I would assume she finds solace in understanding how much of an ass they publicly make of themselves by acting like that. In fact I think she expected just that from her own experiences in such groups.
You can learn to have this kind of calm & resilience. You basically need two things: 1. Have confidence in yourself & what you believe in. You know that you are a person who deserves respect. It doesn't matter if someone disrespects you, because you respect yourself. If you are confident that what you believe is right, you don't need someone else to validate it, because you already know it's true. 2. Decide now that you won't take offense (no matter what anyone says or does). Making the choice ahead of time helps you make a wise decision that isn't swayed by the emotion of the moment. A lot of people believe that we can't control the way we feel, and to a certain extent, that is true. Emotions will come up, but we do have the ability to learn self control. We can change the way we feel & manage the way we react. It takes a lot of practice, patience, & humility. We have to let go of our pride & the desire to "win". We have to recognize that they are entitled to have their own opinion. When you let go of needing others to concede to your opinion, their opinions against you lose power. “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” - Eleanor Roosevelt

In fact I think she expected just that from her own experiences in such groups.
@@ViolosD2I She's a real one, that's for sure. I'd love to have that kind of resilience and presence of thought!
Its now how she's wired.
They can't give respect because they don't know what it is. They mistake respect for unconditional approval and acceptance.
You can learn to have this kind of calm & resilience. You basically need two things:

You cannot assume their gender, mate! 🤣
I don't think they're men; not even the male ones. I don't know what they are, some disturbing grown-up teens who haven't found any sense of stability, rationality or logic...
Very cowardice. They hold their signs and then tuck their tails in between their legs when questioned about them.
I can’t imagine the amount of self care she has to do after dealing with people like them. I just hope she’s making time to do so. I would need a whole vacation after that 😮💨😭
Fr. I also feel like these people haven't had a ton of immersion with other cultures and deal with some weird white guilt issues.
You are such a patient, logical, amazing woman.
“You’re here to support a food drive, but you’re signs don’t say food drive” 👏👏👏
I LOVE that she brought up and asked questions, questioned those signs and the protestors; she was calm, polite, and professional. She truly is a gem.
Courageous, moral, intelligent, gorgeous, young, and passionate. She's basically a black female Captain America. But she's real.
I am new to Amalas' channel. I love how this intelligent and respectfully polite young lady delivers topics on her channel. This particular cut is great. Most of these protestors really do not know what they are protesting about half the time, and let indignant angry feelings take over, rather than full informed information and fact.
What an amazing woman. I have so much respect for Amala.
I'm a 71 year old white guy. I hope I live long enough to vote for you when you run for president!
My condolences... man the 50s musta been great time to grow up. Early 60s to until like 68. What a great childhood you had.
@@anticommyalwaysbarker82 thank you ☺️ while some great things have come along in the years since I was a kid, it was a great time for many of us Americans. Unfortunately, not for all. However, there will always be sadness and hard times for some.
I hope so too because after you die you'll vote for her opposition.
Curious to know what happened after the camera stopped.
Anyway, props to Amala for trying to have civil discourse with those with opposing views.
Not just opposing views but immature, mentally-inhibited “protestors.” They bring up nitpicky arguments that aren’t relevant to anything said prior. What’s it matter that the camera isn’t pointed at them? We can still hear them.
After the recording Amala was throwing hands.
@@myharrybalzahk i’m sure she wouldn’t but if i was her i so would
I’m sure these babies went home while internalising “what the fuck did I do that for?” regarding the protest.
I'm sure nothing productive.
If they are protesting you then your doing something right. Good for you Amala.
They're not protesting though, they're just there for a food drive , those signs fell out of the sky and landed in their hands.
@@mambomeekyeah exactly
You’re so well mannered, eloquent and courageous. I’m a young woman and you’re definitely an inspiration.
Talking a bunch of hateful transphobic stuff is not a well mannered person at all!!!! You must not have ever known a true kind, well mannered person in your life.
@@Pete98613 she didn’t even bring up trans people until they did 🤣🤣
@@AWholeVibe96 She has been bringing up trans people literally for YEARS!! WAYYY before this video, so the laugh is on YOU since you obviously know her less than i do. This is the only reason I know this youtubers face, is from all the clips I see of her, talking nasty stuff about LGBTQ people, these clips get shared around on LGBTQ pages and groups. That is the only reason i know this youtuber's abnormally long face from. I don't know of her for any other reason but for her talking nasty about LGBTQ people all the time!
@@Pete98613 That sucks. When people talk about things I disagree with, I stop following them and any content related to them. It’s weird though because the LGBT people who works with her show up to work. So it can’t be as bad as it seems 😮💨.
We’re all passionate about something 🤷🏾♀️. She seems to be passionate about spreading her truth.
@@AWholeVibe96 Anti-LGBTQ bosses and co-workers are everywhere in this country. LGBTQ people have to show up to their job, and put up with it all the time, especially if they like what they do, and unable to find a better job.
I still have a few old friends on my facebook who i learned recently that they are homophobic. I haven't deleted them to avoid drama, but will no longer make plans to hang out with them, and will now act wayyy to busy to interact with them on social media as well. I will not put up with any sort of prejudice and shitty behavior directed towards any innocent human beings, it is the exact same treatment that the jews got from the nazis, and the blacks during the days of slavery. No one should have to live through anything like that. This youtuber is black, so she should no better to not treat another person with prejudice. Maybe she is too young and immature. Maybe when she gets older she'll learn not to be a jerk. Or maybe she is just one of those people who lacks empathy for others. Who knows what is up with her.
I don’t always agree with all the topics on this channel but i love how well spoken you were and very civil with the folks protesting inviting to question and having a discourse. And most couldn’t state their case.

"I don't always agree with...but..." is one of the most condescending comments anyone can actually put up when pretending to positively review your work.
It's like:
"I don't actually support what you stand for, what you work for...I just find this one video entertaining because it gives me the right adrenaline shots."
Such comments are actually devoid of logic.
@@AfrikanTribesman You're overlooking the always and you missed the 'all' which is pretty important here, they're not saying they don't support what she stands/works for. They're saying sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, and either way they have respect for her ability to be well-spoken and civil towards people with opposing beliefs. I don't interpret "I love how well spoken you were and very civil with all the folks..." as condescending, and the way you paraphrased what you quoted completely changes the meaning of the quote, logic check?
I love how calm and cool you are during all this, you are amazing. I absolutely love how you cite your sources and are absolutely open to debate or to hear anothers view. You go girl!!

I consider myself a conservative, but I always feel like so many conservative public speakers are just constantly angry at everyone and try to solve problems by shouting louder than everyone with opposing views, which I hate because it just worsens the problem and doesn’t invite conversations or show that they still respect others. I am so glad you break that trend. Keep doing what your doing!
Amala: "Can we have a civil discussion about why you're protesting my speech?"
Crowd: "Spaghettios!"
Them shouting that and Food Drive, you know she won the argument right of the bat.
