This is beyond incredible. Marmoset is the best thing that happened to Texturing in recent years. You guys combine the hands on nature of some tools with the robust functionality of others, offering basically the best of all worlds. It is a blessing and an evolution.
You guys are the best devs I know seriously. You always listen to users for feedback and keep making this amazing software better and better!! Whilst other softwares made by corporations goes against what the artist needs for greed, you guys are always have mindset of "artist first " and keep moving forward so hard!! Thank you so much guys! I'm already happy with owning marmoset toolbag 4 perpetual licence but I'm going to upgrade to 5 to get these incredible feature and to show gratitude and support for you guys! please keep being awesome. Big love from Japan
You guys really do listen its insane, so many quality of life improvements each update. Truly thank you for saving us time and making our work easier and better.
Some really great features! Btw, I may have missed it, but does Marmoset have texture projection? It's would be really great to be able to project textures from scan data similarly to Mari or at least the less functional, Substance way.
The only thing stopping me from switching is the inability to change the navigation method. I'm used to blender and I've setup all my other softwares to be like that. Wish y'all added that feature too.
@@MarmosetCo One concern that bugs me personally is the inability to scroll windows with mid or right mouse button, like in Blender, or 3D Coat, or with CTRL+SHIFT+Drag, like it's done in Painter. .Always having to aim for that tiny left bar in each window to scroll it up/down feels like a chore inside the otherwise so great UX. Also the inability to assign custom shortcuts to certain tools feels a bit hindering compared to other apps. A Keymap would be most welcome.
Marmoset should dedicate more resources to improving its UI. The current UI suffers from information clutter, with elements appearing congested. Additionally, the component styling is overly complex, which tends to divert users' attention from critical functions. These issues collectively detract from the overall user experience and interface usability.
@@cr4723 I don't have many complaints about the workflow, but my main concern is that the UI components look like they're from 80s-era web design. Marmoset should take cues from other software applications. For instance, Blender's UI is notably flexible and modern.
Regarding the workflow, I have a suggestion for improvement: Often, when baking textures, we don't necessarily need a high-poly model. Currently, Marmoset requires us to duplicate a low-poly model into the high-poly group, which seems unnecessary. Could there be an option in the baking group settings to bake from the model itself?
@@ChaosProwler No, not Blender's UI! NEVER!! This is a pain in the ass! Then why don't you work with Blender? I don't understand you. Even though Blender is free, I spent extra money so I don't have to work with Blender.
@@cr4723 I’m specifically referring to its UI style, not its workflow or UX. Anyway, My point is that once you understand how Blender works, you’ll definitely love it.

these updates are amazing!
and the only guys to keep perpetual licensing too !! easily the reason why i dropped substance !
The flow maps!
Sync point is so much better than anchoring

Hmm, looking back at the video, it may be possible by adding the appropriate textures on some of the new vector layers.
*really* hoping to switch to this from substance lol

What concerns do you have with navigation? Would love some more information so we can better assist!

same annoyance here. also, being able to tap a hotkey to center the camera pivot over an area on the mesh surface is a must have.

Yes, interface usability. But it is the marmosets workflow, that is too complicated.
