazed by someone who's confident in his successful scam that earned him his very luxurious living?
To me it comes across as desperation rather than self belief. He's desperate to be a successful and the whole time he's under pressure to sound confident. I find it really uncomfortable to watch because he looks vulnerable all the time. More about the subject's willingness to believe.
It makes me sad seeing vulnerable people just enjoying hearing what they want to hear. I really like Derren Browns openness and the way he gives the honest intuitive reflections.
Joe's extreme defensiveness when questioned or confronted smacks of narcissistic personality disorder. His 'I must always be right...but if anything goes wrong in the reading, it's not my fault' attitude is very revealing, IMHO.
Joe’s extreme reaction-assuming that he’s been insulted, rather than calmly asking *whether* he has been insulted. He jumps to the worst conclusion in no time flat.
You can also see in his body language classic NPD traits. His eyes are almost never blinking or breaking eye contact, he studies people to gauge whether they believe him. Narcissists do this for control and intimidation but also because they do not connect with people the same way / feel empathy so they constantly monitor others to see if their tactics are working. It makes sense that he is good at what he does because narcissists are masters at reading people and often seek out their vulnerabilities to exploit. he really found his calling 😅
The same thing has happened to me when I performed a magic trick and someone thought I was magic and then I showed them how I did it and they still felt that I used magic the first time. People sometimes just want to believe in the supernatural.
I mean, we’ve all seen Yuri Geller “not feeling it” on Carson. Amazing how that only ever happens when a skeptic is involved, and things can’t be jiggery pokied.
That was an awesome episode. The late, great James Randi helped Johnny set up the impromptu tests for that! Geller was scared shitless when he came out and saw everything sitting there! He actually pretty much admitted as much as he was sitting down! lol!!!
It’s always “I’m getting the letter M” or “I’m getting the number 5” and the second someone confirms it’s for them, the spirit starts talking in full sentences like “I’m fine, don’t worry about me! I’m always watching over you!”
My mother once visited one of these charlatans and paid about £500 😨 She's so damn desperate to have her mum back and her childhood that she openly weeps I understand why She's grieving, but I wish she would utilise common sense
Ah haaa . Hadn't realized second half existed . You SMASHED IT again Mr. Brown . He / they.. should be facing serious charges... or beatings . It turned my stomach seeing him not being able to hide / control his annoyance at being 100% outsmarted . All he could muster was brutish , unintellectual defensiveness , a child's reaction ; or , a liar's eh .
My mum was part of the spiritualist church and had many readings, she was a real believer and told of some amazing readings; she was very easily led. When she died me and my g.f. went to her church and the first person the medium came to was me. My gf was amazed and excited for me. When we got outside she was bursting with enthusiasm and couldn't wait to get my reaction. I thought it was a load of bollocks. She was shocked but when I applied a little reason and common sense she too was of the opinion it was bollocks. Had I not been there my ex would of truly believed this bs. I'd love to think some mediums are genuine but I highly doubt it.

Ive seen Darren in person and I have to say that he is a master of his craft. Everyone he picks is truly at random and not once did you feel what he was doing was a lie. It was art and mental games. I know how megicians work first hand and I dont enjoy them but I really enjoyed Darren.
The best part was that Derren actually says ‘do you mind if I……’ while half pointing at the toilet door. Joe then cuts him off and then when he’s finished talking says ‘of course you can use the loo’ with a smug grin on his face as if he psychically knew Derren needed it
The most disgusting part of this is that they have made the conscious decision to spend years learning skills that they will eventually use to steal from vulnerable and grieving people. Not surprising when you see the other disgusting traits that this guy has. The pure embodiment of a classic manipulator. The only thing I believe that came out of his mouth is "I can sleep very, very well". People without a conscience have that ability.
Almost NO ONE sits around saying, "im the bad, mwhaha". Quite the opposite, everyone's the hero in their own story. Its much more likely hes convinced himself that the comfort he brings is worth the pricetag, or maybe even that his cold read works because he really has powers! If people are good at one thing, its justification, and thats working overtime on both sides of a paranormal reading.
@@karenamyx2205 I strongly disagree and think that is a very naive view. He doesn't give a shit about the people he takes money from. There are millions of scammers, con artists, and thieves in the world who know exactly what they're doing. This guy is one of them.
It doesn't take years. Derrens opening statement on his first go was Barnham speech which anyone would have agreed with. It just takes a simple understanding of how it works.

