It was funny when Raden declared she would quit smoking for her oshi (because really, who wouldn’t?), but seeing her actually commit to that is really respectable.
I am thinking since she has an absolute chance on off-collabing with her oshi someday if she quits smoking and thats a huge motivator for her to quit since Aki hates cigarettes and I think that won't hug her if she smells like smoke.
Doubt she actually quitted, most smokers i know relapse. And in one clip she started smoking for a very dumb reason, dont know why hololive an idol company would hire someone who wont take care of their voice.
@@killerpalkiaNot really. My dad used to smoke 2 pack of cigarettes everyday but he quit smoking 5 years ago. He no longer smoke even now. So it's 100% for Raden to quit smoking too.

So whenever im walking outside, i always end up in someone's puff of smoke, 2nd hand smoking. I try to take a different route whenever i see a smoker but there's always times where i dont spot them and inhale a bunch of smoke and nicotine. Fuck smokers, inconsiderate fucks.

So whenever im outside it's common i end up in someone's puff of smoke, even if i take a different route when i spot a smoker, theres always some i dont spot due to how far away and small the cigarette is. End up inhaling 2nd hand smoke and nicotine. I have no doubt i might get lung cancer one day, cigarettes just cause negative externalities to society. I hate smokers due to how inconsiderate they are.

If Raden was actually a teacher before Hololive, then I can't blame her for smoking and drinking. The job is stressful.
Given her "more than just on par" knowledge and ability in Koyori's general exam, I'd bet she at least had a curator-like job before influenced by Hololive (particularly by Aki).

I'm glad she's similar to me where it was easier to quit smoking with minimal to no side effects (for me was binge eating). I do know other friends who had a hard time and a few even were hospitalized due to severe withdrawal effects.
Think she got to finally go to a doctor and they said her health was not good and she took that time away, so I think quitting actually had more to do with that, but this lore is really great

I have immense respect for Raden and anyone who quits smoking. My grandfather quit smoking after my mom got pregnant with me so he could be there for my parents and be there for me during my childhood. It’s not easy and I’m still working on convincing some of my friends who want to quit to try. It’s hard but doable. Find a reason/motivation that’s super important and find out what method works for you. My grandfather quit by eating starbursts and skittles every time he wanted to have a smoke.

pretty hard to quit really, was a chain smoker in college (2 packs a day). when i started working, i tried to quit (cold turkey) but unfortunately Withdrawals hit me harder than a fully loaded semi truck. after that i tried quitting thru vaping 8mg Nicotine juice for the first year, on the 2nd year went to 6 mg, 3rd year 4mg , 4th year 2mg and now after 5 years and 8 months I've been using 0mg Nicotine juice, im also able to exercise properly and lost some weight, imma try quit vaping by this year or next.

I figure if I don't have kids one or two a day won't hurt me, instead of the 20-40 other people are smoking.
If you gotta do it kids, do it in moderation. I know not everyone has the personality to not get hooked so I wouldn't reccomend starting either
Including Raden, Aki has managed to get two people that I know of to quit smoking. The first one is Jimmy. Her power to sway people to be healthy is pretty potent lol provided that they are as much as obsessed with Aki like the both of them.

As a smoker i too never smoke amongst my non smoker friends. The smell is too much for my girlfriends so i usually do it 2 hour before meeting them and intensively take a shower to make sure they don't hate my smell. So raden is actually based for not showing other people

I have no problems with smokers since I used to be a heavy smoker too back in college but I was happy when she said on MariFubu's stream that she quit smoking knowing her job depends on her voice. We've already had holomems taking lengthy breaks due to throat problems and smoking increases that risk a lot.
Moderation is key, smoking is good to de-stress.
Health risks aside, many Legendary Singers in human history are actually smokers LOL.

On a side note my father was a huge smoker and quit cold turkey for health reasons and i know thats uncommon but the fact that shes made it 2 months already is a great sign as the majority of ppl that try to quit relapse on just a few wks

Man It's really hard to quit smoking. It took me 3 years to finally quit smoking. But I vape though but not as intense as when I first tasted the sweet nicotine goodness.

As someone who also hates smoking, I don't like getting close to people who smokes. It makes us second hand smoker when we accidentally inhaled the smoke from the cigarette and I heard it is more dangerous than those who smokes it
The more dangerous part comes from the fact that most second hand "smokers" tend to be the children of smokers who are being exposed to the smoke in their homes/vehicles and such. The smoke itself doesn't get more dangerous from the cigarette being in someone elses mouth. It's still terrible for them though.
I hate smoking too. I don’t care who it is. The moment someone starts smoking or if I didn’t realize someone started smoking and I inhaled the smoke, I would gag as I really hate the smell of cigarette smoke as I jolt up and walk away.

As someone who used to get hospitalized AT LEAST once every 2 week (and nearly dying several times from lung problem) cuz of my dad being a heavy chainsmoker, I can vouch for this. Thankfully he stopped smoking entirely around 5 years ago. Though my lung issue still persist to this day, thankfully it's not as bad anymore.

My 3rd uncle (my father’s side, his 3rd oldest brother ) was not lucky. Due to being surrounded by smokers, he eventually got lung cancer due to those 2nd hand smoke and passed away at the age of 60.
Heartless as it sounds, don’t be afraid to show that you hate the smell of cigarette smoke and move away until the smoke clears out.
But since you mentioned it stopped around 5 years ago, that’s good.
great respect to Raden if she had really done it. my sister was quite the smoker as well and she tried to quit several times but is still smoking as we speak. I just hope she's doing all fine physically and mentally, smoking isn't a habit that you can quit in just a day especially if you are a heavy smoker.
Smoking cigarettes is also still very normalized in Japan so I can't imagine the withdrawls she had when she saw the amount of people casually smoking! Oshi love is undefeated

I mean in Hololive you have to dance while singing which requires proper breathing techniques, if you smoke it will make it difficult for you because you will often run out of breath, so Raden's decision, even for Oshi's sake, was the right decision
I think Aki said more a general phrase as she can't really tell another to quit drinking. There's a reason why the group of her, Lamy and Noel, sometimes Lui and maybe Marine (sometimes hangs out with the trio at least) is called Sakegumi. Raden may be the next member.
That being said, Aki had to cut back on her preferred drinks due to the carbonation effects on the throat. Not that she's given it up entirely.
Reason why I can image she had health/career reasons in mind, but when it comes to motivation, oshi is more powerful
