  • Saanen 1977 - Public Discussion 4 - Facts, reality and truth
    Summary:
What is the relationship between awareness and truth?
Is fact different from reality? Is reality different from truth?
If you observe very closely without any prejudice, sensory activity becomes much more acute and there is more sensitivity.
Thought, which is the movement of time, tries to investigate into something which is timeless. That is impossible.
Is love the product of thought?
Where there is compassion, clarity and skill there is no vanity, hypocrisy or contradiction.
What is the relationship of intelligence to silence?

I lost my husband early this morning. It's been a 5 year battle for our family. When he got sick I saw that my catholic upbringing was not the truth and I shaded it. In my desperation I started looking for a true god in Hinduism, Buddhism, etc... I realized that those gods were the same as my previous one. And I was more lost than ever. I started listening to J and it helped me see lots of things but I couldn't find the one I was missing. Yesterday I lay in bed with my dying husband listening to this talk and I got my answer. I denied my fear of death for all these years and yesterday I saw it so clearly, I was so terrified of not knowing what would be after, would be of him. My brain finally understood that there is no answer for me, that I had been looking for something my brain will never grasp, will never understand and I got it. Truth at last, peace came. I told my husband I understood, I will never know where he is going and that was just fine. He died a few hours later. He had seen me listening to J while working, doing dishes, trying to sleep in anwish, in desperation not knowing that my search for god was based on my fear. I brought my husband home last Tuesday and I grew so desperate as we started hospice care. I was so afraid he would die and l would lose my mind at the same time, the answer came on time. Love never dies and death is not to be feared. Death was a dear friend who came to give my husband rest and to put my chaotic brain in its right place. I am not sure who would read this comment, I have read so many on so many videos and I always appreciated learning more by reading them. I hope my comment on this video finds whoever needs it. Thank you for this video and many more I watched in my darkest times. Thank you J. It was like you were talking to me, like old friends do.

@@KFoundation thank you so much for these videos. J came to my radar on my search for meaning, he never gave me a cheap answer, he made me find it myself. I knew it would be like that, he showed me the key and I just had to find the door myself. Thank you for these invaluable videos. Very important work you do ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing this. It means a lot, coming from a direct experience you have had in losing a loved one, which became a doorway for a deep peace and realization of something which will not come when we run here and there to find it. It resonates with me as I try to make sense of my own life which is at a stage where the inevitability of losing loved ones looms large. Among all scenarios of suffering, perhaps it is death that can bring home deepest truth to us and offer up the most potent lesson in the futility of clinging to our ideas and beliefs. I wish you love.

Everyone is so hard on the audience, but we forget that the audience is us and we are that audience. We get caught is separating ourselves from that audience.
The entire interaction is really great. It is a dialogue between two people. I am the audience even if it was 40+ years ago.
Thank you so much for making these available for all of us!

This is such an amazing lecture on so many levels - The clarity of his explanations, his mental congruity and amazing composure in dealing with an unreceptive audience.
I was struggling to understand the relationship between fact, reality and truth and this video was extremely helpful, although I've not entirely understood how love is not a byproduct of thought.
The woman with the dustbin analogy at the end was the most annoying, interrupting at possibly the most crucial juncture of the lecture.

Sir love is not a byproducts of anything rather than It's the holder, It holds the universe It's hold you, me and everything. Sometimes you find it as a quality within you if you hold the quality within you out of this quality every action is the right action, now everything is love.

That lady with bin examples seems she was trying to ask something about imagination
As she was telling again n again to imagine this n that to J.K
This is an instinct of human when human discover something he gets excited about it
Now we have virtual communication and lot's of videos on facts but that time that lady was afraid of losing her privilege to ask those questions
I can understand that feeling when you have only 1 person to understand in abundance of all and when you find this is the last time to meet or ask how it feels :)

As always, its just an "talk" for eccentric natured people. They cant stop their instinct nature i. e. They are much interested in experience something and enjoy that pleasure again and again. It is a beautiful talk but the the audience seems not serious enough to allow the speaker to convey the matter.

It seems to me that the audience wants a cookie-cutter answer to bring back home while Krishnamurti is trying hard to ask the audience to go within and along by asking the questions for themselves.

That time most people have very low IQ with low EQ
So it's quite obvious to have such response from abundance of masses
For example why back then people believe earth is flat? How it feels now to realise the truth?
      Same goes in those times
Now talking listening to these words seems normal familiar
Our brain is getting re-wired of listening those understanding those in ease

Truthfulness in thought, speech and action, also unity- without these... You will never understand, rather you will not accept the Truth. These what the audience is doing.

Those people all want an answer to their question from one man, how pretentious. The logic behind the questions they ask is way too complex and distorted to be based in truth