We decided to go in & listen but not give anything away. For me he gave random letters of the alphabet. None of them were a hit. He suggested I share with my parents what he’d said as they’d know who the spirit was. For my mother-in-law, he connected with her dad and lots of messages for her - but her dad was downstairs drinking at the bar. We felt it was BS, but the suggestion her dad is dead has now left a question mark over paternity. Even though we don’t believe it, the seed of that idea has been planted. Those that believe this guy is psychic, believe her biological dad is dead, and the man that raised her isn’t her dad.
That’s the argument I’ve heard: “it’s harmless because they give comfort”. No. They profit on someone desperate for closure and feeling grief. That is horrific.
I used to think that maybe mediums had some sort of gift. That was until I went to one during a very troubled time in my 30s. It was the most insulting but in hindsight, laughable experience I ever had. My brother died at the age of 24 - I was 22 - and my dad became an alcoholic because he couldn't deal with the grief. I was a very naive 22 year old but had to grow up in an instant to look after my mum who had not only lost her son, but her husband too (through drink). The impact to our lives was shattering and immeasurable. How odd then that the "psychic" didn't mention any of this! Nothing that had shaped my life until then came to her through the spirit world. She talked a load of twaddle about me finding love and she could see me on a yacht in the med (I hate sailing!). Oh yes she also talked about an old man who she thought was probably my grandad who used to rest his bike against the wall of the house. That could have been every single older man for the times we were talking about. It was comically painful because she just kept chucking names at me and in honesty not one of them was anyone I knew. It was actually a helpful (albeit quite costly) experience because it made me realise that it was all rubbish. I now truly hate the way these people prey on vulnerable, and more importantly grieving, people to make money. They are charlatans and should be ashamed.
Sally Morgan is another one. She is often way off the mark. She went onto the big brother house and showed her true colours. She gave a load of predictions and NONE of them came true. She's a complete charlatan. I'd love to see her with Derren.
I'm so sorry for the terrible loss you have suffered @widget and the effects it had on your family 😥💔 These people really are shameful for ripping off vulnerable and grieving people... disgusting their "trade" as it's all lies and deceit
@@ElizabethWarrenYeahYeahI've been on two 'haunted' nights (in old buildings, with Barry Ghai from the show Help, my house is haunted) where Sally was the medium. Neither was very successful ! Definitely creepy places with quite a lot of atmosphere but that was about it.
I am so sorry you lost your precious brother 😢. I understand what happened to your parents, I lost my 14 year old son. It must mean the entire world to your Mum, you standing in. How blessed we are that we each still have a child left to love ❤❤❤. Thank you for being there for your parents 🤗💯
@@jennebeattie3168 I'm so sorry for your loss too. I saw how it affected my mum and dad and it's something no parent should have to go through. It just isn't the natural order of things is it. My dad died in 1997 of alcohol induced dementia, and sadly my mum also now has advanced dementia so my family memories are all the more precious. Mum very occasionally remembers my brother if she is on a good day so those moments are very special.
amazing how they always turn against derren when they are caught out. joe's childlike attitude is what you would expect from anyone who is cornered and knows it. And when he asks to see through a box, what should be a simple task according to 'level 3' training he gets defensive refusing yet again cornered. well done derren
I am of the opinion that sponging money off people to re-open their wounds, and lying to them, is horrific. Justifying lying to devastated individuals by saying it makes them feel better is cynical in the extreme. I am with Derren Brown on this. Charlatans should be shown up for what they really are.
I’d say if you’re thick enough to believe these acts then you deserve to be taken advantage of. The same way people who fall for the “click here to win $$$” scams and end up robbed or their identity stolen deserve it for being morons. And the bright side is, it may be a very expensive or traumatising experience so they’ll hopefully learn from it.
The reason Joe Power's first reading went so well is bc he was able research beforehand. A lot of "Psychics" will have their customers complete a card or fill out a form to get the appt and it has a lot of their personal information where he can search their social medias and other info to get the info needed to do these readings. Just big time scammers and it's disgusting...
Similar to TV shows.. they Mike the audiences and listen in to their chats before shows... The amount of information they spill is obviously handy when the show starts....
I can't be bothered with any big mouth, big personality medium or psychic with a mike in their hand and would never go to see one. It seems like a load of nonsense...but... you can see it does bring a kind of peace to some who've lost loved ones. So it was a big surprise was to find out how several First Ladies have been users of certain unusual "methods" during their husband's career. But the biggest surprise of all is when something significant happens to moi ! And that's when you're finally stunned into realising there's more to this life going on around us than you ever thought possible.
The "Pam" reading is showing him as a cold reader. Uses the bathroom to guage the kind of personal information he throw out. Many face creams, shower gels etc. Then he says that the person is getting a bit from granny in the spirit world who's saying you're very proud of your appearance, take great care of yourself etc.
yeah he asked to use the loo at the first reading too - so he can poke about in bedrooms looking at any family photos near to beds and personal belongings etc
Love how he tried to completely flip the conversation they had before going in! He had to realize it was all recorded, and yet continued to insist he said the exact opposite of what he did! That takes balls right there!!! lol!
Omg that was my favorite, when he corrected the lady that Darren already told him he’d been here and she agrees he was there that morning; then two minutes later he’s claiming Darren had told him he HADN’T been there.
I find this so interesting because I do believe in spiritual abilities. Having listened to Derren Brown, he didn't lie to this clairaudient guy at all, even though he was accused of lying. I don't believe this guy is a real psychic, and he seems unnecessarily defensive. If his abilities were real, he would be confident within those capabilities and he wouldn't be flipping out so easily.
Its rather funny how nobody (yet!) has claimed that prize money he and his school/team have offered. It seems that most … ALL! .. psychics can’t seem to preform under pressure…
It's hilarious how defensive he gets when he does a bad reading or Derren states facts, like when he saw the mini. He turns it all around on the person stating facts or accusing him, saying they're the one's disrespecting the dead.. As for the blind course, that's just someone trying to sell something you want to believe and sometimes imagine happening, but when you realize its absolute rubbish, you get told you don't understand or aren't as superhuman as the creator. Again stringing people along for as long as they can. Then when you pull a box out and tell him to do his magic he's apparently superior to the UK and the most intelligent human on the planet.. i think he genuinely needs psychological help
A psychic once told me that I had a parent that recently passed to the other side and that I often worry about finances. It was amazing how accurate he was and that he helped me so much in telling me that.
Odd that nobody who "comes through" ever shares details of the afterlife, information unknown to the sitter, or even bringing truth to light about their death if it was an unsolved murder or crime.
It's also odd that nobody ever pops up saying that they really disliked the person that is having the reading.....and nobody pops up saying that they're having a terrible time of things in the afterlife and are in pain and torment.
Profiting from grief. What a standup bloke.Glad Derren showed him for what he is
Absolutely! I've yet to see anyone who can do it and it being real.
Psychiatrists profit from grief

