I don't like this mentality that yagoo fixed her, for a few reasons:
      1. This change came from her own willpower, she could have easily chosen to not quit. But she chose to quit and kept up with it. That all came from within.
      2. I don't like this pattern of people acting like yagoo is some all saving god, he's just a rich ceo, and yes he's got good ethics and he's certainly better than *other* vtuber ceos, but he isn't fault free and i feel like this act of putting him on a pedastal is mutually risky for both him and us.
      3. Following on point 1, as someone who has fought addictions (granted they were gacha addictions and not smoking) it feels very dismissive of the mental strength it takes to bust an addiction for good, by saying yagoo saved raden. I'm glad Hololive accepts them for who they truly are, I don't think many companies would allow their talents to just straight up say something like this during their debut, especially how sensitive social media is nowadays. This aswell 8:37, just straight up saying she's scared she's going to get fired, that's wild.
Also not only they accepted her, but how they help her, when you see members mentioning they don't like smoking or cigs, it doesn't feel like they're taking a hit on Raden, rather indiscreetly telling and encouraging her to stop smoking and you can see that Raden understands that.
Also that Ao-kun part saying how she talked and lended an ear to Raden for hours just to comfort and convince her not to quit, you can tell Hololive are not just workmates, they really are friends
    with each other.

For a first year Raden felt massive pressure. In that collab with Fubuki and Marine she mentioned she felt this huge pressure to measure up because all of these museums and other cultural places were flocking to her stream on the daily. I think even Marine and Fubuki would have felt the pressure even though they're pros but here's this first year and she has all of these high society cultural places in her stream and meanwhile she's passing herself off as a smoker/alchoholic/gambler as her persona. That must have been rough on her.

As someone who smoked a lot and has transitioned to vaping. I used to have a cup which I used as an ashtray. Whenever I review for exams, I fill up that cup to the brim on a single night. Yeah, smoking did feel good, but overtime you sometimes have to sit there wondering how fucked are you for the next 15 years when all of this shit comes back at you. You look at it and you just realize how much damage you've done to yourself overtime.
When I started reading philosophy on self-improvement and whatnot, I slowly realized how much shit human beings have to go through each passing day, and the cost of your choices aren't easily apparent overtime. When you live a life a suffering, you tend to find comfort in that suffering. That's why when you're met with anguish, you smoke. Fight fire with fire. And you realize you've been doing it wrong.
The worst you can get when you are into smoking is the sinking feeling of never getting out of it when you think you need to desperately need to get out of it. The first 2-3 years, you kinda get why smoking feels so good. Come 5 years or more, you start to loathe the fact that you need to smoke just to get things out of your system. Addiction is an abyss everyone thinks they can get out of, that is until you can't find your way out.

The shame that can often come with smoking, either because of the smell or people nagging you about your health makes it even harder. It's easy to internalize that shame and put yourself down, especially after trying to stop and relapsing. Her trying to get clean is a massive show of personal strength and character.

I quit 2 years ago. I wanted to start a Bolt Action army and get some paint for the models and realized i was spending 200$ a month on cigarettes that would be better used on more models...
So yeah, 2 years later i got a massive DAK army (about 150 men, dozen tanks, bikes, artillery/AT guns, various transport vehicules, even some 20 Gebirgsjägers with donkeys...), a fairly big Western Desert Italian army, a 40 man Fallshirmjaeger army with a few vehicles and about 20 Luftwaffe field division members and a 30 man early-war Blitzkrieg army with a couple vehicles and tanks...
At least THAT addiction ain't too bad for my health i guess :P

In reality, smoking is dangerous and can kill and I'm glad she quit, that's not an easy thing to do.

I'm 41 years old... When I was younger I smoked but it was very little... less than 1 cigarette a day... But when I moved alone to a new city... there was a time when I stayed I was very lonely... I didn't have many friends and outside of work I was alone... I ended up smoking a lot more... I think it was to deal with the loneliness a little!! My luck was that I managed to return to my hometown and it's been over 12 years since I've smoked a cigarette or even felt the urge to smoke!! It was the best decision of my life!!

I quit smoking a little over four years ago. It's hard but you can do it. First you need to want to quit; if your heart isn't in it the difficulty will be a lot higher. Then you just need to stop. Try quitting for two weeks. Whenever you feel the urge to smoke, remember that the urge will pass. Tell yourself that if you want to, you can always take up smoking again tomorrow but that you won't do it right now. And if at any point between now and tomorrow you are happy that you didn't smoke, remember that the next time an urge comes. The urges will fade. When two weeks is up, if you want to, start again. But if you feel glad and proud that you made it to two weeks, keep going. Stay quit for another two weeks or even a month. Everytime you feel the urge focus on defeating the urge. Outlast it. And if you ever do lose to the urge, don't despise yourself. Focus on all the times you succeeded, not on the time that the urge won. Start over as soon as you are ready. Take pride in every small victory. And know too that it's gonna feel awful for the first week and a bit because your lungs are waking back up and starting to expel all the bad stuff that has accumulated. And never forget what it was like to be a smoker. Remember the times it interrupted your life. The coughing in the morning. The odors. Feeling out of breath. All the awful things that make you want to stop. Because after you've quit for a while, the urge might come back again and it's easy to forget all those bad things. Those awful feelings are your defense against nostalgia. Write them down and carry them with you I'd you think it'll help. Good luck.

Can y'all not be so judgemental? It's her life and her freedom to decide whether she wants to smoke. She's not smoking in the presence of other people, so it's bothering no one. It's none of your business. She's a person, not a gemstone for you to polish to your personal liking.

There is a study with rats where when they where offered with water that has an addictive substance( i forgot what it was) all of them got addicted, but when they added a "rat park" where they can socialize and play, the rats had less of the addicting substance if not at all. So doing something that you love really helps fight against addiction, i guess it just shows how much she loves her work.

That ston s product seems real solid. It seems to be what vapes were originally promising to be, an actually healthy way of quitting smoking. Just straight up water vapor and some flavoring. Just sent it over to a couple friends that are addicted to vaping. Hopefully they look into it, because I’d really like to see them with more energy and just more lively. Hate seeing them in this constant state of needing a vape that interrupts their lives.
