Self Propelled Lawn Mower Problem - Front Drive Check

Are you having problems with your self-propelled lawn mower? In this video, I will do a quick check on the front drive. The mower is a Craftsman with a Honda engine, but the front drive is similar to most other mowers.

Thanks for the video. I am not a mechanical person, but I checked what you were showing on my mower and the belt had somehow slipped off. I put it back and we were back to mowing same day. Probably need to replace the belt pretty soon, but it kept us moving. Much appreciated.

As a gardener, I have to say, 95% of the time just needs a new belt. Sometimes lose a gear or an angel clip but 95% is the belt if it doesn't propel right.

My gear that turns the wheel has so much resistance it was working fine until I greased everywhere and used compressed air on the underside for cleaning. Don't know what to do.

My problem is that I couldn't find a 3/8" x 35 3/8" v- belt. I installed a 3/8" x 35" belt. Now I jog and mow at the same time.

Hello, my black max mower shut off when I activate the self propelled handle.

My drive works, but stalls after 20 seconds of use. I can mow the whole lawn without using the self-propel (it's a good workout). Is this just a bad transmission locking up and causing the engine to stall? That's my guess, but I'll take it apart tomorrow. Any other ideas or things to look for? Thanks.

Update: I fixed it. Belt was just off track. I should have figured that since the guy I bought it from (craigslist) said he had just replaced the belt lol