Bravo Sir.
Agreed, if they really cared about bringing comfort to people, they'd be doing this for free.. Charlatans absolutely

Cokey Joe too not just a fake psychic .
Exactly! My brother passed in 2020 , there's a bunch of little phrases he could send where id know it was him straight away
And she says
Some people have the gift to see but the problem with many is they cannot decipher the information.
Example I was living 320 km away and went home she saw me and she said
What is happening with the black hear girl ?
@@TheKim369 example
We were about to get married and she said
Yes I see that you are going to get married and the witness will be a young guy your age.
Another example
I had my plans 100% for Europe and I was 100% sure I will go to colleges in Europe
And she said without me saying anything.ahe said
Pack your stuff for USA I will miss you.
Talking to the dead.i don't think so
I don't think she does that
But for sure she can predict the future.
Nah he would definitely be telling you about pea soup 😂
Imagine talking to your mum from the afterlife and all she can muster up to communicate is pea soup. 😂😂😂😂
And ham!

People are gullible.

Not necessarily true. People wrongfully arrested usually get very angry for eg.
Very telling how defensive these people get when challenged.
Its amazing how these spirits can often give very explicit details yet at the same time cannot even get their own name right 😅
I've seen many mediums.
Proof for me would be a guided tour of the afterlife

What amazed me is the confidence this man has …. Just shows you what can be done with such self belief

I've met conmen, they are very confident and generally are charismatic. it's how they con people.

Agree, he's very narcissistic and probably not a nice guy away from the 'psychic' world ...

This lady: I think he is psychic

My hubby’s family paid for me to have a psychic reading as a bday gift. It was a bit random as I’d never asked for one & I’m a sceptic.
We went in one at a time to have a private reading. My sister-in-laws believed in this guy and were really impressed. They came out telling us all he got right.
My mother-in-law was a sceptic like me.

Are you being sarcastic?
Odd that nobody who "comes through" ever shares details of the afterlife, information unknown to the sitter, or even bringing truth to light about their death if it was an unsolved murder or crime.
Yeah, really. Afterlife is very dull indeed according to those visiting spooks.
It's also odd that nobody ever pops up saying that they really disliked the person that is having the reading.....and nobody pops up saying that they're having a terrible time of things in the afterlife and are in pain and torment.
Really odd isn't it
@@davegaskell7680 Because they are not having a bad time, everyone is happy on the other side.
