The Fiat 500c (Aisin-Toyota) automatic stickshift is 3/10ths of a second slower 0-60 than 1986 Honda CRX SI. 1/4 mile time is 4ths slower but 10 mph faster than the Honda CRS SI. Meaning my little Fiat 500c is a classy cruiser but plenty fast if someone needed it to be. But I'm a gentle driver. Motorweek is testing the 500c Lounge. Base was 23,500 + leather/Boise etc. = 25,950 Then 10% tax = about $28,400 in 2012. I bought mine straight off the Dealer's Showroom floor. Currently at 93,000 miles and recently changed timing and serpentine belt, water pump and all adjusters at the Alfa Romero/Masarati dealer. Front struts are on back order. I still love this little thing!!
I bought a used 2012 500 Lounge in Rame cooper color, with 38.000 miles four months ago and i love it so far ! I own a V8 Mercury Grand Marquis and a V6 Jeep Liberty too ! So the 500 it's a perfect toy !
I've had my 500 Lounge for almost one year now, absolutely no problems. I have around 13K on it, the biggest complaint I have is that there is no really great position for the steering wheel (it always feels like I'm reaching), and the seats (cloth in mine) are not very comfortable for long distances. Other than that I think it's a great little car, getting 35 MPG which isn't stellar but it's not bad. Before the Fiat I also tested the Fiesta, VW GTI, VW TDI, Jetta, Mazda 2.
@Folgore8585 All decals can either be applied by the dealer (for an extra fee, I'd imagine [and therefore they obviously recommend it]), or they can give the kit to you and let you do the applying.
I remember when I was 10 or 11 my uncle was looking for a new car. I went with him to test drive a Spider. I remember thinking it was a little cheaply made and for a new car had a couple rattles.
@chipmonk434 Since there weren't that many of the original 500s imported to the US to begin with, the nostalgia factor doesn't work here like it probably does in Europe. That means that this is just another niche model that'll probably have a some demand to start and then fade away in a few more years.
They aren't at the moment, but they are doing it in the next 2-3 years. and aside from German cars, you don't see people buying European cars for their reliability...
@Tregaskis47 Oy. I'm gay and I drive a V8 engined Ford Thunderbird that I have to be careful with to hit so much as 20 MPG. So please don't go stereotyping us, thanks. And BTW, FIAT now is really reliable, and this is a very popular car. On sale overseas since around '08 I believe and they've had great reliability to this point.
That was the case in the first Fiat 500 but that was 50-60 years ago and that would be too slow now. Also this car is much bigger and heavier than first one. Probably more than 500 kg more weight.
@mazda6tuner99 I've already did! It was a fat nerdy guy, he looked ridiculous in it. They do have a "Sport" model but the Abarth version should be the one to wait for.
Really ? This is not a racing car. You have Abarth with 1.4L ~ 160 HP and i think that is enough for this car. Also some 1.8 T-Jet or TwinAir will be enough for 200+ HP. No need for 2.0L :)
Yugo is not Fiat made but it's made from Fiat 127. Also now is 2012 !!! When will people like you understand that nothing lasts forever. There is no rust anymore (all Fiats are rust free because whole body is chrome-plated like Zippo ligher), there is no squieking in the interior, car safety is really great in modern Fiats and overral quality improved much from '90s and special after Fiat Punto 2. So Fix It Again Tony jokes sound very ignorant today. ;)
... BLACK is for example WORST color for most of the cars because it aliasing shadows. No shadows = no details and no details and car sucks. It looks rough and shallow like their owners. Im glad that you are not color blind and that you can see there are nice colors outthere besides BLACK, WHITE and pure BLUE, RED, YELLOW and GREEN. ;)
Seen quite a few american reviews lately and all I have to say is: bringing your cars up to this century's standards and regulations was a failure but for the love of God at least get your presenters outta the 70's and yank 'em to the 21st century ! LOL
@mazda6tuner99 and then what would you do with all that hp? You can only drive the speed limit. What is the obsession with more HP????? More hp wont grow you a bigger D....
@Tregaskis47 Gay guys have waaay better than taste in cars thatn this shit. TRUST ME! Stop sterotyping them. I've seen gay guys drive V8 powered muscle cars, BMW, Porsche, etc. I've see straight guys driving beetles, Smarts, and Mini's all the time. The tables are quite the oppsite aren't they?
WOW ! EVER, WORST, BEST, SUCKS, put_some_word_here in the world... Can you people stay in reallity please and don't exaggerate everything. That way you will only look shallow. This car is not even close to the most uncomfortable car ever and i really doubt that is uncomfortable at all at least for it's size. Taller persons will probable be unconfortable on the last seat but this is a really small car so...
..Interesting car but kind of overpriced., you can get some of this style which is basically a "B" segment car - with the same ammenities for less money (Yaris Versa, Rio5, IQ, Xd, mazda 2, Fit, etc)...this will be a chick's car like the VW bug!
Well when I see a guy driving it, ism just gonna look at him and smh They need a sporty model for guys to buy and modify. I'm sick of all these economy cars even though they are necessary.

Cute little car.
I like the stripes on the side and I love the interior.

So true!!!
I still love my 500!!! ❤️🇮🇹

Love it! Brilliant!
I have the same, best car ever

Can fit my mums wheelchair easily in mine. I love my little Fiat Pop
I think people are going to bash Fiat though. Everyone just needs to remember that this ISNT a sports car, nor was it designed to be like one.
I own a 1973 Fiat 124 Sport Spider. Much has changed.
I remember when I was 10 or 11 my uncle was looking for a new car. I went with him to test drive a Spider. I remember thinking it was a little cheaply made and for a new car had a couple rattles.
Love this color, would take the decals off and enjoy this little Cabrio.

I actually like fiat haha its perfect for italy and also for speeding in the highway in the middle of the dessert can't wait to get one
To be honest, the roof gives me the creeps. Reminds me of a snake or a creepy weed thingy from Jumanji - or is that just me? x
@2Kriss2Kross It's still slow though, They need a 2.0 turbo that makes like 225hp and awd. That would be perfect
Are the stripes applied by the factory or by the seller?
@Tregaskis47 you're stuck in a time warp. That was 30 years ago. things change.
some of testers did not like color combinations? cause u only want everything black and boring right??
They aren't at the moment, but they are doing it in the next 2-3 years. and aside from German cars, you don't see people buying European cars for their reliability...

@superhawkn
America needs more rail and needs to eliminate transportation as much as possible.
no way it hit 90mph in the 1/4 with a 17 sec run
Don`t see any comment about reliability, wich in other reviews they say it`s terrible, is it really?
It is. There's a reason their sales are terrible. FCA's quality control is horrendous.
@@tenhundredkills Was about to buy a 500, but I`ll wait for another option, thank you Steven
I like these little cars but I need a decent trunk so It can hold some stuff
@jessesan2003 Brought to us by the company that understood the American market so well that they left if for over 30 years.
That was the case in the first Fiat 500 but that was 50-60 years ago and that would be too slow now. Also this car is much bigger and heavier than first one.
Probably more than 500 kg more weight.
@lightssmith Ok Thanks, now i understand why that are applied so bad !
Thats my baby!
It's not a bra dude,,,It's a great fun city car that's a helluva fun to drive....

If you go into a car wash wouldn't it affect the curtain on top?
I loved mine.. should have never sold it
@casmatori Huh, Jeep Liberty? Say what?
I ♥ It
If you don't want it for any longer than say 30K miles, it's a cool little car. Otherwise, don't even think about it.
I can't believe that people still talk like that on shows.
... BLACK is for example WORST color for most of the cars because it aliasing shadows. No shadows = no details and no details and car sucks. It looks rough and shallow like their owners.
